Read Wolf Claims His Pack the new #paranormalromance by NJ Walters @njwaltersaurhor #RLFblog #romancebooks

A wolf wasn't meant to be alone. A wolf needed his pack. Read Wolf Claims His Pack by NJ Walters--the next book in the new paranormal series Salvation Pack: The Next Generation.

NJ, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I'm Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Wolf Claims His Pack.

Wolf Claims His Pack by NJ Walters

    Genre Paranormal Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Half-breed wolf and blacksmith, Bailey Smith's life is complicated. She's alpha of a small pack consisting of her teenage brother and three other kids. Her grandfather—a pure-blood wolf—wants her and her brother dead. And now a confrontation with two human males has brought Child Protective Services to her door. If that wasn't enough, she's caught the attention of an unknown, sexy-as-hell, male wolf.

Nicholas LaForge has found his mate and purpose. Being a full-blooded wolf is a strike against him, but she marries him to protect her kids. He'll use whatever sneaky methods necessary—including sex—to convince her they belong together. First, he has to deal with the threats to his new pack. That's the easy part. Winning her love and trust might be impossible.

Why did you write this book?

I love the original Salvation Pack series. Like my readers, I wanted to know what happened to the kids of the original characters when they grew up. Nicholas is the son of Jacque LaForge, the alpha of the original pack. I knew it would take a very special woman to capture his heart.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Romance! I read it all—contemporary, romantic suspense, paranormal, historical, and some sci-fi/fantasy. It's such a diverse genre.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

I'd have to say, right now, it's Eve Dallas from J.D. Robb's In Death series. I've followed that character for more than 50 books and can't wait for the next one.

What are you working on at the moment?

I'm currently working on the next Salvation Pack: The Next Generation and the next Forgotten Brotherhood book.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

There will be at least two more Salvation Pack: The Next Generation series books. Forgotten Brotherhood books are in the works. No dates yet. I'll post to my social media as soon as I know them.

Fiction Furbaby: Meet Brady from Child Of Mine by Jana Richards @JanaRichards_ @RobsRescues #RLFblog #Pets #SmallTown

In Child of Mine, a small town romance by Jana Richards, Lauren turns to her brother-in-law Cole for comfort on the day of her estranged husband’s funeral. When she discovers she’s pregnant, she has to decide whether to tell the truth about the baby’s father. Is Lauren’s love for Cole stronger than her fear of scandal in her hometown?

Jana, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! We support all furbabies, real life or fictional. We want to know all about your Fiction Furbaby, but first, please tell us about Child of Mine.

Child of mine by Jana Richards

    Genre contemporary smalltown romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Lauren didn’t intend to sleep with her brother-in-law Cole on the day of her husband’s funeral. But now that she is pregnant, she’s not sorry. Cole’s given her a baby, a long-wished-for miracle. He’s been her friend forever, though she never told him or anyone else how unhappy her marriage to his cheating brother was. And she’s afraid to tell the small town that considered her husband a hero that the baby isn’t his.

Cole’s been in love with Lauren since he was sixteen. It kills him that everyone believes the baby is his dead brother’s. All he wants is to claim the baby, and Lauren, as his own. Though she marries him, will Lauren’s heart ever be his?

Lauren must tell the truth or risk losing Cole. Is her newly-discovered love for him greater than her fear of scandal in her hometown?

Meet Brady from Child of Mine

    Full name: Brady

    Gender: male

    Species: dog – Labrador Retriever

Physical description: fairly large, beautiful golden hair, sweeping tail and a smile on his face.

Relationship to main character: Brady is Cole’s dog and lives with him.

    Relationship to the villain/antagonist: n/a

Where this furbaby came from: I don’t actually say in the book where Brady came from, but since Cole is a veterinarian and sometimes helps out at shelters, I believe Brady was rescued from a shelter.

What inspired you to create this character?

Like I said, my main character, Cole, is a veterinarian. I worked for several years for the veterinary association in my province, and most, if not all, the vets I knew had a pet, and often more than one. So, it seemed logical to me that Cole would have a dog. Cole is a compassionate, caring person who enjoys having an animal in his life.

What does the main character think about this furbaby?

Cole adores Brady, even though Brady’s exuberance can get him into trouble at times. Part of the reason Cole adopts Brady is for the company he provides. Cole is busy with work, but before Lauren comes back into life, he comes home to an empty house every night. Brady provides companionship to Cole and makes him laugh, something he really needs.

How do other characters react to or interact with this furbaby?

When Lauren and Cole marry and she moves in with Cole and Brady, Brady falls head over heels for her. Cole jokingly says Brady has completely forgotten about him. When Cole and Lauren’s love is tested and they’re going through difficult times, Brady sticks close to Lauren and provides her with unconditional love and support.

What is this furbaby’s natural habitat?

Brady lives in Cole’s house in Masonville, North Dakota. His natural habitat is the sofa, or in his human’s bed, especially if Lauren is there.

What does this furbaby add to the story?

I think Brady adds some comic relief and a shoulder for his humans to cry on.

What about this furbaby will readers like, and why?

I think Brady will remind readers of dogs they’ve known and loved and lived with. Brady is a member of Cole and Lauren’s family. Sometimes he gets into trouble, but the unconditional love he provides gives his humans much needed solace when they need it most.

Read The Case of the Missing Monkey, the new #mystery short story by Kris Bock @Kris_Bock #RLFblog #BookGiveaway

The Case of the Missing Monkey

In Kris Bock’s Accidental Detective series, a witty journalist solves mysteries in Arizona and tackles the challenges of turning fifty. “The Case of the Missing Monkey” is a ten-page mystery short story set in the world of “The Accidental Detective” series, free with newsletter signup.

Kris, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about The Case of the Missing Monkey.

The Case of the Missing Monkey and other short mystery stories by Kris Bock

    Genre Mystery

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G

Injured in a bombing, Kate returns to her hometown in Arizona with new scars, a limp, and pain meds that give her brain fog. For the first time in her life, she’s starting to feel her age (49), even though she’s living like a teenager again: staying with her father, trying to understand why her sister resents her so much, and running into old friends who still think of her as Kitty.

Kate has followed the most dangerous news stories around the world. But can she survive going home?

This free collection starts with “The Case of the Missing Monkey,” a ten-page mystery short story set in the world of The Accidental Detective series. This is followed by information about the first books in the series, Something Shady at Sunshine Haven and Something Deadly on Desert Drive, plus the first chapter of book 1. After that are three fun, short stories originally written for children.

Why did you write this book?

In this series, Kate spent thirty years traveling the world as a war correspondent. Now back in Arizona, she finds turning fifty as difficult than the mysteries she solves. This character was inspired by my own experiences. Okay, the part about turning fifty, not traveling the world as a war correspondent. I traveled a lot when younger, but not to war zones. But as I faced fifty, I wanted to create a mystery lead dealing with some of the same issues: aging parents, concerns about financing retirement someday, and a body that doesn’t recover like it once did. I also wanted to give Kate a reason to be adventurous and fearless, thus the background as a war correspondent.

I didn’t necessarily intend to write humor, but both my agent and my editor said they laughed a lot. That comes from how Kate sees the world, which is how I see the world. Laughter helps with the pain.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I like romantic suspense and mystery, but nothing too gruesome. I don’t need dead bodies strewn on every page. I read a lot of romance. Lately historical romance seems to be my comfort reads. It generally makes a nice break from whatever I’m working on. Maybe because I don’t write it, I can turn off the editorial brain and just be a reader. I do write sweet contemporary romance, such as the six books in my series set in and around a cat café, as well as romantic comedy (the books with my brother mentioned below) but not historical – at least so far.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

That’s such a hard question. I’m currently rereading The Thief and its sequels by Megan Whalen Turner, and I do love Gen.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m writing a series with my brother, scriptwriter Douglas J Eboch, who wrote the original screenplay for the movie Sweet Home Alabama. These are prequel novels set when the movie characters are teenagers. We follow the crazy antics of Melanie, Jake, and their friends a decade before the events of the movie. We are wrapping up the third book now.

Sign up for our romantic comedy newsletter and get Felony Melanie Destroys the Moonshiner’s Cabin. These first two chapters from the novel Felony Melanie in Pageant Pandemonium stand alone as a short story. In the future, you’ll get fun content about upcoming Felony Melanie novels and other romantic comedy news and links. Or find book 1 at Amazon US or All E-book retailers.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

The first four books in the Accidental Detective series will be released in the next year. Something Shady at Sunshine Haven comes out April 7. It’s followed by Something Deadly on Desert Drive on June 21, Someone Cruel in Coyote Creek on September 29, and Someone Missing from Malapais Mountain in February of 2023.

Read Death in the Perfect House the new #CozyMystery by Caroline Clemmons @CarolinClemmons #RLFblog #CozyMysteryZoe Wilder knows her friend was murdered but it’s ruled accidental. Can Zoe find the killer before she becomes a victim?

Caroline, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Death in the Perfect House.

Death in the Perfect House by Caroline Clemmons

    Genre Cozy Mystery

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG

Zoe Wilder is a reporter for the local newspaper, The Spencer’s Ridge Gazette, in Winston County, Texas. She also writes cozy mysteries. Perhaps that’s why she sees a crime where there may not be one. Members of the local Winston County Sheriff’s Department view her as a pretty kook and don’t take her seriously. When she finds her friend Margo Kingsley dead, she is certain Margo was murdered and Margo’s housekeeper agrees. The investigating officer doesn’t believe her, and the death is ruled an accident due to a fall while inebriated.

Zoe is determined to find the killer. A new Chief Deputy, Caleb McBride, arrives a few days later, hired from Fort Worth PD’s homicide division under unusual circumstances. Deputy McBride is determined Zoe will leave detecting to him and his officers. He warns her she is making herself a target. He also warns her he’ll arrest her if she interferes again. Undeterred, Zoe fears he is only going through the motions to appease the late woman’s daughter. Surprisingly, the new Deputy is the nephew of the dead woman’s housekeeper, of whom Zoe is very protective.

Just as Zoe decides Deputy McBride is good at his job, the killer targets her. She is forced to cooperate with Deputy McBride. Will the killer be stopped before Zoe is the next victim?

Death in the Perfect House is a light-hearted cozy mystery with humor but no graphic sex and no cliffhanger.

Why did you write this book?

The idea popped into my head a long time ago, but I’ve concentrated on romances. These characters wouldn’t leave me alone, though. Zoe is such a fun character, I just couldn’t resist telling this story.

What is your favorite genre to read?

I’m an eclectic reader, so it’s easier to tell you what I don’t read—horror or true crime or sci-fi. The books I choose are dictated by my mood, what others recommend, friends’ new releases, and new releases by other favorite authors.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Of course, right now Zoe Wilder is my favorite character. She is so spunky and a much nicer person than she realizes. Of other authors’ books, my favorite is Taylor Stapleton from Julie Garwood’s Prince Charming.

What are you working on at the moment?

Currently, I’m working on Death in the Graveyard, book 2 of the Zoe Wilder series. I’m enjoying this book—even though you know that writing involves a lot of work. I’m so lucky to be able to work at what I love.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

Death in the Graveyard will release in April. On June 1, a romance, Samantha, Love Train series, will release. I intend the Zoe Wilder series to continue, with other books sprinkled in as well. I have so many books planned, I’ll have to live to be two hundred to write them.

The Crystal Creek Series is dear to my heart because it’s based on the ranch where my father was raised. I combined that with my favorite genre, romantic suspense, and my background in the finance world. I kept asking myself, “What if?” What if the hero promised never to see the woman he loved again? What if heroine’s father didn’t commit suicide? What if the murderer would stop at nothing to get what he wanted? It took several drafts because the villain was a total surprise to me, but finally I was able to tell the story and it to its logical conclusion⸻and throw in a few red herrings along the way.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Anything romance, but I also can’t resist a good legal thriller.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

I always come back to Scarlett O’Hara and Elizabeth Bennet. Those women don’t know the meaning of the word no. They know what they want and nothing will stop them, and they do that while maintaining their poise.

What are you working on at the moment?

My next book takes me back to the Beaumont Brides, the blended family of the Lowes and the Duvalls. Stella’s and Beau’s romance took me back to New York and the tony, Upper Ease Side. Stella’s company helps Beau’s family plan their annual charity ball, but can resist the charm of this fascinating man who doesn’t believe in love?

What books will we see from you in coming months?

It’s Christmas all year round at my house as I’m working on three Christmas Billionaire romances. Afterward, it’s time for me to head back to Crystal Creek, enjoy the mountains, hang out with powerfully built cowboys and solve another mystery.

    will follow not long after.
