April is desperate to eliminate her dad’s cancer bills so her family can enjoy the holidays. But, on her way to get legal assistance, she ends up at the wrong house. There, she finds a warm and caring soul… but a boyfriend won’t solve her family’s financial issues.

Jake is surprised to find a beautiful woman on his doorstep asking for help. It’s a case of mistaken identity, but after spending just a little time with April, he knows they are perfect for each other—even if she does have bad taste in football teams. Except April is facing an uphill battle, and he believes he has nothing of real value to offer. Or does he?

One wrong turn might just end up turning a Christmas crisis into a Christmas miracle.

What’s your favorite down-home family style meal?

I love pork chops with gravy, homemade mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. Just like Mom makes.

What is your go-to meal when you dine out?

I’m not very adventurous, so I typically stick to hamburgers, BLTs, or Cuban sandwiches (my new fave). Yum!

What’s your favorite hashtag to watch on Twitter?

I don’t really watch for certain hashtags, but I do get a kick out of the Tonight Show’s “Hashtags” segment, so sometimes I’ll check out those for a giggle.

Describe the perfect vacation.

I like a variety of things in a vacation. The perfect mix would include equal parts of bumming around on the beach, hiking some beautiful national parks, and exploring the local haunts—monuments, museums, restaurants, shopping, etc. I love a combination of relaxation, beauty, exercise, and education.

Tell us about your favorite toy as a child.

I remember one family road trip when I was maybe 8-years-old when my parents bought a “Speak and Spell” for my brother, sister, and me. We must have played that thing nonstop for hours—it never got old (at least, not to us kids, ha!). After a while, I was even able to mimic the muffled, robotic voice and entertain my family long after the batteries died. Ah, memories.
