Read the new #PNR Finding the Perfect Mate by Stacy McKitrick @StacyMcKitrick #RLFblog #NewRelease #ParanormalRomanceStacy McKitrick, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

Finding the Perfect Mate by Stacy McKitrick

    Genre Paranormal Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Finding the Perfect Mate just got way more complicated.

When Perry pledges abstinence until he meets a Perfect Mate—a rare mortal perfect for a vampire—he doesn’t expect to be tested. Especially by another vampire. But Mandy smells like heaven. Has a sexy British accent. And is the smartest person he’s met. She’s just so … perfect. If he holds on to his fantasy, will he lose his chance at love?

Finding the perfect vampire was never on her radar.

Mandy hasn’t seen her father in 500 years but when he goes missing she drops everything and heads for the States, only to discover the Russian vampires kidnapped him. She insists on being involved in his rescue and suggests she and Perry—who’s sexy as sin and makes her laugh—infiltrate as lovers. As they pretend, she realizes he’s just so … perfect. But she’s got a secret that will mean her death. Can she trust him not to turn her over to the authorities or does she keep mum and let him go?

Why did you write this book?

When I created Perry in Bite Me, I’m Yours, he was there for comic relief. I realized he could be the same thing in Blind Temptation and Biting the Curse. But then some of the readers wanted Perry to have his own book. I never thought he would because I really didn’t know all that much about his history. But I can’t disappoint my readers, now can I? Perry’s been around a long time. I sure hope I did right by him (and did a good job of torturing him, too!).

What is your favorite genre to read?

Favorite genre? Meaning just one? Yikes! I love the genre I write in, but I’m also a sucker for a good romantic suspense or thriller story.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Probably Stu Redman from The Stand (which I first read back in the late 70s). I’d want to be with someone like him in a crisis (I also thought Gary Sinise played him perfectly in the mini series!). And while my son Stuart is technically named after a family member, I like to think I got the idea from this book instead.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m currently working on Book 3 of the Ghostly Encounter series: Ghostly Protector (if I stay with that title). I’m really close to the end (finally!!!).

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I’m a slow-ish writer. Finding the Perfect Mate may be the only book that I’ll release this year. Next will be Ghostly Protector, but with the way my process goes, I’ll be shocked if it’s ready before December.

    Ghostly Interlude by Stacy McKitrick

    Genre: Paranormal romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Maggie Russell–legal assistant by day, horror writer by night–gets the scare of her life when she wakes up in a strange café without any idea of how she got there. But if she tells anyone about her sleepwalking escapades, she could lose her grandmother’s house, and she’s fought hard to keep it.
Dean Parker is a private investigator whose office is next door to Maggie’s law firm. He’s been eyeing the pretty brunette ever since she started working there, but getting involved with anyone isn’t in his game plan. When he finds out she’s been having sleeping problems, he suspects her money-grubbing cousin is involved. Instead, he discovers something worse: a ghost is living with Maggie and it appears another may be possessing her.
Dean is determined to help Maggie rid her home of the uninvited guests. He just never figured his attraction to her would be reciprocated. Keeping his distance is no longer an option, though. If he fails, Maggie could very well be possessed forever.

Save Lives: Do Annoying Tests and Keep Doctor Appointments Stacy McKitrick #AttackingCancer #Cancer

Save Lives: Do Annoying Tests and Keep Doctor Appointments Stacy McKitrick #AttackingCancer #Cancer Author Stacy McKitrick shares a dual story of surviving cancer.

Cancer hit Hubby and me three times since 2016. Thank GOD we see doctors regularly and follow through with scheduled but annoying, tests. Because they probably saved our lives.
In January of 2016, Hubby felt a tickle in his throat that wouldn’t go away. He went to his doctor who promptly got him an appointment with the ENT who promptly scheduled surgery. Diagnosis: tonsil cancer. Two more surgeries (and a PET scan) later, Hubby was diagnosed cancer-free. But cancer was apparently hiding. In January of 2017, Hubby felt a lump on his neck. Yep, cancer. The same cancer DNA as the first: HPV. Hubby probably had this in his system for decades and never knew it.
This time around he not only had surgery to remove the lump, but now he needed chemo and radiation. Overall, he lost 100 lbs. Not the best way to lose the weight, but he’s determined not to gain it all back.
While he was recovering from all that, I had my annual mammogram in July of 2017. Results came back wonky and they suggested I have a biopsy. This was not unfamiliar territory for me. I’ve had several wonky mammograms followed by biopsies, cysts drained, and two lumps removed (both fibro abnomas). Even though I was sure I didn’t have cancer, I went along with the biopsy because it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
When the doctor told me I had breast cancer, I really didn’t believe him at first. Thought it was some kind of mistake. Then he went over my choices: lumpectomy w/radiation or mastectomy.
I thought: Holy crap! I have breast cancer.
I couldn’t think. Couldn’t make a decision. I needed Hubby with me (I went alone because I didn’t think he was needed for that appointment!).
I also thought: I don’t want to miss my trip to California!
My dad was getting up there in age (92) and I had plans to see him in October. They wanted to do surgery then.
Getting a mastectomy would have put a stop to that trip, so I chose the lumpectomy. And I’m so glad I did. My father passed away a couple of weeks after I returned home.
Radiation happened during Christmas, but it wasn’t so bad (I’ve seen people get burned) and I was sure I wouldn’t need chemo because the cancer wasn’t found in my lymph nodes. Then I was told about the tests the doctor ran on my cancer to determine the probabilities of it returning in my bones. Seemed I fell into the “no man’s land”: chemo MIGHT prevent it or it MIGHT not. Great. I love when things are vague, don’t you?
As I struggled to make this decision, I discovered one of the many side affects of the chemo was that I could develop another type of cancer. I wasn’t willing to trade the possibility of getting one cancer for the possibility of getting another, so I decided against chemo. Thankfully, Hubby supported my decision.
Hubby and I are doing well now. He got his port removed in August and is at a weight that’s healthy for him. And my last mammogram came back clear, although I’m getting them done every six months for awhile. There’s still the possibility cancer can return, and if it does, I’ll deal with it. Because you CAN beat cancer. Hubby and I are proof.

  • 5 Easy Questions,  Paranormal

Stacy McKitrick author of Blind Temptation #RLFblog #PNR

Stacy McKitrick author of Blind Temptation answers five easy
questions to help readers get to know her better.

    Author Bio

Stacy McKitrick fell in love with paranormal romance,
decided to write her own and found her passion in life. She used to work in
accounting, now she spends her time with vampires, ghosts, and aliens. Born in
California, she currently resides in Ohio with her husband. They have two grown
    children.
    Who is your “book
boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
Gosh, I’ve had so many “book boyfriends” it’s kind of hard
to pick (it’s also hard to remember them all—bad me!). I guess the one that
stands out the most, though, would be John Matthew from the Black Dagger
Brotherhood series. I’ve liked him from the first moment I read about him and
loved, loved, LOVED his book (Lover Mine). Of course, now that I think about
it, I drooled a lot over Edward Cullen, too (the Twilight series introduced me
to paranormal romance and I was HOOKED!).
    Describe the perfect vacation.
The perfect vacation is one where I don’t have to cook or
clean. Haha! I love going on cruises because I can visit multiple places and
only unpack once (the hubby and I already have three booked within the next 17
months). But I would love to stay at a place on the beach so I can sit on the
porch (or open the windows) and listen to the waves at night. Provided it’s
    warm, that is!
    Tell us about your
    favorite toy as a child.
For my tenth birthday I got a Polaroid Swinger camera (see
this ad for it on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7k2uwJmwxo).
I LOVED that thing. Instant pictures!! Yeah, now it’s a joke, but back in 1967
it was a miracle! I think I used up a whole roll on my birthday just taking
pictures of my friends. It was the best birthday present, ever. Well… until my
fifteenth. That’s when I got my telescope (I loved that thing, too and still
    have it).
    What are your hobbies?
Lately, all I do is write and read (because it’s fun, what
can I say?). But I have been known to crochet a lot in the past. I’ve made so
many afghans, I ran out of people to give them to. Same with pot holders and
doilies. I crocheted a tablecloth for my friend that took me a couple of years
to complete. Thought I was going to go blind (or get arthritis). I pretty much
quit after that project (except for crocheting the occasional scarf). But I’m
sure if one of my kids ever decides to get married and have kids, I’ll be
crocheting a blanket for the little one!
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
I like reading different stuff: paranormal romance, romantic
suspense, thriller, horror. Normally, my favorites are in third person with
multiple points of view. I say normally, because I do have some favorite series
that are in first person (urban fantasy or YA paranormal). I like some danger
in my books; they just make for a fun read. And the romances I read must end in
a happy ever after (no cliffhangers, please!!).

    About the Book

    Title Blind Temptation
    Genre Paranormal Romance
    Author Stacy McKitrick
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Dreading the prospect of losing her
position on the Vampire Committee, Victoria is forced to integrate with the
mortal population. She hasn’t stepped outside since her husband died over 40
years ago and the thought of being treated like the 17-year-old she resembles
frustrates her. But when she discovers that Ben, her hot & sexy driver’s ed
teacher, is blind, she gives into temptation and flirts. She never expects to
    fall in love.
Ben knows he shouldn’t get involved
with Victoria—she’s his student. But something compels him toward her. She
