What’s ahead on Romance Lives Forever in 2023? 29 interviews for new books and your backlist #RLFblog #Books #Authors

What's ahead on Romance Lives Forever in 2023? 29 interviews for new books and your backlist #RLFblog #Books #AuthorsIn 2023 the Romance Lives Forever blog will offer 29 different interviews. Download one that fits you or your characters. Think of ways you can leverage your book and get more than one interview out of the story. For example, sign up for a Book Release one month, then the next, interview your character about What’s For Dinner, come back the following month with Stressing the Hero/ine, and send me a Cover Love to use for fill ins when an author can’t make it. You can schedule monthly, and don’t have to use new books. It’s perfectly fine to use your backlist.

Here’s where to download the interviews. https://www.rlfblog.com/author-interviews/

I’ve updated them. Be sure to download the newest versions rather than use old ones. If you’ve been on the blog before, the info I ask for will be a snap, because I’ll have your data on file.

    Social Media on RLFblog

The blog uses the hashtag #RLFblog, and the hashtags most often associated with it are #Romance #RomanticSuspense #suspense #historical #contemporary #PNR #paranormalromance #paranormal and #SciFi. Readers here love those genres, but there are dozens more.

Twitter generates about 85% of the traffic to the RLF website, mostly because it is fed from Triberr — which did a great job. Because of my followers, the tribemates I associate with and their followers, RLF has a reach of over three million. The program works because it brings new readers, and reminds current ones of new material. It provides an average of 45 – 50 mentions on Twitter every day, and since each post has the guest author’s Twitter handle in the title, that means the guest gets mentioned too. If you aren’t using Twitter, you’re not getting the full power of this blog’s reach. Please consider signing up, and while you’re there, I’d love it if you’d follow me. https://twitter.com/kayelleallen

    Take Advantage of our Reach

Sign up for a book cover spot on the front page of RLF and take advantage of the traffic this blog generates. Did you know there are multiple authors who plan their appearances based on the dates of book releases? Why? Because RLFblog gets the word out about new books and helps authors get their name in front of readers.

    Interviews

RLF has over 20 different interviews you can download and fill out, or you can write an article. All the interviews have a space to feature your newsletter, and we use Yoast SEO to enable you to tell Google and other search engines how your want your post to be found. You’ll see the info near the top of each interview.

    Be A Keeper

Please join me at Kayelle’s Keepers, a Facebook group for readers. I’m planning to host takeovers and I’d love to feature RLF authors as guests. Join the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/kayelleskeepers

Meet Vida Li Sik Author of Remember Us #RLFblog #SweetRomance Second-chance romanceGroveling is the key to repairing relationships in Vida Li Sik’s new sweet second-chance romance, Remember Us. Can she get back what she lost?

Vida, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Remember Us.

Remember Us by Vida Li Sik

    Genre Sweet second-chance romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): Mild

Is about a woman who put her career before her family and turned to alcohol when the going got tough. Now sober, she sifts through the wreckage of her broken relationships to win back her husband and daughter.

Broken hearts. Can she get back what she lost?

Alcohol never hurt her career, but it destroyed her family.

Now sober, Paula lives with regret at the havoc she caused her ex-husband and now-estranged daughter. They haven’t forgiven her. Paula knows that’s true when Emma plans to get married and neither she nor Jonah tells her. As she struggles to piece together the wreckage of her life, groveling might be her saving grace. But will it be enough?

Jonah carries emotional scars from his turbulent marriage. He returns home to South Africa after spending three years in Australia. All he wants is peace and to look for new career opportunities.

When circumstances force him to “play house” with Paula once more, unwanted feelings of love resurface.

Can he trust she’s changed, or will she break his heart once more?

Tell us about yourself as a person.

What makes you different from other people?

As a mixed-race woman I find it easy to relate to people from different backgrounds and can fit in everywhere because people think I’m “one of them”. I’ve had a couple of encounters where people addressed me in their language and were amazed to learn I’m not “one of them” when I responded in English.

    What is your personality type?

What was your favorite childhood game?

What is your favorite subject to talk about?

Movies. I relived my childhood through my children and loved watching fairytales, and classic movies like The Sound of Music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the Star Wars Trilogy (not the ones added afterwards). We know the dialogue off by heart and often throw it into conversations around the house. I find movies an easy conversation starter; you are bound to find at least one you can discuss with someone.

    What is your favorite book?

    What is your favorite meal?

Pizza. It’s an easy meal that can be as healthy or unhealthy as you like. My current favorite is one made with a cauliflower base, and toppings that include bacon, chicken, avocado and sweet piquant peppers. Yummy!

Tell us about yourself as a writer.

What made you want to be a writer?

I have a very active imagination and can easily think of the beginning and end of a story. As a child, I used to write school stuff from the front of the book and draw and write my own stuff from the back. As you can imagine that habit didn’t make me popular with my teachers. My language teachers encouraged me to write essays, and the rest is history.

What are your favorite books for writing advice?

It’s not a book, but Janice Hardy’s website—The Fiction University.

What are your favorite reference books?

The Emotion Thesaurus and The Negative Trait Thesaurus by Becca Puglisi and Angela Ackerman. These books should be in any writer’s arsenal no matter your level of experience.

When you go to a convention, what kinds of things do you take along?

What’s your best advice for a new writer?

Make time to write whenever and wherever you can. Even 20 minutes on your phone during your lunch break can help you reach your writing goal. I used the following quote by Doris Lessing, “Whatever you’re meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible” as a motivator to finish my first book.

What are your writing goals for the next year or so?

I’m planning a small-town series with ordinary men and women from diverse cultural backgrounds who will all get a second chance at love (this is one of my favorite tropes).

  • Contemporary,  Historical,  Two Tips

Pick up cool tips from J Arlene Culiner author of A Room in Blake’s Folly by @JArleneCuliner #RLFblog #Historical #Contemporary #Romance

Back in 1889, when Blake’s Folly boasted three silver mines, many saloons and brothels, the adventurer, Westley Cranston, fell in love with Sookie Lacey a former prostitute. Their powerful romance was doomed but never forgotten, and the repercussions could be felt 130 years later. The six stories in A Room in Blake’s Folly tell the tale.

J Arlene Culiner, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Thanks for sharing two tips with us today, but first, please tell us about A Room in Blake’s Folly.

A Room in Blake’s Folly by J Arlene Culiner

Genre This book begins in 1889 and ends in 2022. Therefore, it’s a Western and a Historical to Contemporary Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): sensual

In one hundred and fifty years, Blake’s Folly, a silver boomtown notorious for its brothels, scarlet ladies, silver barons, speakeasies, and divorce ranches, has become a semi-ghost town. Although the old Mizpah Saloon is still in business, its upper floor is sheathed in dust. But in a room at a long corridor’s end, an adventurer, a beautiful dance girl, and a rejected wife were once caught in a love triangle, and their secret has touched three generations.

    Two Tips for Organizing

    1) Delegate. Why waste your own time on trivia? You can always find someone who is willing to do something boring in your place.

    2) Always put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Given enough time, any obligation will disappear. Who will care about your unpaid bills, your ironing, or your housework in 2076?

    Two Tips for Household Chores

    1) Use your foot to push dust bunnies and those unsightly clumps of animal hair behind sofas, tables, counters or armoires. Who’s going to look and discover how lazy you are? And even if someone does catch you out, do you care? Really? Why?

    2) Change your mind about dust. See it as a beautiful patina that adds atmosphere to any room and any piece of furniture.

Writer, photographer, social critical artist, musician, and occasional actress, J Arlene Culiner, was born in New York and raised in Toronto. She has crossed much of Europe on foot, has lived in a Hungarian mud house, a Bavarian castle, a Turkish cave-dwelling, on a Dutch canal, and in a haunted house on the English moors. She now resides in a 400-year-old former inn in a French village of no interest and, much to local dismay, protects all creatures, especially spiders and snakes. She particularly enjoys incorporating into short stories, mysteries, narrative non-fiction, and romances, her experiences in out-of-the-way communities, and her conversations with strange characters.

What is the overall theme in this series?

    Condemned by Secrets, Book 4
Marked as Queen of Hearts, Book 5 (not yet released)

What did you like best about writing this series?

Fear – the dreaded words “You have cancer.” Author Pia Manning @piamanning3 #RLFblog #CancerAwareness #Authors

Dreaded words "You have cancer." Author Pia Manning @piamanning3 #RLFblog #CancerAwareness #Authors

All my fears – of surgery, radiation, chemo, puking my guts out on a daily basis, losing every hair on my body, and dying – every one of them walked into the exam room right along with the guy in the white coat.

And then he uttered those words we all dread hearing: “You have cancer.”

    The world, your world, stops.

I know this from personal experience as both myself, my husband and several other family members have heard those words. I’m not sure anyone can say they don’t know someone who has been touched by cancer.

Sure, we try to reduce our risk factors – quit smoking, lessen alcohol consumption, eat right, and exercise – you’ve probably heard this before. Unfortunately, there are factors that simply cannot be minimized. Everyone ages. Family history based on genetics can be a harbinger of future disasters waiting to happen.

    That’s scary as hell.

One way to combat the risks associated with aging, lifestyle risks, and genetics is through early detection. No one (that I know of anyway) wants a colonoscopy or a pap smear, but the exams find cancer in its early stages. Other tests are simple blood draws, like the PSA (Prostate-specific Antigen) test, which measures a protein associated with prostate cancer.

The love of my life celebrated his thirteenth cancer-free year because a PSA test found his disease before it spread.

For women, a mammogram is the best way to protect themselves against dying of breast cancer. Caught early, breast cancer is highly curable. I have been cancer free for fifteen years.

This does not mean that I worry any less when the mammogram reminder pops up on the calendar every year. A parade of ‘what ifs’ prances through my head. Should I cancel this year’s test? After all, I can’t feel any lumps – not that I felt my tumor fifteen years ago. Neither could the surgeon. And there it is. The reason I need to make that appointment. I shove the fear aside and call.

In the years post-diagnosis, My husband and I have experienced the joy of watching our children fall in love and had the pleasure of welcoming their wonderful spouses to our family. We’ve played with our grandchildren. Hugged each other. There have been countless joyful experiences that, but for our screening tests, we might not have had.

Isn’t that reason enough to pick up your phone?

P.S. Still scared? That’s okay. If you’d like to talk about it, email me: at piamanning@yahoo.com. Or contact me through my website at: www.piamanning.com
