Wishing on the Stars by Lori DiAnni
Genre: Small town sweet contemporary
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
Chloe Sweet, a small town bakery owner and single mom to Sophie, has one wish on her Christmas list this year: to win the local Christmas tree contest so she can purchase a new oven for the bakery. Chloe loves Christmas in Misty River, Maine, despite the fact the man she loved had left her on Christmas Eve, five years ago. As she prepares for Christmas, she asks Sophie what her Christmas wish is. Sophie tells her she wants a daddy!
Tyler Anderson, a talented photojournalist and world traveller, is not a fan of Christmas and doesn’t believe in wishes coming true. He had made a wish a long time ago only to have it break his heart. For five years, Tyler has avoided Christmas and the small town of Misty River, Maine because of the painful memories. But now he’s returned to the little town to help his ailing grandfather. As Christmas approaches, his grandfather makes a wish to have Tyler settle down and raise a family.
Can Chloe and Tyler bury the hurt of the past to make their loved ones’ Christmas wishes come true?
Why did you write this book?
Wishing on the Stars is Book 2 in my Misty River series, which focuses on a couple I introduced briefly in my first book, Dancing in the Grass. I wanted to write a second chance love story based on how a simple Christmas wish, made by a little girl, who only wants a daddy for Christmas, brings two broken hearts together. I love the idea of wishing on stars, (which I still do!) and believing and hoping that what you wished for may come true, if you truly believe it in your heart. I used a small town setting because I grew up in a small town and loved it! It’s as simple as that. My inspiration comes from the town I grew up in in Massachusetts as well as the small towns surrounding where I live in Maine. When I plotted out this series, I knew it had to be based on this small town.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Small town sweet contemporary romance, but I also love time-travel and historical romance.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Oohh, this is a hard question and I’m going to be vague and maybe cliche’. I don’t have a favorite to speak of. I guess my favorite character is the one I’m reading about at the time. There are too many to pick out one favorite.
What are you working on at the moment?
Nothing at the moment. I’m taking a break for Christmas and waiting for the release of Wishing on the Stars, which will be available December 21st. Although, I have to say, I’m plotting, in my head, the next book in my series, Dreaming of Sunsets. A writer is always working, right?
What books will we see from you in coming months?
Dreaming of Sunsets is Book 3 due for release in June of 2022 and then Falling Inn Love, Book 4 due for release in October of 2022. I’m also planning on releasing two novellas—but not sure when. One will be a wedding novella involving a couple from one of my books in the Misty River series and the other novella will take place during a winter storm involving a character who has had a very minor role in all four books in the Misty River series. I’m giving him his own book this time.

Pick up cool tips from Linda O’Connor author of Don’t Mess with Christmas by @LindaOConnor98 #RLFblog #HolidayRomance
When he refuses to see her as a patient, she’s righteously indignant. Not a great intro! It’ll take a little Christmas magic and not-so-subtle powers of persuasion for her to add falling in love to her Christmas to-do list. It’s matchmaking at its funniest in Don’t Mess with Christmas by Linda O’Connor.
Linda, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Thanks for sharing two tips with us today, but first, please tell us about Don’t Mess with Christmas.
Don’t Mess with Christmas by Linda O’Connor
Genre Holiday Romantic Comedy
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
Dr. Brogan Corkie is happily semi-retired from medicine and now has time for other hobbies. Her passion for food is second only to her skill at matchmaking!
Parker Roy grew up in the middle of four brothers and has lived with enough testosterone to last her a lifetime. She’s finally moved out and made a life of her own. Between putting the finishing touches on the set for Mapleton’s Christmas play, plowing snow, and transforming her hydroponic greenhouse into a Christmas wonderland, it’s ramping up to be a hectic season.
Dr. Julian Murphy, the only allergist in town, has his eye on the woman behind the set design of the holiday play. He’s volunteering backstage in the hope of getting to know her. There’s a bit of a snag when she’s referred to his clinic for a rash – doctors aren’t allowed to date their patients – but Dr. Brogan Corkie doesn’t see it as an insurmountable problem and steps in to give their romance a nudge. She’d better be right because, if not, it could seriously mess with Christmas.
The allergist or the rash– which itch will Parker scratch?
Two Tips for Household Chores
I thought I’d share 4 tips for being the best dinner party guest ever!
When you’re invited to a dinner party, it’s always a lovely gesture to bring a gift for the hosts. Cut flowers are a traditional favorite, but do the host a favor and shop for an inexpensive vase at the Dollar Store and arrange the bouquet before you go. Nothing is more awkward than searching for a vase and scrambling to welcome guests while trying to save the flowers. They’ll thank you.
Practical edible gifts are a delicious alternative. Try flavored olive oils, infused balsamic vinegars, or a unique honey. Napkins and candles are always useful. One of the best gifts I’ve received was homemade jam.
And there’s this – if you bring a bottle of wine that doesn’t get opened, leave it for the hosts. Don’t take it back – that’s just, no. Even if they’re relative teetotalers, they can always use it for cooking or serve it to other guests in the future. Same goes if you bring a dish to share. Offer the leftovers to the hosts. They’ll thank you the next day when they can relax without cooking!
As a guest it’s always easier to lean on the hosts for introductions to people you don’t know, but you can help make the party a success by breaking the ice yourself. Here are a few suggestions to start a conversation (beyond talking about the weather!):
Does your family have any secret or famous recipes?
What’s your favorite restaurant that other people don’t tend to know about?
If you weren’t working at your current job, what would you probably be doing right now?
What was your first job? Did you like it?
What surprised you most about your current job?
If you could fly anywhere for free, where would you go?
Do you prefer action-packed vacations or relaxing on the beach?
Do you have any hidden talents or surprising hobbies?
There you have it – as you get back to socializing with friends, be the best dinner party guest!

A too-good-to-be-true knight helps a lonely engineer create Christmas in a honest to goodness magical world.

All Roads Lead to Christmas by Lydia Guleva
Genre Contemporary Christmas Romance, Fantasy Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
Can a handsome Christmas knight help a lonely engineer spruce things up?
Isabella knew Bralazin was too good to be true, but to find out that he was a knight from another world, a lord, and her brother’s friend? That was almost as bad as learning that the magical world didn’t have Christmas.
At least Bralazin could help her organize an epic Christmas party and get gifts for every child in their kingdom. Easy. They could do it. Even if Bralazin kept questioning why they needed Christmas in the first place.
Would’ve been great if there were roads they could use to deliver gifts, but Isabella wasn’t a road engineer for nothing. She could build the roads. Or have elves in neon green pants do it for her while singing Christmas songs.
Bralazin, on the other hand, was something she’d have to handle herself. He could say what he wanted about not wishing to upset her brother, but it wouldn’t help him. Isabella set her eyes on him, and he was going down.

My life is a crossbreed of a disaster documentary and a thriller. I moved a lot and often until I finally settled in my sixth country. Things eventually calmed down… sort of. Come on, I can’t have a peaceful life. I have to, at least, get a fixer-upper from hell with neighbors that keep things interesting. If I go a whole month without my foot going through the floor or an old, intoxicated lady asking me if I want a dead cat in a box (there was no dead cat. She hallucinated it), then it won’t be my life.
I could probably write a memoir, but who would believe this crap?
So, here I am, writing things that are a lot more realistic. It’s easier to suspend disbelief and imagine the world with mind-reading demons than me on a date with a guy who kept bragging about how silky his hair is, how he likes getting his butt fingered, how he likes to choke women during intercourse, and that he loves giving women expensive gifts but doesn’t have anyone to give those gifts to because his girlfriend is in jail. That’s okay, though, because it all made sense when his dad showed up (he was tracking his son’s car). Upon seeing me, his dad started profusely apologizing and said… and I quote, “I’m so sorry. I didn’t know you were with a girl. I thought you were doing drugs.”
