    Interview with Kyrie Li

    Name: Kyrie Li
    Age: 23
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Boston, MA
    Profession: Student/Actor/Waiter
Ethnicity: half African American, half Korean
Describe his/her body build, skin tone, height and weight. Include
    any unique features such as
    Double Takes

dimples, freckles, or scars: Kyrie is 5’9″, about
155 pounds, and slim but toned. He has short black hair, mocha skin, laughing eyes
with uber-long lashes, and is almost femininely pretty.

    Who is the significant
    other in your character’s life?
Gregory Douglas Dwyer, Esquire, Kyrie’s ex-brother-in-law and
    best friend
    How does your hero dress?
Flamboyantly. Kyrie loves splashes of color and slim-legged pants,
and can wear an ascot better than Freddy Jones from Scooby-Doo. He usually cranks
the attire up a notch around his family and close friends, and loves getting into
costume for performances both in and out of the bedroom.
    How educated is this character?
Is he book smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
Kyrie just graduated with his bachelors in theater arts and is
a solid B student without putting in much effort. He jumps into everything headfirst,
and so has a fair amount of life experience for his age, but he is also extremely
naïve sometimes, which tends to get him hurt.
    Does he scrape by, live
    comfortably, live extravagantly?
He lived in a shoebox apartment with his roommate, Liv, all through
college and again when they moved to NYC. Shortly afterward, though, he and Greg
moved into a larger condo together. Now Kyrie has to keep up his end of the “kept
boyfriend” bargain as he is still not pulling in a ton of money waiting tables
    and auditioning for acting roles.
    Is he close to family?
Kyrie is the baby of his family, and is definitely treated that
way. He’s close with his older sister, Jasmine, and spoiled by his mother Shana.
His dad is a bit more reserved, but they all dote on Kyrie.
Can your hero keep a secret?
If not, why not? If yes, why?
Kyrie is horrible at keeping secrets. He’s the perfect person
to tell a secret to if you want it to get out. Ever since he was a child he would
make himself physically ill if he told a lie. The guilt would eat away at him until
    he had to confess.
    What secrets does your
character know about people around him that he does NOT share?
Kyrie manages to tell a whopper of a lie to his best friend Greg.
After a night of drinking and lowered inhibitions, they end up in bed together.
The next morning, Kyrie freaks and pretends he blacked out and doesn’t remember
a thing. Needless to say, it doesn’t work well for either of them.
    What inner doubt causes
    your character the most difficulty?
Kyrie is convinced that Greg is still in love with Kyrie’s sister,
Jasmine. Despite the fact that Greg and Jazz are divorced, Kyrie tries repeatedly
to get them back together. Later on he realizes he’s worried Greg will find someone
new and no longer have time for him.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
That’s a joke, right? The real question is–what took her so
    long?
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
She probably should have kept quiet about the kinky boots I borrowed
from the theater. I mean, I don’t care that people know I can rock heels, I just
wouldn’t want my producer to find out I was treating the costume closet like a lingerie
lending library, ya know? Might not fly.
    What do you wish your
    writer would write next?
My next book! Greg and I have a lot of humps to get over—get
it? Humps? No, seriously. She needs to put away those other two books she’s working
on and get cracking on Shooting Stars 3.5 because we can’t possibly be contained
to one tiny little novel. Nope. We’re explosive, baby! Sequel! Sequel! Sequel! Come
on! Say it with me, now.
    What other character from
your book do you think your writer should write a book about? Care to tell us why?
Well, Livy should probably get a book because that Mark guy she’s
livin’ with is nice enough, but she could totally do better. Don’t tell him I said
that. Ah, he could probably do better, too. Don’t tell her I said that.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your writer?
    Forever Is Now
Greg and I want a baby. Make it happen. Hah! Just kidding, you
chode! I can’t believe you fell for that. You should see the look on your face!
    Price! Less!

Interview with Nancy Corrigan author of Hunter Betrayed @Nancy_Corrigan #RLFblog #ParanormalRomance

    Interview with Nancy Corrigan

    Why did you write this
    book?
I love mythology and have always been fascinated with the Wild
Hunt myth. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a spectral procession of horsemen
and their hounds riding across the night sky. Many versions of the myth imply that
it’s a wild, uncontrolled force that kills everything in its path, but there are
some versions, including the Welsh retelling that offers a different reason—the
race to gather creatures that escaped from the Underworld. For me as a writer, I
read that and my imagination went crazy. Soon after, the riders of the Wild Hunt
series were born—wickedly hot horsemen who protect the humans from the atrocities
    of the Unseelie Court.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
Paranormal/fantasy. They’ll always be my favorite. I love the
escape it offers. I lump the two genres together because sometimes it’s hard to
draw the line between them, especially when reading stories about faeries or other
mythological creatures. The Wild Hunt series walks the line between paranormal and
fantasy as it has demons, fairies, creatures of mythology and of course, the Huntsmen
who have an alternate form they can shift into.
    What is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own characters)?
The Vampire Lestat from Anne Rice’s books. I love the depth she
added to his character. Tortured, wicked and still I fell in love with him. The
Vampire Chronicles were the first paranormal books I read and I became engrossed
in the genre afterwards. I couldn’t get enough. Still can’t.
    Do you enjoy films and/or
TV shows? Which are your favorites?
I don’t watch much TV, but I do enjoy movies. My tastes lean
toward the action/adventure or horror ones. I need to be engaged or else I’m ready
to head to the bathroom or to get more snacks. Some of my favorites include the
Star Wars movies, Thor, the Lord of the Rings, and any classic slasher movie.
    What are you working on
at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?
Later this month, I’ll be kicking off yet another series! Mist
Unveiled will be book 1 of the Elemental Desire series. It’s a mix of science, global
warming and Norse mythology! I’ll also be releasing a contemporary romance later
    this year.
    Please tell us about your
    latest book.
Hunter Betrayed is book 1 of the Wild Hunt series. Reviewers
have compared it to Larissa Ione’s Lord of Deliverance series and Kresley Cole’s
Immortals After Dark series. Hunter Betrayed will kick off the series and trigger
the event that’ll set the riders of the Wild Hunt on a deadly race to save their
souls and the world. Duty has been their constant companion for millions of years,
but in the end it won’t be enough when the future of the world is on their shoulders.
It’ll take a force much stronger than the discipline and stubbornness that have
helped them survive the horrors of their past. It’ll take the love to finally heal
    their broken souls.
    Tainted from
birth, Harley lives a life cloaked in darkness and temptation. She resists the lure
of her evil legacy by holding the memory of her ghostly savior close. Every night
without him is agony. She fantasizes about him and yearns for his body, but he’s
not the protector or lover she’s envisioned. He’s a Hunter bred to eliminate her
kind. He’s also her only hope of salvation.
    Calan, the
leader of the Wild Hunt, was created to protect mankind from the Unseelie Court.
For a millennium, he’s sacrificed to ensure the horrid creatures remain in the Underworld,
but his strength wanes. He must rely on his enemy’s daughter to save him, but he
doesn’t expect the intensity of their lust or love. Her touch calms his wild nature
and ignites his carnal desires. He’ll risk all to save her, but doing so forces
him to make the ultimate sacrifice, one that’ll damn him to suffer forever in his
    own living hell.

Writing True Crime by JoAnne Myers @scooterismine #RLFblog #truecrime

    Twisted Love
First you must pick an interesting crime. I specialize in homicides in my home state of Ohio. Routinely reading newspapers will help the writer find murder cases. Find a homicide that has numerous good elements that will hold one’s interest.
Next you must start the investigation of your chosen crime. To find my information, I read newspaper reports of the homicide. I searched court documents for witness reports, and courtroom testimony. I interviewed witnesses. Persons that either were present when the crime occurred, or had after the fact information. Try to locate the victim’s family members, and see if they want their side of the story told. If the case goes to trial, the Defense’s job is to discredit the victim. To portray the deceased as the “bad guy.” This type of mud slinging does not sit well with loved ones of the victim. Give them a chance to speak for the deceased. Anyone that was involved with the case, will have something of interest to report. Don’t forget to locate the reports of the arresting officers and the homicide detectives. Try to locate the coroners report, any eyewitness, or person’s who reported hearing an altercation or gunshots.
Keep abreast of updates, and read everything that was written about the case. Build a relationship with the law enforcement officials who are involved in the case. I personally live in a very small town, where most person’s know one another, and many have relatives or close friends that are involved with law enforcement. Attend the trial and speak to everyone you can about the criminal, the victim and prosecution and defense witness.
Last but not least, sit down and write. Now it is time to tell the story of the crime. Hopefully you will find most of the information you need in your copious notes–if not go back and get the answers you need. Never throw away any notes or information concerning the case. Not even after the trial is over with, and the story is written. Most convicted felons apply for numerous appeals, which take years to dissolve. Some cases never seem to end; The Crime of the Century was such a case. When the accused was found guilty and sent to prison, he and his attorneys, who always believed him innocent, continued fighting for his freedom. That blessed event came after the convicted spent five years on death row. He was cleared with DNA, but it still took nearly thirty years to find the true killers. If you want your true crime novel to be believable, you can’t fudge the facts.
Blurbs for “Twisted Love” 12 cases of love gone bad
It’s a chilling reality that homicide investigators know all too well: the last face most murder victims see is not that of a stranger, but of someone familiar.
The End of Autumn-To keep from paying child support for his three children, Rodney Williams, plots with his parents to kidnap his estranged wife, 25-year old Autumn, in broad daylight. This 2011 crime shocked the small community of Logan, Ohio.
Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing-In 2011, 53 year old Russell Strothers, and his teenage accomplice find their victims through Craigslist and strike with calculating and deadly force.
A Senseless Killing-This 2010 case uncovers how a 40 year old likable barmaid was lured to her death after she rejects her young admirers sexual advances.
The Death of Innocence-This 2011 murder case involved 4 year old Marcie Willis, and her evil stepmother 25 year old Cheryl, from the small bedroom community of The Plains, Ohio.
The Girl Not Forgotten-This cold case took 26 years to solve, but brought justice for 13-year-old Holly Buford, and put serial rapist, 40-year-old Stanley Snead, behind bars.
The Possession-When 29-year-old Valerie Harris severs the penis of her sexually abusive father, it makes national news in 2007.
Home Town Hero-When deaf students are murdered in the prestigious Rose Brick College of the Deaf in 2008, everyone is shocked when discovering the killer is one of their own.
The Spell Caster Murders-When 42 year old Fortune Teller Sally Vu and her 21-year-old daughter Veronica are discovered murdered and physically desecrated, in 2001, evidence points to revenge and a spell gone wrong.
All For the Family-In 2003, as a way to erase her 22-year-old husbands criminal past, 19 year old Molly Abbott devises a ghoulish and desperate strategy.
Thicker Than Water?-When 52 year old Kim Michaels is found dismembered inside her burned out home in 1996, officers find the crime more confusing than a jig saw puzzle.
Mail Order Murder-The last thing the beautiful Russian mail order bride Anna dreamed of in 2001, was being murdered by her controlling and older American husband.
Where’s Christopher?-When four year old Christopher Ellis goes missing, numerous excuses and an odd odor emanating from the backyard in 1991, raises eyebrows.
