opposite than Ariel and Jason. Ariel is a traditional Quaker with an absolute aversion
to war. Jason is the lead council for America’s largest weapons manufacturer.
Their budding romance is thrown into turmoil when Jason uncovers
evidence linking his employer to international arms deals that could devastate America.
His determination to stop the treason puts Ariel in the middle of dangerous territory.
As the chases to retrieve the evidence intensify Ariel is forced
to kill to save Jason’s life. She withdraws into a battle raging inside her, unable
to reconcile whom she has been to whom she has become. Delving deeply into hers

    An interview with: Jason Sorren

    Tell us about yourself, please:
I’m 34 years old, six feet two inches tall. I’m the head of the
legal department for Rathborn United Industries, America’s largest defense contractor.
What is it that you want, but cannot have?
Ariel is a Quaker. She killed someone who tried to kill me. She
hadn’t been raped, but to her, I had no doubt what she had done was equally, if
not more, traumatic. I am trying to convince her she has done nothing wrong, that
what she did was self-preservation. I could not live with myself if she was forever
    in misery because of me.
    What’s your internal limitation?
To protect Ariel at the same time exposing the arms smugglers.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
I love Ariel, but I’m not sure she loves me.
    What’s your external complication?
Losing Ariel. Life would be unbearable without her.
Tell us about your significant other, that person who makes
    living worthwhile.
As you probably guessed, it’s Ariel. None of the other
women I have dated left me with feelings like those I have for Ariel. She dances
in my thoughts every minute I’m away from her. I long to hold her hand, talk to
her, kiss her, smell her, draw her close to him, consume her with my love.
What would that person say about you?
I wish she would say, I love you, but she hasn’t yet.
    What is your family like?
My father was and uncle is Mafia. My father was murdered when
I was twelve. My uncle took care of me and my mom. We never wanted for anything.
After my father’s murder I was ready to join my uncle and seek revenge. It was my
mother who convinced me otherwise. I still remember her words.
“Why do you want to be a mobster? You like to hurt people,
kill people, cheat people? You want to always be looking over your shoulder for
the cops or some other family who wants your territory? You’re old enough to remember
how we couldn’t go anywhere without bodyguards because your father was afraid they’d
get us. That’s no way to treat your wife or raise your children.
So I changed my name to distance myself from my family.
What special skills do you rely on?
I’m a pretty good archer. We lived in Nevada when my father was
alive. He loved the outdoors and bow hunting. He taught me.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you NOT want
    it to be, and why?
The man who killed my father because it would take me back to
the time I wanted revenge. I’m afraid it would force me to do something my mother
worked so hard to convince me not to do.
Are you happy with the way your story ended?
    That remains to be seen.

    About the Writer

You have the length of a tweet (140 characters) to describe
    yourself as a writer.

    Richard Brawer

I write greatly conflicted characters with strong women that
    challenge their men.
Why did you choose to write about this character?
I created this character from scratch. This is a romantic/conspiracy
novel and I needed someone inside the company to expose the conspiracy.
Was there anything you discovered about this character that
    was a surprise to you?
As I said I write strong women who challenge their men. I was
having trouble creating the woman in this story. How I chose a Quaker is a bit of
a long story, but when I did, the entire character of Jason changed. He considered
himself a lady’s man who dropped women when he didn’t have sex with them by the
third date or when the word marriage came up.
With Ariel it was different. When Jason realized she was not
going to have sex with him on that first date, or most likely anytime in the near
future, he was still drawn to her.
When you wrote about this character, what made you the most
happy? What made you the most sad?
I was most happy when I was writing about Jason’s feelings for
    Ariel.
What made me sad was when Jason disparaged Ariel. For example,
they had been captured and were locked in a basement. Jason was trying to build
a weapon. He asked Ariel for help. She refused.
Jason is seething. “…If I am not successful in making this
weapon, we are going to die.”
    “If that is God’s will.”
He jumped up. “God’s will! That’s the excuse you Quakers
use to let someone else do your fighting for you.”
For a brief moment her teeth clenched and her eyes narrowed.
“I didn’t expect to hear that from you. I thought you were different.”
    Why do you write?
I have always had a vivid imagination. I started writing in 1994
when I read an article in the newspaper about a child born with a brain impairment
and the father refused to take the child home from the hospital. The nurses’ outrage
was quoted in the article. I immediately wondered, where was the mother in all this
and what happened to the child? Those thoughts gave birth to my first book. Since
then I was hooked on creating stories.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers?
Readers have said about Love’s Sweet Sorrow:
“Extremely well-crafted, with consistently excellent writing,
impeccable plotting, and nicely developed characters” Shoshana Hathaway
“I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see if they were
able to resolve their differences or if they would split up. An enjoyable read from
beginning to end.” GBP and avid reader

    Interview with TD Hassett

Why did you write this book?
I didn’t mean to write this book, it just wouldn’t leave me alone.
I had been working on my first paranormal romance and this suspenseful love story
kept bugging me. I couldn’t stop thinking about Darling Roberts and her story. Maybe
it was because I named my Siamese cat after her character but whatever, I couldn’t
get her situation out of my head.
Perhaps another reason the story wouldn’t leave me alone was
the setting. The story takes place primarily on a secluded lake in Connecticut where some folks
have gone missing. I live on just such a lake, although to my knowledge no one has
turned up murdered around here. For a variety of reasons the hero and heroine will
have to weather a couple of weeks together in a spooky lake house. Passion, drama
and mystery ensue. I promise a happy ending but I refuse to make it easy for this
    couple!
What is your favorite genre to read?
I love contemporary romance the most, followed closely by historical
    romance and mystery.
What is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own characters)?
I just finished reading another author’s series and fell a little
in love with Jack Storm. He’s another sexy rock god with a good heart. What’s not
    to like?
Do you enjoy films and/or TV shows? Which are your favorites?
I watch a lot of movies but not so much television. I did really
enjoy Lost, especially all those episodes where Sawyer takes his shirt off. His
    character called to me.
What are you working on at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?
I am working on two books right now. One is about an Incubus
that falls in love with a veterinary technician. Will his love be strong enough
to let her go with her soul intact? I am also working on the prequel to my Love
and Music Series. The band is just starting to get off the ground when Rick Houston
is injured on stage. Troubled nurse, Jenni Mitchell can’t stand this rude rocker
and can’t wait to get him off of her floor. Unfortunately for her, Rick is going
to be sticking by her for a while and there’s nothing she can do to change that,
at least not for three months. She needs money after Rick’s advice gets her fired
and he needs a fiancé for a K1 visa to stay in the States. They’re both hiding something
from the other but neither will be brave enough to show their true selves. It has
been fun writing about this opposite attracts couple.
    Please tell us about your
    latest book.
Darling Roberts is going back to the lake house her mother disappeared
from thirteen years ago. She needs to decide to stay or sell. The locals believe
the place cursed, but her best friend thinks it would be a blast to spend the weekend
there before heading to Europe. BFF Madison is
determined to set Darling up even if that means dragging a recently widowed rock-and-roll
drummer to the scene of a murder.
Ross Daniels has a secret. He can’t stand the pitying looks well-wishers
have given him since his wife’s accidental death. The European leg of the Becket
tour can’t come soon enough. A weekend stay at a mutual friend’s lake house seems
like a decent way to kill a couple of days before hopping a plane, at least until
he spends some time with temptation herself. Passions ignite and Ross feels his
heart beginning to beat again. Darling isn’t who he thought she was and he can’t
get enough of her sweet soul and lush curves.
Darling is determined to take charge of her life and the lake
house is just the place to begin. Ross is a scrumptious distraction but she knows
she has to keep things in perspective. Why would a world famous drummer want to
hang out with her in a small town that even the locals want her run out of?

    Interview with June Kramin

    Why did you write this
    book?
I only do what the voices in my head tell me to. ;) Honestly,
I was in bed one night and a character name popped into my head. Sounds cheesy,
but it was Parker Peters. Yup – Spiderman in reverse. I don’t know why, but I was
determined to write something around that. I was in the middle of another project
at the time, but once I started – it just ran itself. It’s by far the most action
I’ve written and I loved the way it all fell together. I loved the mystery of Parker.
Just like his name came to me with no clue who he was, he was just “there”
and I wasn’t sure who he would turn into. Hands down, he’s my favorite male MC to
    date!
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
I like a lot of suspense. I love the “can’t wait to turn
    the page” feeling.
What is your favorite character from fiction (not including your
    own characters)?
For many years now, it has been Lucas Davenport – John Sandford’s
main character in his Prey series.
    Do you enjoy films and/or
TV shows? Which are your favorites?
We cancelled TV almost 10 years ago. We’re not reality fans and
it seemed that’s all that was on. We are big movie people, though. We’ve gotten
into a few TV shows that we found on Netflix. Currently we’re catching up on Leverage
and Castle. With my middle grade books, fun fantasies are also favorite. Once Upon
a Time and Grimm are on the list as well.
    What are you working on
at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?
Like with my characters running the show, I let my fans bully
me. I received an awesome e-mail about someone loving my novel: “Money Didn’t
Buy Her Love”. She was hoping for a sequel so I wrote it. I was glad someone
else’s mind went where mine had gone with a secondary character. I’m on the last
edits then it will be off to my editor. Same for “I Got Your Back, Hailey”.
My 1st two 5-star reviews mentioned wanting more so I am working on that
as well. I love to follow a series. I hope I can keep the intensity up with Hailey
and her crew and keep them coming. I do still have a few older novels that are easier
romance reads on my laptop and the last few of my middle grade series. Eventually
they will need to be beaten into shape and get out there as well. I always have
a few pots on the fire.
    Please tell us about your
    latest book.
I Got Your Back, Hailey is full of twists and turns and surprises.
Parker and Hailey meet by chance, but he discovers she’s who he’d been searching
for. They find out that they share a connection to the man that wants her dead.
Together they try to find ways to prove his guilt while trying to stay alive.
A jailbreak of some needed muscle, a sassy young pilot, a sexy
stewardess, and a computer geek with a Gilligan’s Island fetish make up my favorite
    list of secondary characters ever!
I love our summer road trips. Austin, Texas
was last summer’s destination for a convention. It made for a great scene here,
    as well as Las Vegas
a few years prior. Hailey’s distaste for California
traffic stems from my experience a few years back as well. LOL. Guess if I’m going
to complete the sequel, I’ll need to road trip again. J
When Hailey stumbles upon a backpack full of money on her nightly
jog, she is forced to flee the security of her secret identity.
Although the sudden appearance of a man that had been flirting
with her earlier seems odd, Hailey accepts Parker’s help in getting the heavy bag
home. Within moments of arriving, they escape under gunfire. The men it was intended
for want it back, and Hailey has now made herself a target.
Safe in a motel room, the two of them discover the truth: although
their meeting was an accident, Parker had been involved in the bag’s drop and she
had been his assignment all along. Now, getting Hailey away safely is Parker’s new
mission. Together they struggle to put together the pieces of Hailey’s past and
discover that they have more in common than they thought.
Being on the run, keeping Hailey’s family safe, and searching
for clues to put away the man that wants her dead are hard enough. Falling in love
in the middle of it all was the last thing either one of them expected.

    Birthplace: New
    York State
    Profession: Carpenter
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human):
    Describe his/her body
build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples,
    freckles, or scars:
Jake is tall and lean, with dark brown hair that creeps
over his shirt collar. He is tanned from working outdoors.
    Who is the significant
    other in your character’s life?
Shannon Chase – a woman who literally crashed into his life along
with her three month old daughter.
    What special skills does
    your character rely on?
Jake learned carpentry from his father and grandfather and relies
on those skills now to support himself.
What does he have a knack
    for doing?
    Taking care of other people.
    Does this character see
morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
His once well-defined views on morality are challenged and shift
because of his forced exile into witness protection and his growing attraction to
    Shannon.
    If someone from your character’s
past showed up, who would he most want it to be, and why? OR who would he most NOT
want it to be, and why?
He would not be happy to see Lou Crowley–the former priest who
is now trying to kill him.
Can your hero keep a secret?
If not, why not? If yes, why?
Jake is a walking secret. In his former life as Father Steve
Avery, he became a key witness in a child-trafficking case. With two of the suspects
still on the loose, Father Steve was placed in witness protection, living now as
Jake Garber in the Pacific Northwest.
    What inner doubt causes
    your character the most difficulty?
After having Shannon Chase and her baby come into his life, Jake

    What is your character’s

and her infant daughter, Bailey. He risks letting this woman into his home and his
    heart.

    hopes and dreams?
He begins to realize a longing for his own family, something
he can never have if he returns to the priesthood when the Federal case is resolved.
    What is your hero’s breaking
    point?
When he begins to doubt that Shannon
    has been honest with him.
Who in his life has the
power to hurt this character the most? Why?
    Shannon. Because he has fallen
    in love with her.

Bonus: Questions for you to ask your character.

    Jake, what is your favorite
    meal?
Give me a nice thick steak, medium rare and an ice cold beer
    and I’m happy.
    When you went into the
Witness Protection Program, you had to take on a new line of work. You chose carpentry.
    Why?
My grandfather was a master carpenter. And woodworking is my
dad’s hobby. I learned from them and enjoy creating things that will mean something
to people for generations to come.
    What drives you in life?
The desire to do something meaningful, something that makes a
    difference.

About Your Writer: Questions for your character to answer about you.

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Well, it’s not every day you meet a priest in the witness protection
program. I guess my story intrigued her. That along with the varied possibilities
of how everything could turn out.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
That I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to weaponry. I rely on
    my Louisville Slugger for self-defense.
    Was there anything your
writer discovered about you that was a surprise to one or both of you?
Yep. We were both surprised by the intensity of my attraction
    to Shannon.
When your writer is writing about you, what do you think makes
    your writer the most happy?
She just loved digging into my emotions. Someone should tell
her us guys aren’t too fond of that. And she just couldn’t keep her nose out of
the relationship I have with Shannon. She
was gleefully determined to get the two of us together.
    What makes your writer
    the most sad?
Even though my story has a happy ending, I know Linda was sad
to write those last two words. I think she enjoyed being in my company. (Maybe I’ll
have to whisper another story line in her ear some day.)
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
She’s a story teller, that’s for sure. She seemed to thoroughly
enjoy dragging the fine details of my life and my struggles out of me. If she weren’t
a writer, she’d make a pretty good therapist. Or a sadist, since she managed to
put me into a few heart-stopping situations.
