My love of reading romance fiction goes back to those early years when I was raising a young family. It wasn’t until much later in life I actually took up the pen to write my first historical romance, Wind Warrior. I really don’t fit into one specific niche. Once a story starts to flow, it’s only then I know what genre/sub-genre it will fit under.I have only one regret, and that is not getting to this point in my career much sooner, rather than later. Life has a way of setting up road blocks, which for me, was supposed to work out that way. Why did you write this book?I was generously invited by Roxanne St. Clair to write my own story in her Amazon Barefoot Bay kindle world.What is your favorite genre to read?I love reading Contemporary Romance and seeing characters develop as they navigate through their lives and relationships. I enjoy going with them to their happily ever after.Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?I just love Joy Ballard from Dining with Joy by Rachel Hauck. Joy is a cooking show host who can’t cook. Looking for a simpler life, she might just find it with Luke Redmond who’s asked to co-host with Joy. This is a beautifully told story of love, life, and reputations on the line.What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?My current wip is another novella, releasing in Carly Phillips Dare to Love Amazon kindle world in December. This novella is spicier and hotter. Why did you write this book?It’s book 2 of a series, I’m just not finished with this story, yet.What is your favorite genre to read?Sci-fi. Why did you write this book?I was invited to be part of an anthology of Regency Christmas stories. I write Regencies, and had always wanted to write a Christmas story, so this was the perfect opportunity. I did some research on holiday traditions in that era and next thing I knew, I had a story brewing in my head with a widow who wants to have her very first love affair, and a hero who can’t seem to banish his regrets from a past Christmas season.What is your favorite genre to read?I write Regencies and contemporaries, so I tend to stay away from those while I’m writing. Which means I usually read romantic suspense, because it’s not something I’ll probably ever write. I wish I could though!Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?I’m a devoted fan of Sam Starrett from Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooter series. He’s heroic, but with flaws that make you want to give him a cuddle or a smack, depending on how he responds to certain situations. I never get tired of reading (and re-reading) his stories.What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?I’m working on a few things – another seasonal Regency story, and another humorous contemporary, and there’s a long list of stories waiting their turn when these are done! I even got a new idea for a Regency series while sitting in stalled traffic the other day.
