If it’s a weekday, Kimberly might troll the internet for some cute dog videos. If the timing’s right, she might get on a call with Joaquin, MacKenzie, or – even better – both. Weekends she’ll head to the local kink club. The Domme has regulars who like to play with her, but she’ll also do pick-up play if someone catches her attention and she can vet them.
What kind of food would she impulse buy if hungry?
Almost forty, Kimberly’s conscious of her body and how she feels within her skin. She tends to be careful about what she eats, but she’ll go for a tray of nachos with cheese, salsa, and jalapeños as a treat.
Describe the kind of clothes she prefers to wear.
She works from home as a computer security analyst, so she’s all about the yoga pants and sweatshirt…during the work week. On weekends? She’s a Domme at Club Kink in Vancouver and she’s all about the leather corset, short leather skirt, nylons, and skyscraper heels. She’s also a fan of latex for herself or for her submissives.
Does she know how to fix things?

Adventurous, Kimberly embraced her kinky lifestyle years ago. She apprenticed under several well-known Doms and Dommes in Vancouver and would never try something in public until she felt proficient and competent. Unfortunately all the planning in the world can’t prevent the inevitable mistakes. She was whipping a new bottom one night, soon after attending her first public event, and the whip wrapped. The whip strike went wide and wrapped around her bottom’s side. The guy was fine, truly, but Kimberly was spooked and it took a lot more practice before she was willing to try again in public. Now, she teaches other newbies.
How does she act around children she doesn’t know?
She’s comfortable with children. She’s talk to the young ones, hold babies comfortably, and chats tech with teenagers. She just…doesn’t want any of her own.
What is she like first thing in the morning?
Kimberly usually works late into the night, so she’s not exactly a morning person. Except when she’s at conferences and on holiday when she wants to pack in as much adventure as she can during those short vacations.
Can she use chopsticks?
She’s grown up in multi-cultural Vancouver and her parents took her to restaurants all over the city and yeah, she knows how to use chopsticks.
Does she drink coffee? If so, how does she take it? If not, what does she drink instead?
She loves tea and will drink coffee on occasion. Do not give her mate – as Joaquin and MacKenzie learned – it doesn’t end well.
What apps would she have on her phone?
She selects apps that streamline her life. She tracks her calendar, keeps in touch with her BDSM friends, and orders food on her phone. That being said, she’s paranoid about the use of her personal data and is careful about anything she adds to her phone.

Earrings or unpierced ears?
Earrings. Her favorite pair is mini handcuffs.
Tattoos or unadorned skin?
She’s unadorned. Might consider getting something to remind her of her two men, but nothing so far.

Vancouver has a good public transportation system that she’ll use, but the acquisition of two men means she needs more to get them around town. Also, hard to haul all her BDSM gear on the SkyTrain…
Recycle or toss?
Recycle all the way. Kimberly strives to buy as few material things as possible and avoids packaging whenever she can. She’s an environmentally minded strong woman who wants to leave the planet in the best shape she possibly can.

Why did you write this book?
I wanted to show the Far West as it really was, without the cowboy myths, without the shootouts and without the happy mail-order bride fantasy. I felt that real people had to be portrayed with all their failures and successes.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I read many different sorts of books, but my favourite is literary travel.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
The interfering and bossy Flora Post from Stella Gibbon’s delightful Cold Comfort Farm is a great favorite of mine. She can’t be fooled, but she sees the humour in everything.
What are you working on at the moment?
A non-fiction history of life on the Great Hungarian Plain.
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Two new versions of stories that are also set in Blake’s Folly, Nevada will be coming out this spring: All About Charming Alice and Desert Rose. Here are the blurbs:

I loved being able to create different types of ghosts, Innocent, vengeful and some comedic spirits and how they interfere in the lives of the living.
