Zoe Sinclair from Coming Home by Rebecca Barber7.

    Interview with Zoe Sinclair

This interview is designed for your hero or heroine to tell readers about himself or herself. Answer the questions as if the character were talking.
    Tell us about yourself, please.
I’m no one special. My name is Zoe Sinclair and I live in Melbourne Australia. I grew up in a small town hours from here. My parents died when I was younger and now I’m all alone. The moment I graduated high school I left town and didn’t look back. I couldn’t. But leaving also meant I left my shattered heart in the hands of the boy I’d always loved, Spencer. I’ve lied to everyone. Any excuse to avoid going back there and facing what I know is waiting for me is just too hard. So I lie. Until now. This time I decided to go back and face the music. I don’t know why, but it just felt like it was time.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
My biggest inner doubt is that I’m worth it. I don’t think I’m worthy of someone like Spencer’s faith in my and his unwavering love. I’m damaged. I’m broken. The shell of woman. I find it incredibly hard to believe I deserve good things after going through so much.
Tell us about your significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Spencer McLaren is everything. I’ve known him my whole life. I married him when I was four and he gave me a daisy chain necklace. He is the most frustrating, annoying, compassionate guy in the world. He does have a bit of a hero complex, but because of the way his ass looks in those jeans he wears everywhere, you tend to forgive him for that one. At 17 I knew he was it for me. No other guy could or ever would measure up to him. I looked, I really did, but no one was anywhere near as perfect for me as Spencer.
What would that person say about you?
Spencer would probably say I’m the most frustratingly stubborn pain in the ass woman he’s ever me. He loves me anyway though sometimes he forgets J He’d call me Pippi and tug on my hair, like he used to when he was five. He’d bitch and moan about my lack of care when it comes to looking after myself and he’d tell you that sometimes I’m moody and he has no idea why. But he’d tell you I was his best friend in the world and he always knew, despite everything else, we’d figure it out one day.
    What is your family like?
I don’t have a family. I was an only child and my parents both died when I was way too young to say goodbye to them. Spencer’s mother Jenna became the closest thing I had to family. She loved me like I was her own. She’s my family now.
Why are you happy (or not happy) with the way your story ended?
I am absolutely devastated with how my story ended. I think the author actually hates me and did it to torture me. Although she promises all will be made up for before the series ends.

    About the Writer

Rebecca, one of four kids to her parents who are both primary school teachers, was born in Wollongong on the south coast of Australia before moving to the country with her family. After a few years of embracing all that country life had to offer, the family relocated to Port Macquarie with its white sand beaches. After a brief period enjoying the sun and the surf they finally settled in Canberra where Rebecca still lives today. But all through her childhood a notepad and a book where never far away. These days Rebecca is an avid reader, and when she isn’t buried in a book or cheering on her beloved football team she’s spending time with her husband Robert and their overly spoilt dog Levi.
What was your biggest challenge in writing this book?
Letting Spencer and Zoe go. This was so hard in fact I didn’t really let them go off into the sunset in peace. Instead I wrote book 2 and 3 just so I didn’t have to say goodbye just yet.
When writing the book, what did you discover about this character that surprised you?
When I wrote Coming Home I was shocked by how completely emotionally draining this one was. It tore my heart to shreds and made me have more than one ugly cry moment. Even though I was the one who’d done it, I couldn’t stop it. The characters ran away with the story and I was merely a passenger.
Are any sequels planned for this book?
Absolutely! Book 2 and 3 are already written and will be released in 2017.
Why should readers who haven’t picked up one of your books before give this one a try?
It’s full of real emotion. Good, bad and devastating. It’s not your typical friends to lovers type book, its real.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers?
I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart apologize for the ending. My sister is still made about that 18 months after reading it for the first time. I promise, if you stick with the series I will redeem myself.

Meet Lady Larkin Rosham aka Liar Larkin from The Herald’s Heart by Rue Allyn.

    Author Bio

Historical romance author Rue Allyn lives in southeast Michigan with the love of her life and one tyrannical cat, where she works daily on making Happy Ever After come true.

    About the Book

    Title The Herald’s Heart
    Genre Medieval Romance

Royal herald, Sir Talon Quereste could never love an overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative woman of dubious background who threatens everything he values. Lady Larkin Rosham can only despise a man who would deny her identity and steal her heritage. So why has fate thrown them together to solve the mysteries of the heart?

Introducing Lady Larkin Rosham aka Liar Larkin

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
Name: Lady Larkin Rosham aka Liar Larkin
    Age:  Twenty three
    Gender:  Female
Birthplace:  Rosham Castle, on the coast of Northumbria
    Profession:  Carter
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
I am of medium height with a slim build. As for the rest, Sir Talon Quereste describes me this way: “She possessed the most beautiful face he’d ever seen. A delicate nose flared in a perfect oval framed with fiery red tresses. Long, dark lashes fluttered over bright, exotically tilted blue eyes. A berry-red mouth formed an O. Ivory satin skin pinked over high cheekbones.
Who is the significant other in your life?
I was married by proxy to the Earl of Hawksedge, Sir Talon’s father, but murder prevented me from every truly becoming the Earl’s wife. Now that I’ve met the son, I can honestly say he fascinates me. However, I have my doubts that he is truly the man for me.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a fairly simple woman, thrust into extraordinary circumstances when my family was murdered by the man I was to marry. I suffered from what is now called hysterical muteness for seven years. When I finally regained my voice no one would believe me when I told them I was Lady Larkin Rosham, Countess Hawksedge. Instead they proclaimed me Liar Larkin for telling a truth that the murdering Earl of Hawksedge did not want to hear.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
There was a time when you would not have been able to hear my voice. Now, I would say that my defining characteristic would be clarity. My voice is a very clear alto and quite soothing when I am not compelled to shout.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
I’ve been living hand to mouth, since I left the abbey where I took shelter during my mute years. The abbess was kind enough to help me find a hut to call home and gave me a cart and horse to use in making a living by running errands for the folk of Hawkingsedge.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
That I may never be able to convince anyone of the truth that I am Lady Larkin Rosham.
    What is your breaking point?
Betrayal. The betrayal of men has caused me no end of pain and anguish, first my proxy-husband, then his son who claimed to believe me then thought me capable of murder.
What would you like to tell your writer?
You should have made Talon believe me sooner. We would not have suffered so much, if you’d given him just a smidgen more faith in me?

    Introducing Sir Talon Quereste

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Sir Talon Querest
    Age:  Twenty six
    Gender:  Male
Birthplace:  Hawksedge Keep, on the coast of Northumbria near the Scottish border
    Profession:  Royal Herald
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human):
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars. I have, according to most women, guinea gold hair and pansy purple eyes. (Snickers) As if any knight would admit to something so effeminate as eyes the color of pansies. My chin is square and my mouth firm-lipped. I’m proud that there’s nothing weak about me, physically or otherwise. I consider myself taller than the average man. Some say I’m too tall. I work hard, so my shoulders are broad, my hips lean, and my legs strong enough to sit a horse from sun up to well past sundown. I’m outside a great deal of the time, so I’m definitely not fair skinned. Is there anything else you’d like to know.
Who is the significant other in your life?
No one until I met Lady Larkin Rosham. She’s overly adventurous, impulsive, argumentative and not at all the sort of woman I imagined I would love.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a complicated man. My origins are not as straightforward as I always believed them to be, but Larkin helped me accept the truth. I get great satisfaction from solving puzzles, as most heralds do, Our service to the king requires that we be able to easily discern truth from lie and make decisions that may affect noble families and the kingdom for years, perhaps centuries, to come.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
Smoke, definitely smoke. My voice is deep as a man’s ought to be. However, I often spend weeks in the saddle alone so I’ve developed a very soft rasp.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
My service to the king allows me to indulge in pleasures and comforts whenever I have time. Sadly that is not as often as I would like. I have hopes that the king will reward me with a significant holding for the singular service I provided him recently
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
That I might not be as good and honorable as I believe myself to be. My father unjustly repudiated me when I was six just after my mother died. Despite the fact that I have little respect or liking for the man, his rejection has always been the source of self-doubt. I have learned to thank him, because his repudiation spurred me to excel. I might not be quite the same man I am today had it not been for his unjust actions.
    What is your breaking point?
Larkin nearly died once. I bargained with God for her life and caused us no end of trouble as a result.
What would you like to tell your writer?
You should have made Larkin more cooperative, less stubborn, and less impulsive. Honestly what were you thinking to have her as the love of my life?

    Introducing Hermann Weiss

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Hermann Weiss
    Age: 43
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Germany
Profession: Engineer/Inventor, oh, and add treasure hunter, which I love, not for the money but for the adventure.
    Ethnicity/Species (if not human):
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars: Looking in a mirror is not something I do often, but describing myself would be tall, dark blond with blue eyes. Abby says I have a stubborn chin, I prefer the word strong. The other day a young woman wanted my autograph, Abby gently broke it to her that I wasn’t Chris Hemsworth. I’m not quite sure the lady believed my wife, though I can’t see the similarities.
Who is the significant other in your life?
Abigail Carswell, or Abby/Ab for short. She is truly my other half.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
Thank you for having me as your guest today. I’m the youngest of two boys. My father was the brilliant engineer and founder of Weiss Engineering in Germany. My elder brother and my father perished in a quest to find the famed diamond sword in Viet Nam’s Son Doong Cave. People blamed it on my father’s equipment, but I refuse to believe that. I rebuilt the business and far exceeded anyone’s expectations. Engineering is my life’s blood, but treasure hunting is my soul. My heart belongs to Abby Carswell.
What is your viewpoint on wealth?
Wealth gives one opportunities, but it doesn’t bring happiness or love or give one intelligence. It’s a tool.
What past event causes you the most fear?
Abby’s capture and near sacrifice in the Yucatan. Outwitting an immortal took every ounce of belief in myself along with Tori and Reid. I still shudder when I realize just how close to failing we were.
What is your biggest personal flaw?
Self-preservation. But only when there is nothing else I can do to solve the problem, and that has happened twice. I like, in fact often feel compelled to be in control. Self-preservation can take many forms, it doesn’t necessarily mean flight. Although it did with Abby.
    How do you express disappointment?
With silence and withdrawal. I pull into myself. I don’t want to be around anyone. Even those whom I love.
How emotionally expressive are you to others?
You’re asking fairly uncomfortable questions here, at least for me. (Interviewers note: Hermann said this with a devastatingly wicked smile.)To those I trust and love, emotion comes easily. Germans can be of two disparate camps, either very emotional or not. There are four people in my life with whom I can be completely honest and open. My wife, Abby, her twin, Tori. Tori’s husband Reid and Alfred Choy. Each of these took time and tests to earn my trust, thus my ability to share emotions.
Who in your life has the power to hurt you the most and why?
Abby. I nearly walked away from her while we were on our quest in Norway because she was always looking for that next adventure, taking chances that were in my opinion, way too risk-laden. I thought leaving her would be the only way to hide my fear of losing her in some God awful way. I was wrong.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
I was introduced in Stone of Heaven, Book 1 in the Carswell Adventure Series. Viking Gold continues with Victoria (Tori) who is now married to Reid Hunter. But Viking Gold is really it’s own book, about what love it, putting those you love above yourself and of course the treasure hunt. It’s really full of twists and turns. L.A. Sartor can pen our stories any time.

Having been hidden all too long, her characters have burst forth demanding plot lines of their own and she’s found the more she lets them, the more they’re inclined to run wild.

    About the Book

Time and again their paths cross and attraction rages between them, but while Jack is adamant he’s not in the market for a serious relationship, Kate is definitely not interested in a one-night stand.

    Introducing Katherine Marsden

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Katherine Marsden
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Shropshire, United Kingdom
    Profession: Doctor
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
I’m 5’4” pretty slim, with a really great pair of legs, even if I say so myself. I think they’re my best feature. Although I know my hair shouldn’t be so long with me being a doctor, I really can’t bring myself to have it cut. I love to be able to style it anyway I please, but the humidity in America has sent it a little wild.
I’m blonde with blue eyes and pale skin which is always a problem when I blush. I light up like a candle.
Who is the significant other in your life?
    Sheriff Jack T Swann, he’s a darling.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
I’m a fully qualified ER surgeon looking for a little advancement and experience in my field. I’ve had a pretty rough couple of years. My sister, well she had a bad time and then she and her twins came to live with me. I was offered an opportunity to go to America for this experience I’ve been seeking and my sister really encouraged me to go. I guess she was ready to stand on her own two feet. Quite honestly, though, it’s hard being away from your loved ones. I really miss the children, after all, I am their second mum.
I’m a very capable woman, I know how to slice and dice, and we’re not talking vegetables here. I’m nifty with a scalpel, and the things my brother taught me in self-defense, I can only advise you to watch out. I wield a mean kitten heel too.
    How do you dress?
When I’m not in scrubs, which is most of the time, I love flirty, knee length skirts that I can whoosh around. They make me feel so feminine and girly which is not an attribute I can always have covered in blood, sick and guts much of the day.
On what special skills do you rely?
I’m an ER doctor. Without being too boastful, I must confess to being an absolute whizz with a scalpel, but one of my best skills is stitching people up. My sewing ability is next to none. Scars from my surgery will be minimal.
    What is your family like?
I have a fabulous family who I dote on. Mum is the sorter of all problems, whatever they may be. Dad, cool, calm and supportive. My younger sister Lydia, who I kind of baby. Lydia’s twins Rosie and Aaron who due to the most horrific circumstances, I’ve been their second mother since birth. I adore them and it’s the worst feeling in the world to leave them while I cross the Atlantic divide to find a future of my own.
    How do you handle challenges?
Head on and chin up. With a scalpel in one hand and a kitten heel in the other.
Who in your life has the power to hurt you the most and why?
Jack Swann. Because I love him so much.

    Genre Regency Romance

As a young woman must marry and become engaged in proper duties, art can only be an accomplishment and a recreation.
Despite opposition at every turn, Charity Baxendale dreams of becoming a renowned portrait painter. She is heartened to receive two significant commissions from esteemed family members, and when a rakish Scottish baron commissions her to do his portrait, she dares hope she is one step closer.
When Robin, Lord Stanberry, with whom Charity has had a long friendship, asks her to marry him, she must choose between marriage and her career. Robin is heir to a dukedom, and Charity fears that not only would she be unsuited to life as a duchess, but also that her burgeoning career might end before it begins. And besides, Robin has made no mention of love.
After his uncle and heir die, Robin becomes the Duke of Harwood. Never having expected such an event, he feels himself unfitted for such a position. He was perfectly content living as a viscount in Tunbridge Wells, writing a manuscript on ornithology. Now he must leave all that he loves. He’d hoped to have Charity at his side by the time he took his place at Harwood Castle, for her pragmatic nature and strength of character would be of enormous help to him. Should he have thrown himself at her feet and declared an undying love?
“Ms. Andersen has created a wonderfully intriguing cast of characters. THE SEDUCTION OF LADY CHARITY can stand alone but readers might find themselves returning to the first book of the series just to see what they might have missed from Ms. Andersen’s original stories.” InD’Tale Review

    Introducing Charity Baxendale

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.

    Name: Charity Baxendale
    Age: 18
    Gender: Female
    Birthplace: Tunbridge Wells, England
    Profession: Artist
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
Dark blonde hair–the Baxendale’s beautiful violet eyes and pale blonde hair, which has graced my sisters, bypassed me. My eyes are blue-grey, and I’m what they call a long Meg, tall for a girl and slim to the point of willowy.
Who is the significant other in your life?
I am an artist. I don’t wish to marry for years, although I my parents think differently. I know full well that as soon as I marry, my husband will take control of my life, and my career, which I am very passionate about, will end before it began.
I do rely on Lord Robin Stanberry, I must admit, more than I should, for company. He is the one person who truly understands me as we share an interest in art and ornithology. And I did rather hope that we might marry one day, and spend our lives quietly in Tunbridge Wells. But that was before Robin became heir to a dukedom. I could never be his duchess. The demands of such a life and the responsibilities would be enormous! I’d be expected to become an ape leader. It would put an end to my aspirations.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
My life revolves around my family and our home in Tunbridge Wells. But now that four sisters, Honor, Faith and Hope have married wonderful men, I don’t see as much of them as I would wish. My youngest sister is still at home. Mercy is almost seventeen. She’s beautiful and has a charming, lively nature, I just know that her Season will be great success and she will find a man to marry. And that will make my parent’s happy, as I’ve flatly refused to have one. I shall become the unmarried Baxendale sister, which I’m not entirely happy about. Mama says it will be nice to have a daughter at home to keep them company in their declining years. But I know she doesn’t mean it. She wishes me to marry as much as my father does, even to the point where they would consider a Scotsman.
    How do you dress?
I like pretty gowns as much as any girl, but I tend to wear an old cambric gown at home. Despite an apron, I always manage to get a dab of oil paint on my clothes. Mother is forever tsking at me.
If we could only hear your voice (but not see you) what characteristic would identify you?
Robin likes my voice when we sing together. But I’m not the most musically gifted in the family. That’s Hope.
Please tell us about your education.
Our governess taught us those things a young lady must know: Grammar, drawing and music, fluency in the French and Italian languages, geography, household management and how to stitch a fine seam. We all read widely. Mercy is literary one. She is writing a book.
    Are you book-smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
Reading books on art has expanded my knowledge of art history and history generally. Regrettably, there are very few, apart from Robin, who express an interest in the subject.
Do you get by, live comfortably, live extravagantly?
Father is an earl. I am fortunate to live comfortably in his manor house. We have excellent servants, some who have been with us for years and are now part of the family.
What is your viewpoint on wealth?
Money is of little interest to me beyond earning a competence from my portraits.
On what special skills do you rely?
I am always working to improve my painting skills, and have taken lessons.
Are any of your skills a source of pride or embarrassment, and if so, which ones and why?
I’m proud of most of the landscape paintings that hang in our house, but some of the earlier works are not quite as good. But Mama refuses to take them down.
What kinds of things do you always carry (in pockets or purse)?
A handkerchief, a small bottle of Mercy’s homemade toilet-water, a comb, plus a pencil and small notebook for capturing anything that takes my eye.
    What is your family like?
My sisters are wonderful, spirited women. Two have married into the neighboring family. The Brandreth’s estate borders the Baxendale’s. Brandreth Park is the largest estate in Tunbridge Wells. We often dine there with Chaloner, Marquess of Brandreth and his wife, Lavinia.
The Baxendale family is growing ever larger. Honor and Edward have a son, and Faith and Vaughn are expecting a baby soon.
    Are you close to family?
The Baxendale’s and their extended family are very close knit. Should we be needed, we will travel miles, on bad roads and in atrocious weather if need be, to help each other.
    Do you have children?
No. But I do want them one day.
Are you involved in your community?
I help my mother with church fetes, we have morning calls with the neighbors, and attend balls and dances held in Tunbridge Wells.
How well do you know your neighbors?
We are well acquainted with the people in the village, although in these modern times, families seem to move more often than they once did.
Do you see morality as black-and-white, or with shades of gray?
I consider myself moral, but artists most likely view things a little differently. To paint a man in the nude, for instance, would not worry me at all. I have considered asking Robin, but I cannot now he’s to be a duke.
How do others perceive you based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
I’ve been told I’m attractive. But I don’t consider myself pretty, I’m too tall. I don’t tend to give a lot of thought to my appearance.
Do you care about what others assume about you?
Yes, especially if men respect me less for wanting a career. It is very difficult.
Can you keep a secret? Why or why not?
I am very good at keeping secrets. I shouldn’t like myself or any of my loved ones to end up in the scandal sheets.
What secrets do you know about people around you that you do NOT share?
    That would be telling. J
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
That my life choice in life might cause my parent’s distress.
What past event causes you the most fear?
My sister, Faith was once kidnapped. I’d hate anything to happen like that again.
    What is your biggest need?
Right now, it is to gain a foothold as an artist. A very difficult thing for a woman to achieve.
What are your biggest hopes and dreams?
To paint famous and interesting people’s portraits. And to one day marry and have children.
What would help you face hardship and meet any challenge?
Support and respect from others. Some men are not always so eager to see a woman rise in any vocation. They believe a woman’s place is in the home.
If you could make any one thing happen, what would it be?
Right now my concern is for Faith. We all want her to have an easy delivery and a healthy baby.
What is your biggest personal flaw?
One might say my independence. I admit I can be stubborn.
When there is a setback, what doubt or flaw surfaces?
Self-doubt often plagues those who are creative. I have to grapple with it sometimes.
    How do you handle challenges?
    I get nervous, but I don’t buckle.
    What is your breaking point?
Should anything serious happen to a member of my family.
    How do you express disappointment?
I retreat into my painting, but I also seek my older sisters’ advice. They are much wiser than I, and share their experiences of life, sometimes with a good deal of laughter. I feel well prepared for the honeymoon, when I finally decide to marry.
How emotionally expressive are you to others?
I’m affectionate with family members and those close friends I can relax with.
When (if) you lie or are upset, what gives you away?
I try not to lie. I am very bad at it. I’ve been told by my sisters that I squint.
Who in your life has the power to hurt you the most and why?
Those in society who mock my endeavors. I dislike being looked down upon because I paint. Loved ones, if I feel I’ve let them down. Robin too, I shouldn’t like him to think badly of me.
What would you like to tell your writer?
Thank you for my happy ending.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
That your dreams can come true. Just as long as you persevere.
