Paige Lyman from Take Back the Memory

    Character: Paige Lyman
    Age: Over 50
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: New York
    Profession: Psychiatrist
    Ethnicity: American
    About the character:
Paige Lyman is a gorgeous redhead. She’s over fifty and now in semi-retirement, but is still an object of fascination to her daughter, Diane. She possesses the loveliest pair of legs on Riverside Drive, and when she wears skirts, which she does often, even young men from nearby Columbia University turn to stare. It amazes Diane that her mother’s stunning head of hair still causes whispers in elevators. What she doesn’t know is that Paige had an unusual childhood, and it is about to catch up with her…
Who is the significant other in your character’s life?
Stern W. (the man she thought she married)
    How does your hero dress?
She is trendy, and always makes the effort to look beautiful and elegant
How educated is this character? Is she book smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
She holds a PhD in psychiatry and is widely-experienced
What is your character’s family like?
It’s a close-knit family – an expatriate father and a devoted mom. She is an only child.
    Is she close to family?
She remained close to her parents as long as they lived
    Does she have children?
    She has a daughter, Diane
Does this character see morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
She does not see morality as black-and-white; she, in fact, comes across as someone with questionable morality
If someone from your character’s past showed up, who would she most want it to be, and why? OR who would she most NOT want it to be, and why?
If someone from her past showed up, she would most definitely want it to be her childhood crush, Bill, because she’d never recovered from his abandonment

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

Why do you think your writer chose to write about you?
I think he found my life story compelling
What do you wish your writer had not told others about you?
I wish he didn’t dwell so much on the naughty things I did for vengeance
Was there anything your writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?
He was surprised that I could not fall out of love with Bill when he abandoned me for priesthood, seeing as we were just kids when it happened. To be honest, it surprised me too, but then, love is a mystery, an indecipherable mystery
Is there anything you’d like to say to your writer?
Well, thank you for giving your readers a portrait of my life, warts and all.

Tell us about Take Back the Memory

The saga of a compelling backward journey through a broken mind…
Paige Lyman, an accomplished psychiatrist, is on the verge of madness but she doesn’t know it yet. The madness begins when she gets it into her head to write her memoirs. As her brilliant mind assembles bits and pieces of her life for the book, ugly skeletons, long forgotten in the closet, rear their heads.
It all begins with a simple act of love. And love, for her is a blond-haired Irish boy named Bill, so when Bill abandons her for priesthood, the world around her collapses. Seized by a different passion—vengeance—she seeks her proverbial pound of flesh in the beds of various priests.
But that’s before she meets Stern W, a medical researcher, who sweeps into her life like a hurricane and marries her. And they live happily after until he dies in a helicopter crash and she discovers the startling truth about who he really was. Now, Paige, transformed from psychiatrist to patient, is saddled with a damning memory she must decipher to be free.
Take Back the Memory is the saga of her compelling backward journey through her own life on a psychotherapist’s couch.

Read the new Lacewood by Jessica James @jessicajames #RLFblog #NewRelease #womensfictionJessica James, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your book.

    Lacewood by Jessica James

    Genre Women’s Fiction

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): G

A love story that spans centuries…

Two people trying to escape their pasts find a connection through an old house—and fulfill a destiny through the secrets it shares. Part love story, part ghost story, Lacewood is a timeless novel about trusting in fate, letting go of the past, and believing in things that can’t be seen.

Moving to a small town in Virginia is a big change for New York socialite Katie McCain. But when she stumbles across an abandoned 200-year-old mansion, she’s enthralled by the enduring beauty of the neglected estate—and captivated by the haunting portrait of a woman in mourning.

Purchasing the property on a whim, Katie attempts to fit in with the colorful characters in the town of New Hope, while trying to unravel the mystery of the “widow of Lacewood.” As she pieces together the previous owner’s heartrending story, Katie uncovers secrets the house has held for centuries, and discovers the key to coming to terms with her own sense of loss.

The past and present converge when hometown hero Will Durham returns and begins his own healing process by helping the “city girl” restore the place that holds so many memories. As the mystic web of destiny is woven, a love story that might have been lost forever is exposed, and a destiny that has been waiting in the shadows for centuries is fulfilled.

Rich in emotion and poignant in its telling, Lacewood is an unforgettable story about love and loss, roots and belonging…and spirits of the past that refuse to be quieted.

Why did you write this book?

To make a long story short, it has a little bit of everything I love…history, mystery, old houses, small towns, country life…and majestic trees. I also found a way to give readers two complete love stories. (One from this century and one from the 1860s).

What is your favorite genre to read?

    Political thrillers

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

Mitch Rapp from Vince Flynn’s novels.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m still mulling over my next project. Readers are clamoring for another book in my Phantom Force Tactical series, so that is where I am leaning.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

I’m a slow writer so it takes me a year to write a new book. I am planning to do a box set of my Phantom Force Tactical series though.

    Introducing Toni Belluci

    Please tell me about yourself.
    Age: 38
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Staten Island, New York
    Profession: Real Estate Broker
    Ethnicity: Irish American
    What do you look like?
I’m average height, slim with long blonde hair and big blue eyes.
Who is the significant other in your life?
At the present time I’m dating Eric Summers. He is a little older than me, but is well distinguished, always dressing sharp.
    How do you dress?
I love wearing tight jeans and short skirts with my signature stilettos.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
I live comfortably. I try my best to wait for a sale. I’ve never buy over my means.
What kinds of things do you always carry (in pockets or purse)?
My handbag is so oversized that I lose things in it. But my standbys are my wallet, sunglasses, multiple tubes of lipstick, tissues, hairbrush and my make-up case.
    What is your family like?
I was raised by my foster parents. My parents were killed in a car accident. That’s how I met Francine at one of the foster kid parties. My foster parents put me through school and treated me like their own.
How do others perceive you based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
My friends France and Amy feel that I dress like a teenager. They say my skirt and dresses are too short. I don’t see it that way. I have the figure to wear them, so why not.
Can you keep a secret? Why or why not?
Absolutely. When France, Amy and I found the dealer door and the basement, it was imperative that they guys didn’t find out. I would take that secret to my grave.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
Trusting a man. Eric is a nice guy but there’s something about him that makes her doubt her inner feelings, especially after finding out her marriage was a complete farce with her husband’s deception.
    What is your biggest need?
My biggest need is to find a trustworthy and loving man who I can have a lasting relationship with.
What would you like to tell your writer?
I’d like to tell her that I love the character you have developed me into. The outfits she puts me in are awesome. I just wish she would introduce me to a nice honest man.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
I want them to know they don’t have to settle. Love will come your way when you least expect it. Never put yourself on the short end of the stick and believe and love yourself and trust your instincts.
