    5 Easy Questions: Barbara White Daille @BarbaraWDaille #RLFblog #Contemporary

    The Sheriff’s Son
5 Easy Questions is an interview is designed to be quick, easy,
and fun. Today’s guest is Barbara White Daille.
Would you rather stay inside and watch snow falling, or get
out in it and build a snowman?
Stay inside. Preferably on the couch with a good book, snuggled
beneath an afghan and/or close to a crackling fire in the fireplace (if I had one).
Oh—and with a tray of hot chocolate and cookies by my side.
What was your favorite book as a child?
    Wow, is this a tough
question. I would have trouble picking a favorite series, let alone a favorite book.
    Really, there were so many….
But I’ll take a stab at what’s bringing back fond memories at
this very moment—and that would be Harriet the Spy.
I connected with Harriet because, like me, she always knew she
was going to be a writer. And I loved getting a peek into her notebook filled with
observations about her life and all the quirky characters she ran into.
What were you like when you were in school?
Shy, quiet, introverted, and with my nose usually stuck in a
book. Pretty much the way I am now.
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what
would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Since my hero’s a deputy sheriff and I would be channeling my
heroine, the ringtone would be an oldie but goodie: I Fought the Law.
    Remember that one?
Three-quarters of the lyrics are “I fought the law and the
law won.” And since you know I write romance, it’s probably not giving anything
away to say that…eventually…Deputy Sheriff Tanner does win Sarah’s heart.
What is your go-to meal to order when you dine out? Your favorite
“I know it will hit the spot” item.
No-brainer on this one! My favorite dish is Alaskan King Crab
Legs with plenty of hot melted butter.
Because they’re on the pricey side, I tie them into a “reward”
for hitting an important milestone, which usually means turning in the manuscript
for the next book…or the sale of a new book…or the release of the latest book. As
The Sheriff’s Son had already been out in print and has just been re-released for
the first time in e-book format, I figured that entitles me to celebrate this book
    twice!

    The Sheriff’s Son
Why Is Tanner Jones Back In Town?
Seven-year-old Kevin has been a handful
for single mom Sarah Lindstrom, and when the new sheriff walks through her door
holding her son by the scruff of his neck for egging his car, she knows she’s lost
control. But can she control herself—and keep the secret she’s kept for so many
    years?
Tanner Jones has no idea Kevin is his
son—he lost the right to that information when he abandoned Sarah soon after graduation.
Just because he’s back in town doesn’t mean he can waltz into her life—and Kevin’s—to
pick up where they left off. But Sarah can’t deny the feelings she still harbors
for Tanner, and can’t deny how her son is benefiting from his attentions.
    When Tanner
finds out the truth, what is he going to do?

    5 Easy Questions: Raven J Spencer @RavenJSpencer #RLFblog #LesbianRomance

    A Perfect Dream
5 Easy Questions is an interview is designed to be quick,
easy, and fun. Today’s guest is Raven J Spencer.
    What is your go-to meal
to order when you dine out? Your favorite “I know it will hit the spot”
    item.
Depending on the occasion and place, it’s either pizza (Thai
style is a favorite) or chicken with peanut sauce. Italian is comfort food all the
way, in the restaurant or at home. When dining out, we have an Asian fusion restaurant
close by that we enjoy a lot.
    What were you like when
    you were in school?
The shy one. You’d never guess she’d grow up to write erotica.
Although, I was always reading or writing, so there were some hints. I wasn’t even
out to anyone at the time.
    Would you rather stay
inside and watch snow falling, or get out in it and build a snowman?
That depends on the mood…we have long winters, so there’s always
the opportunity to do both. It’s good for writing discipline as well, except you
know you’ve had enough when your friends post pictures of spring flowers, and there’s
still snow in your own backyard!
    What was the last movie
    you watched (home or theater)?
The One-Hundred Foot Journey. It’s a wonderful movie about overcoming
obstacles, stereotypes and finding what is really your dream. And food—it’s a feast
    for the senses.
    If you’re on Twitter,
what’s your favorite hashtag to watch?
I like the #MondayBlogs, created by author Rachel Thompson. You
retweet other authors’ blogs, and yours gets retweeted in return. It’s a great way
to discover new blogs and also get your own noticed.

5 Easy Questions: Cass Peterson One Night in San Francisco @casspeterson1 #RLFblog #erotic

    One Night in San Francisco
5 Easy Questions is an interview is designed to be quick, easy,
and fun. Today’s guest is Cass Peterson.
What is your go-to meal to order when you dine out? Your favorite
“I know it will hit the spot” item.
I try so hard to break away from this, but whenever I think a
steak will be cooked properly, tender and very rare I have to go for that one. I
know it’s boring, but a perfect steak with chunky home-cut chips and a salad is
just miraculous. And a bottle of good red wine too; steak’s naked without it. Oh,
and some French mustard on the side.
Would you rather stay inside and watch snow falling, or get
out in it and build a snowman?
I’d be out there, wrapped up and getting soaking wet. Snow is
my absolute favourite weather to play in.
    What is your favorite quote?
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
If the hero of your latest book called you on the phone, what
would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Blur – Tender is the Night. A creature of the night, throbbing
    and sensual, that’s Liam.

Business or Pleasure by Ashley Ladd @ashleyladd #RLFblog #LGBT

    Business or Pleasure
5 Easy Questions is an interview is designed to be quick, easy,
and fun. Today’s guest is Ashley Ladd.
What is your go-to meal to order when you dine out? Your favorite
“I know it will hit the spot” item.
Tijuana Flats salad with black beans and lots of salsa. Either
that or Tijuana Flats chicken chimichanga wet with verde sauce.
What were you like when you were in school?
Pretty shy and introverted. At least I thought so then, but looking
back, although I wasn’t in the In Crowd, I had a lot of friends. Still, I was the
high school newsletter co-editor, media news reporter, and 2nd lieutenant on our
Flag Corps squad. I was an A-B student without trying too hard. When I got into
college and actually tried, I was almost a straight A student.
Would you rather stay inside and watch snow falling, or get
out in it and build a snowman?
I love to go outside and build snowmen. Sadly, I live in South
Florida (which I just saw termed as “America’s wang”). I’m from Cincinnati,
Ohio, and about ten years ago when I went home to visit my Dad in February,
there was a pitiful snowfall. However, it was the best I’d seen in years, so I went
outside and built this pathetic little snowman. Before I knew it, Dad was outside
helping me. I haven’t had so much fun in ages. I really wish I could find the pictures
we took of our snowman building adventure.
    What is your favorite quote?
Live long and prosper (Spock – I’m a huge Trekkie)
What was your favorite book as a child?
I loved Nancy Drew mysteries. When I was about 12 I discovered
Harlequin romances and loved those, too. I can’t recall the name of any one particular
    book.

    About the Book

    Title: Business or Pleasure
    Genre: Contemporary erotic male-male romance
    Author: Ashley Ladd
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Guy Rogers is extremely attracted to his new realtor, Tom Beaudreaux.
As a passionate vegetarian and animal activist, he’s ecstatic that Tom is a kindred
soul. In fact, Tommy’s family owns the most popular barbecue restaurant in town
and if his family has their way, he’ll manage the new location.
When Guy finds out that Tommy eats meat and his family owns a
restaurant that is a monument to eating meat, he’s livid and doesn’t know if he
wants anything else to do with Tommy.
But then Guy’s life gets crazy –his dad’s paranoia blossoms into
violent dementia, he gets arrested for picketing a doggy mill, and then he winds
up in even more legal trouble. When Tommy sticks by him through all his trouble
and does everything he can to help him, Guy wonders if he’s been too narrow-minded.
Perhaps he can learn to live with people who have opposite views.

    5 Easy Questions: Renee Reynolds @eenayray #RLFblog #RegencyRomance

    A Marquis
    For All Seasons
5 Easy Questions is an interview
is designed to be quick, easy, and fun. Today’s guest is Renée Reynolds.
    Who is your “book
boyfriend”? You know, that hottie you read about and drool over.
I should answer something classical and literary like Mr. Darcy
or Dr. Zhivago, but I’ll take any one of the Mackenzie brothers from Jennifer Ashley’s
series – especially mad Lord Ian. Dear good lord, how I could love that kilted man.
    Would you rather stay
inside and watch snow falling, or get out in it and build a snowman?
I live in Texas. When it snows, you bundle up, go outside, and
play until it’s all melted. You build the world’s tiniest snowman, slide down your
driveway on trash can lids, and eat the stuff when it piles on your car bumper.
We don’t waste those rare treats of snowfall around these parts!
    What is your favorite
    quote?
This one is a bit of a toss-up. I love to quote Shelby Eatenton
Latcherie from Steel Magnolias: “Remember what Daddy always says – an ounce
of pretension is worth a pound of manure!” That’s Biblical truth right there.
The other quote that rattles around in my brain comes from my sweet grandmother
(although I think she stole it from someone else): “Begin as you mean to go
on.” Making that choice at the start directs your path pretty well in a variety
    of situations.
    What was your favorite
    book as a child?
I reread Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink so much that I
wore the binding out my paperback copy, and left permanent smudges in the cover
ink where my fingers dug in while reading. Caddie was a tomboy allowed to run wild
with her brothers, and I loved living their adventures as they explored the woods,
creeks, and neighbors around their farm. It’s a timeless story about practical jokes,
    family, and growing up.
    What was the last movie
    you watched (home or theater)?
I watched The Awakening on Netflix just last weekend. It was
a terrific little horror flick set in post-WWI England about a published author
who exposes charlatans who claim to commune with the dead. She’s called to investigate
supposed supernatural phenomena at a boarding school, and is shocked to discover
things that cannot be explained. She begins to question everything she thought was
rational about the world. I love period pieces, England, and a good scare. Two thumbs
    up!

    About the Book

Title A Marquis For All Seasons
    Genre Historical Romance
    Author Renée Reynolds
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG
She wants one more season to pass without acquiring a husband.
Lady Miranda Leighton accepts she will have to marry someday,
but she wants one last season to be mistress of her own life – to go where she wants,
when she wants, with whomever she wants. The lure of one more adventure is nearly
irresistible. Unfortunately, her family has run out of patience as she unintentionally
loosely courts scandal. She needs a plan, and needs it quickly.
He wants one more season to pass without his mother nagging,
debutantes stalking, or sanity deserting him.
Roman de Courtenay, Marquis of Stafford, accepts he will have
to marry someday, but his immediate focus is set on managing his estates, pacifying
his family, and being otherwise left alone. The lure of saddling his horse and fleeing
to the country is nearly irresistible. Unfortunately, his mother wants him to find
his marchioness, produce an heir, and let her settle into an anticipated and comfortable
life as a dowager. He needs a plan, and needs it quickly.
Thus a lady and a lord with a similar problem hatch a mischievous
scheme: to use each other as shields against marriage and the plans of their families,
with a dance here and a meaningful look there. All goes well – for a time – until
the constant company and camaraderie of their ruse give rise to some very real feelings.
What happens when you set out to fool society, but only end up
    fooling yourselves?
