Please provide a physical description of yourself.

I guess you’d say, I’m tall and willowy. My reddish blonde hair falls below my shoulders is curly and unruly. One thing you will never miss is I have one emerald green eye and one bright blue eye.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I have a degree in plant genetics, botany and biology. I have spent most of my adult life studying and creating unique plants and flowers through splicing and grafting. Maybe a little magic. I came to Deerbourne Inn to relax and regroup after my prize creation, a flower, was stolen from my sister and my flower shop in Colorado. The perp was another flower store owner. What a sleeze. We won the court case, but my creative magic took a major hit. The other defining thing about me, is I have an insatiable curiosity which has gotten me into trouble since I was a toddler. This time I got caught trespassing on enchanted land under the full moon. But the draw was intense.

Who is the significant other in your life?

Silvanus Forrest. He has lots of secrets but most of all His Fae/Gypsy blood has been a thorn in his side. So you see we have lots in common.

If you haven’t made a bucket list before, perhaps now would be a good time. Who knows? It might inspire another book. While you’re at it, how about telling us about some of your other favorite things? Here are the questions.

What is your birth order?

There is only me and my sister. I’m the youngest.

Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.

My magic. It led to lots of interesting events coupled with my curiosity in my youth.

Describe your favorite food and how it’s prepared.

Oh, pizza is my favorite food group. LOL Best part you can eat it on the run when something happens you just gotta check out. I like lots of sauce, cheese and ground beef. Oh and whole wheat crust is a must.

Tell us about your best friend.

Well, that would be my sister Hope. We own Magic Mountain Floral in Colorado. We inherited it from our parents. They are retired and spend half the year in Colorado and half the year in Scotland at the family castle. Hope is married to a mortal and they have two children, a boy and a girl who inherited our powerful magic. They are a real problem at times. Her poor husband…. Well that’s a story for another time.LOL

What are two places you would like to visit before you die, and why?

Hawaii – the beautiful beaches and ocean. The temporate weather. I’d love to have a cottage on the beach, go for a run as the sun is coming up and relax.

Ireland. Love to see the castle ruins, compare them to our Scottish ones. Again look over the towering cliffs to the sea. Yes, I know Scotland has them too, but…

Where is a place you would never like to return, and why?

I can’t really think of any where. I’ve always worked or was a student, not much time for anything else. But things are changing.

Who is someone you would like to meet, and why?

Steve Jobs of Apple,Inc. He was a difficult person but what a creative mind! Of course he’s dead now, but…

Who is someone you would like to avoid, and why?

Then man who stole my creation. I did get it back. But the betrayal. He was my friend. We’d dated for quite a while. When it came down to it, he only wanted me for my abilities.

If you could time travel to any date, what would it be, and what would you do there?

Back to when Steve Jobs was alive. I’d love to be a fly on the wall of his R&D department at Apple.

Why did you choose this character for the interview today?

Mercy Rose was such a fun character to write. Mystic Maples nearly wrote itself. Okay I admit feeling close to her because we both have and insatiable curiosity that does get us into trouble. LOL

When writing the book, what did you discover about this character that surprised you?

She had one blue eye and one green eye.

Are any sequels planned for this book?

Yes, Mercy and Sil are planning a wedding at the Family Castle in Scotland, Rose Castle and may just solve the mystery that has haunted they house for centuries.

Why should readers who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?

You always need a feel good book with a happy ending. Being whisked away into a romantic, fantasy adventure that you never want to leave is great for the psyche. LOL
