Jocelyn Dex author of A Demon’s Gift answers five easy questions to help readers
    get to know her better.

    Author Bio

Jocelyn was born in Iowa and currently resides in
hot-as-hell Texas. She shares her home with her very own 6’4″ alpha male
and varying numbers of spoiled cats and dogs. Teaching one of her dogs to file
his nails is one of her all-time favorite accomplishments.
She thinks dragonflies are awesome, spiders are creepy and
it’s rumored that she sleeps with a machete by her bed in case zombies attack
in the middle of the night.

    Happily-Ever-After.
    What is your go-to meal
    when you dine out?
Well, that depends on where I am!
If I’m at a Mexican restaurant, it’s Spinach Enchiladas.
Love those things. YUM! If I’m at a seafood restaurant, it’ll probably be
shrimp and oysters. Or if in season, I might get some crawfish. At a sushi
joint, I’ll definitely be ordering the New York roll. Oh my god, those things
    are good!
    What’s your favorite hashtag
    to watch on Twitter?
    #tenqueries
    Describe the perfect vacation.
Sun, sand, palm trees, clear blue water, iguanas walking
around, and a beer in hand.
    Tell us about your
    favorite toy as a child.
Toads, tadpoles, rocks, trees… Haha. I was a tomboy as a
kid. But, actual toys? Um…Oh, I know. I had a Merlin. Does anyone else remember
    those?
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
I pretty much stick with Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance,
and Contemporary Romance. I occasionally deviate, but Paranormal tops the list
    for sure.

Many a dream can be realised with a little forethought. The characters
in this quartet of stories are intelligent, sensitive and literary. They are also
supremely voyeuristic and open-minded. Their intelligence is counterbalanced by
inhibitions, which they can only lose by premeditated seduction scenarios, which
relate intimately to their professional, creative and cultural lives. The great
effort each couple puts into arranging a scenario seems to enhance the quality of
the experience. A great source of inspiration for this and other works has been
the novel The Girl Beneath the Lion by André Pieyre de Mandiargues.

    Kim Headlee Morning’s Journey @KimHeadlee #RLFblog #historical

Kim Headlee author of Morning’s Journey answers five easy questions
to help readers get to know her better.

    Author Bio

Kim Headlee lives on a farm in southwestern
Virginia with her family, cats, goats, Great Pyrenees goat guards, and assorted
wildlife. People and creatures come and go, but the cave and the 250-year-old house
ruins—the latter having been occupied as recently as the mid-twentieth century—seem
to be sticking around for a while yet.
Kim is a Seattle native and a direct
descendent of twentieth-century Russian nobility. Her grandmother was a childhood
friend of the doomed Grand Duchess Anastasia, and the romantic yet tragic story
of how Lydia escaped Communist Russia with the aid of her American husband will
most certainly one day fuel one of Kim’s novels. Another novel in the queue will
involve her husband’s ancestor, the seventh-century proto-Viking king of the Swedish
    colony in Russia.
For the time being, however, Kim has
plenty of work to do in creating her projected 8-book Arthurian series, The Dragon’s
Dove Chronicles, and other novels under her imprint, Pendragon Cove Press.
What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?
Steak and peppers, a recipe I learned from my late mother-in-law,
which I can now make just about with my eyes closed.
What is your go-to meal when you dine out?
Sushi, especially on half-price days at our local Japanese restaurant.
    Describe the perfect vacation.
A hotel on the beach—any beach—in the off season, when it’s not
so murderously hot or crowded, where I don’t have to cook =or=clean! The longer
    the stay, the better.
Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.
It’s a white teddy bear that I carried everywhere from the moment
I could pick it up. I left it underneath the tree in our yard when we moved—I was
all of a year old when that happened. Several weeks later, the neighbors found it
and mailed it to us. Teddy now sits in a place of honor on the shelf above my bedroom’s
fireplace; no more nights out in the cold & rain for him!
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what
would be a perfect ringtone for him?
“Russian Easter Overture” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov,
the really heroic-sounding part in the middle. It always reminds me of Arthur galloping
    to the rescue!

    About the Book

    Title Morning’s Journey
    Genre Historical Fantasy Spiritual Romance
    Author Kim Headlee
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
In a violent age when enemies besiege
Brydein and alliances shift as swiftly as the wind, stand two remarkable leaders,
the Caledonian warrior-queen Gyanhumara and her consort, Arthur the Pendragon. Their
fiery love is tempered only by their conviction to forge unity between their disparate
peoples in order to create an impenetrable front to protect Caledonia and Brydein
from the land-lusting Saxons and Angli raiders.
But their biggest threat is an enemy
within: Urien, Arthur’s rival and the man Gyan was treaty-bound to marry until she
broke that promise for Arthur’s love. When Urien becomes chieftain of his clan,
his increase in wealth and power is matched only by the magnitude of his hatred
of Arthur and Gyan, and his threat to their infant son.
Morning’s Journey, sequel to the critically
acclaimed Dawnflight, propels the reader from the heights of triumph to the depths
of despair, through the struggles of some of the most fascinating characters in
all of Arthurian literature. Those struggles are exacerbated by the characters’
own flawed choices. Gyan and Arthur must learn that while extending forgiveness
to others may be difficult, forgiveness of self is the most excruciating—yet ultimately
the most healing—step of the entire journey.

Heath, Earl of Ravensdale Wagers Gone Awry @Collette_Author #RLFblog #regency

    Wagers Gone Awry

Interview with Heath, Early of Ravensdale

    Tell us about
    yourself, please.

Heath gives a brief bow. “Thank you
for your kind invitation to visit with you. That’s a lovely blue gown you’re
wearing. It reminds me of Brooke’s eyes.”
He settles into an armchair. “Always
a bit awkward, talking about oneself, especially when one has been born into a
life of privilege, but cannot boast ancestors one is proud of. I don’t suppose
you’d be happy with I loathe kidney pie and flowers make me sneeze?”
“Hmph, I thought not.” He crosses
his legs and drums his fingers on the chair’s arm.
“I’m the eighth Earl of Ravensdale
and have had to leave the comforts of London to travel to a remote dairy farm I
won in a wager. Well, at least I thought I won the blasted thing, but it seems
I only won a portion of the place.”
He leans forward a bit. “Have you
any idea how smelly a dairy is? And the flies…hoards of the pesky things.” He
flicks his hand toward the window. “And this farm is run by a troupe of sassy
women. Beautiful women, I might add.”
Authors call what you want but
cannot have “the conflict” — what is yours?
    Heath chuckles. “Ah, that’s an
age-old question. What do I want? To sell this farm, but if I do, I’ll render
the Culpepper misses homeless. Makes me rather a cur, doesn’t it?”
His gaze drops to his lap.
“No, what I really want is Brooke
Culpepper, but she cannot abide me, and I doubt an offer of marriage would
tempt her. Besides, the Ravensdales, up to now, haven’t exactly exemplified fidelity
or marital bliss, so I plan on enjoying a few more years of freedom before
buckling under the responsibilities of the earldom and acquiring a wife and
    producing an heir.”
What can you not do (but
need to do) during this story?
“As I mentioned before, I need to
sell this parcel of green hell so that I can return to London’s civilization.”
Heath shakes his head then winces. “And, after Brooke’s over- zealous servant
took it upon himself to crack me on my head, I’m under doctor’s orders not to
    travel until I’ve recovered fully.”
He shifts in his chair while shooting
a look to the parted door.
“Trust me, having Brooke under the
same roof is causing me much more discomfort than my aching head is.”
    What inner doubt
    causes you the most difficulty?
Heath gazes into space for a long
moment. A small smile quirks his mouth before he shrugs.
     “I can barely read, and it’s a secret I’ve
kept close to my chest since my youth. I trust you’ll not bandy it about
indiscreetly. I also have a terrible sweet tooth.”
In the story world your author
created, explain what it is you fear most and why.
“I fear I’ve lost Brooke because of
the wager between us.” He glances up. “She lost, you know, and she should have
won. Would have won if outside forces hadn’t interfered.”
“I’m also afraid I’m stuck with
this farm, and I detest country life.” Heath makes a small gesture with his
hand. “It’s a childhood thing, the story much too long and boring to tell.”
    What special skills
    do you rely on?
           “Not reading!” Heath
chuckles again and taps his temple with his forefinger. “I have quite a memory
for numbers, though, and can recall every card dealt in a game.”
    Why are you happy (or
not happy) with the way your story ended?
Heath grins. “Oh, I’m happy with
the ending, even if my author manipulated me. Authors seem to enjoy doing that,
pushing us characters around and torturing us a bit.”
His grin slips. “I did end up
keeping the confounded dairy farm, and obtained guardianship of the younger
Culpeppers. I’m going to have my hands full with that lot. Speaking of which, I
need to discover what mischief they’ve gotten themselves into in my absence.”
Heath stands and bows. “I thank you
for having me as your guest. I’d be honored to return anytime.”

    About the Writer

    Bestselling,
award-winning author, Collette Cameron, has a BS in Liberal Studies and a
Master’s in Teaching. Author of the Castle Brides Series. Highland Heather
Romancing a Scot Series, and Conundrums of the Misses Culpepper Series,
Collette writes Regency and Scottish historicals and makes her home in the
Pacific Northwest with her husband and five mini-dachshunds. Mother to three
and a self-proclaimed Cadbury Chocolate chocoholic, Collette loves a good joke,
inspirational quotes, flowers, trivia, and all things shabby chic and cobalt
blue. You’ll always find dogs, birds, quirky—sometimes naughty—humor, and a
dash of inspiration in her novels.
    Her
motto for life? You can’t have too much chocolate, too many hugs, or too many flowers
or books. She’s thinking about adding shoes to that list.
    What was your biggest
    challenge in writing this book?
I wanted Heath to almost be an
anti-hero; you know, a guy who’s not perfect, with some real faults but still
comes through as likeable in the end. Creating a character who readers could
like despite his obvious flaws, one readers could still find good qualities in,
    stretched me.
The very nature of what Heath
decides to do to solve his situation and Brooke’s dilemma was enough to have
many readers slamming the book closed or tossing it across the room. Yet, guys
like Heath do exist, and they aren’t all rotten-to-the-core, if you’ll excuse
    the cliché.
    Are any sequels
    planned for this book?
Wagers Gone Awry is the first book
in a five-book series. You’ll see Heath and Brooke again as the adventures of
the other Culpepper misses are told. And trust me, some of their capers are
going to be a lot of fun.
    What genre(s) would
you like to write that you haven’t tried yet?
I have some story ideas for
contemporaries, a young adult series (I hope to start that one in the summer of
2015), a couple of paranormal series, and even a time-travel series.
There just aren’t enough hours in
the day to write all the stories I have floating around in my head. I have to
jot them down in my story Bible to keep track of all of them.
    What would your
readers be surprised to learn about you?
    I hate mushrooms and peas.
Oh, you want something with a
    little more substance?
I didn’t always want to be an author.
I fact, I didn’t start writing until 2011. That book, Highlander’s Hope, was
    published in 2013.
    Why should readers
who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?
Well, they might enjoy a good
chuckle or two if they get my sense of humor. Not everyone does, though.
I love history and what I write,
and I hope those passions comes through in my stories.

    False Start a new #contemporary @Mariannericeaut #RLFblog #Romance

Marianne Rice writes contemporary romances set in small New England
towns. Her heroes are big and strong, yet value family and humor, while her heroines
her smart, sexy, sometimes a little bit sassy, and are often battling a strong internal
conflict. Together, they deal with real life issues and always find everlasting
love. When she’s not writing, Marianne spends her time buying shoes, eating chocolate,
chauffeuring her herd of children to their varying sporting events, and when there’s
time, relaxing with fancy drinks and a great read. She tries to make time for her
husband too, but he often places behind her love affair with books

    Interview with Marianne Rice

Why did you write this book?
I’ve always loved football. I grew up in Los Angeles, but my
grandmother was from Denver and had a major crush on John Elway. When I was young
I kept a spiral bound notebook (before the time of computers) with the players’
names, positions and stats. At the time I was too young to appreciate the, uh, uniforms,
but learned the rules of the game. Fast forward a few decades…I’m now settled
in Maine, so my eyes are glued to Brady and Gronk’s…I mean, I follow the Pats.
My husband played football in college and I enjoyed watching his backside as well
(still has a great tush!). So of course my first book had to feature a football
player. I’d love to hear from all of you. What’s your favorite sport to read/fantasize
    about?
What is your favorite genre to read?
I love contemporary romance. I read historical, suspense and
women’s fiction, but there’s something about reading a romance story that really
could happen…a girl can dream, right?
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not
    including your own)?
What an impossible question to answer. I love alpha men (I mentioned
my football player husband, yes?), but love the soft, sensitive side of a man as
well. A shirtless man with incredible pecs holding a baby? Wowzahs!
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from
    you in coming months?
False Hope (book 2) comes out April 20th and False Impressions
(book 3) comes out June 29th. But as far as writing goes, I just typed The End to
Flight Risk, the first book in my Rocky Harbor series. I’m so excited to write start
on the next in the series.
Please tell us about your latest book.
After a drunken, abusive experience with a jock in high school,
Meg Fulton ended up a single mother with a tough hide. Now, a brand-new high school
principal, she uses her sharp tongue to keep men at a safe distance, until Connor
McKay walks into the picture. She can’t stand him. He’s a sports-loving alpha male–no
thanks! But her path continues to cross Connor’s, and as attraction heats to a boiling
point, Meg learns there’s more to him than biceps and a tight rear end.
Ex-NFL player turned high school football coach, Connor McKay
is well loved by all–except the intelligent, sexy, new principal who wants to change
his athletic program. When they’re set up on a blind date, he’s finally able to
    crack Meg’s wall.
Things are heating up between them when someone from her past
threatens to tear them apart. It will take a leap of faith for Meg to shed the scars
of her past and let love into her life.
