    Summertime Dream
    Genre Contemporary Romance
    Author Name Babette James
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
The Fourth of July is over, but for these summer lovers the fireworks
    have just begun.
An unexpected inheritance brings business consultant Christopher
Gordon from Los Angeles to quaint Falk’s Bend. He’s carved a week from
his demanding schedule to list his great-grandparents’ house for sale and explore
his roots. However, disturbing family secrets and the sweet temptation of writer
Margie Olsson derail his plans, challenging him to seize the elusive dream missing
    from his hectic life— love.
A recent brush with death shook Margie’s life, but not her dreams
and she’s ready to move forward. Only, standing up to her loving, over-protective
family isn’t easy. Helping Christopher explore the derelict mansion and unravel
his grandmother’s mysterious past should be a harmless fun taste of independence.
But when her experimental summer fling ignites into unexpected love, how can her
small town dreams work with his big city life?

    Interview with Christopher Gordon

What is it that you want,
but cannot have? Authors call this the conflict of the story.
A life with contentment. A life involving more than constant
work and running. Contentment eluded me. I took pride and pleasure in my work and
my business successes, but couldn’t say the last time I’d been content outside of
those two weeks a year at Mohave. Even there, moments of contentment were hard-won
in the effort to downshift from work mode to vacation mode and then, all too soon,
leave and swing into full-speed work again.
    What’s your external complication?
In the story world your author created, explain what it is you fear most.
    I came to Falk’s bend to unload a house I didn’t need and didn’t
want. I was curious about my unknown relatives, but I only had a week to spare from
my schedule. The first complication was Margie. I took one look at her and I didn’t
know what hit me. Then there was the house! What a mess. Margie’s brother was an
arrogant pain in the ass, too. My schedule was sent into shambles, I found myself
falling for this woman and this town and the people. I told myself getting attached
to any of it was a big mistake. What did I know?
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Meeting Margie turned my tidy, well-planned hectic life on end.
If someone had told me I’d meet the love of my life in a place like Falk’s Bend
I would have said they were nuts. I used to think I wanted a cosmopolitan woman
in tune with my face-paced business world. I thought I could settle for like. I
was wrong. I learned I needed a woman who’d be my home and ground my life. I needed
love. Margie’s beautiful, sweet, optimistic, energetic, brave and smart. She writes
these great cozy mysteries and makes an awesome apple pie. She’s definitely made
    my life worth living.
    What is your family like?
It’s just my mom and I these days since Dad passed. She and I
are close and talk often, and I visit her as often as I can. Dad was career Army
and we traveled often, and while it made slipping into a rootless life too easy,
it bonded us as a family. I miss him, but I’m thankful for the values he instilled
in me and the freedom he gave me to make my own path in life. He understood when
I chose against following in his footsteps and family tradition into the military.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
I’m very happy with the way my story ended. I have Margie, I
have love, I have contentment, and I’m learning to make room in my life for things
other than work. Some of the facts I learned about my family were disturbing and
a shock, but it’s better knowing the truth.

    About the Writer

    Why did you choose to
    write about this character?
I fell for Christopher when he and Margie were just secondary
characters in my first novel, Clear As Day. He was the quiet friend of Nate and
Kay and so sweetly besotted with Margie. Originally I had no plans to write a story
for them because they were already married and happily in love. I was pondering
some backstory information for the new River novel when several ideas collided and
Christopher and Margie’s story took off like a firecracker. I had a blast learning
more about Christopher. He’s solid and kind, and has a good sense of humor. He’s
tough and dogged when he must be, and gentle enough to be the man Margie needs in
her life. He appreciates a smart woman and the quiet everyday pleasures in life.
He believes in love, and yearned for it in his own life.
    Was there anything you
discovered about this character that was a surprise to you?
Discovering his grandmother’s mysterious past was a fascinating
surprise and I enjoyed writing that story thread along with the main romance thread.
    What other character from
this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
I have a short story idea tickling me for Margie’s brother and
sister-in-law and their road back to healing their marriage. I really felt for them
and I’d enjoy writing their happy ever after.
    Are any sequels planned
    for this book?
Summertime Dream is the prequel to Clear As Day, the first novel
released in my River series and I’m nearly finished with my next novel in this series,
Love Burns, so fingers crossed for that one to be submitted soon. That story takes
off right from where Clear As Day ends. I love this couple’s chemistry, and while
it’s been a challenge to complete, I’ve enjoyed seeing their story come to life
as they work through their personal trials and find their own happily ever after
together. I have four other stories started for couples from the circle of friends
    in my River series.

    Author Bio

growing abilities. Her class cheers when it’s time for their spelling test! Born
in New Jersey and raised in Southern California, she’s had a life-long love
of the desert and going down the shore. Babette now lives in New Jersey with her wonderfully patient husband

Character Interview: Nate O’Halloran from Public Affairs @Cassandra_Carr #RLFblog #contemporary

    Public Affairs
Cassandra Carr, welcome back to Romance Lives Forever. We’re excited
to interview your character, Nate O’Halloran from the book, Public Affairs.
    Genre: Spicy contemporary romance
    Publisher: C-Squared Publishing (indie)
    Cover artist: Carey Abbott
    Length: 53,000 words
Heat rating (based on movie ratings): R
Two worlds collide, focusing on one objective – to save a hospital.
Nate O’Halloran is a PR superstar, an expert in crisis management
for his image-conscious celebrity clients. When his college roommate, now a hospital
director in Buffalo, calls to beg for his help– a cancer researcher on staff has
disappeared with millions of dollars’ worth of government research funds– Nate
agrees to help right away, though this situation is pretty small potatoes for him.
Val Chase, the hospital’s PR director, is none too thrilled when
Nate shows up; does it mean her boss doesn’t trust her to handle this mess herself?
Against her better judgment, Val decides she and Nate have to work together to save
the hospital’s reputation, though the explosive attraction they feel is making any
    actual “work” difficult…
What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
    Nate O’Halloran; late
30’s; PR guru to the stars
    Val Chase; early 30’s,
    PR director for Cancer
    Care Center

    Interview with Nate O’Halloran

    Tell us about yourself.
    Going All In

    Well, prior to meeting
Val, I was one of those guys who celebrities turned to when there was something
they needed to spin or to go away. Stuff like sex tapes, allegations of cheating…*wry
smile* Yeah, I know it wasn’t exactly high-brow stuff, but I was good at it.

    Tell us about Val.
Val is absolutely amazing. When I first got to Buffalo to help my old college
roommate and CEO of Cancer Care Center Doug out of a terrible situation when one
of his docs made off with millions, I thought she might be a nice diversion while
I was away from my “real life”. But through her I realized how empty that
    supposed “real life” was.
What would Val say is your strongest point?
*smiling* No doubt my good looks and charm. Kidding. Probably
how hard I work. I’m like a dog with a bone when I’ve got a problem to solve.
What would Val say is your biggest weakness?
Her. Very definitely her. I can’t deny that woman anything. I
even let her drive my ’63 Porsche. That’s love. *laughing*
What do you wish was different about your life?
I wish I hadn’t spent so much of my life doing something that
ultimately was so frivolous, in comparison to the work Val and Doug do. I wish I
had been there for more of the fight, instead of wasting my life and my talent helping
self-centered celebrities escape from their stupid mistakes.
If you were given your fondest wish, what would it be?
    A year ago I might’ve
said something different, but now- to cure cancer. Val and Doug both work so hard,
day after day, alongside thousands of other employees all focused on one goal, to
eradicate the world of a truly terrible disease. With people like the ones who work
    at Cancer Care Center,
    cancer can’t win.
As a child, who was your best friend? Tell us about him/her.
Not as a child, but I’d
love to tell you about Doug, who I met in college. I was going through a…rough time,
and Doug was there for me when I needed a friend, even asking his parents to open
their home to me. I’ll never forget that he was the one who never, ever turned his
back on me. So when he called me for help, it was a no-brainer. Of course I would
    do everything I could.

    Interview with Bryce Tarunson

What is it that you want,
but cannot have? Authors call this the conflict of the story.
My life and my lover, Ronan, back. Or at least that’s what I’ve
wanted for two thousand years. Shane has changed my outlook, though. I guess most
of all I want revenge on Tarun, the monster who made me.
    What’s your internal limitation?
Meaning, what is it about you that makes it so you cannot do what it is you need
    to do during this story?
It’s complicated, but what isn’t, right? Maybe the Ronan part
isn’t so complicated. He’s been dead for about two thousand years. My friends and
I have been trying for revenge against Tarun, but he’s elusive. In the meantime,
we dedicate ourselves to helping those who are victims, like we used to be.
    What inner doubt causes
    you the most difficulty?
That I’ll lose to Tarun again, that somehow no matter how hard
I’ve fought he’ll still overpower me.
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Shane allowed me to love again after two thousand years. Ronan
was my lover in my mortal life and when Shane and I first met, he was so much like
Ronan it was both painful and wonderful. I don’t know for sure if he’s Ronan’s reincarnation
and it doesn’t matter. He’s the man I love and we’ve been through a lot together
    in a short time.
    What would that person
    say about you?
I’d like to think he’d say that I proved to him not all vampires
are evil. He’d say he loves me. I know he does.
    What is your family like?
Brayden, Ansley, Rule and Guy are my family. They’re my brothers.
We weren’t born to the same mortal family, but we were changed by Tarun. We’ve depended
on each other, fought with each other and cared about each other. We’ve shared good
times and endured rough times together. We’re vampires, but I guess you could say
that in a lot of ways we’re a pretty average family.
    What special skills do
    you rely on?
Gut instinct. Mind control is a powerful thing and I learned
a lot about it from Tarun, but in the end I believe you have to go with your instincts.
    If someone from your past
showed up, who would you NOT want it to be, and why?
Wow. Tarun. He’s also the person I want to show up. Go figure.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
I’m happy to be with Shane, but we’re still in danger. Shane’s
brother is still in Tarun’s clutches. Even worse, I lost a brother–or it seemed
that way. He might be out there. If he is, we need to find him, so I won’t be completely
satisfied until we find out exactly what happened to Ansley.

About You: Questions for the writer.

    You have the length of
a tweet (140 characters) to describe yourself as a writer. Let’s see what you can
    do.
    I write characters I love, because if I don’t like them, I can’t
    expect anyone else to.
    When you wrote about this
character, what made you the most happy? What made you the most sad?
It made me happy to give Bryce some peace and happiness with
Shane, but it made me sad that he had to lose Ronan. Even I’m not entirely sure
if Shane is Ronan reincarnated, but I do know that Bryce was finally able to find
love again and I enjoyed exploring everything that brought him to it.
    Why do you write?
I can’t imagine not writing. Writing is so many things to me–an
outlet, a lifestyle, and an intimate form of expression.
What do you want to write
    next?
Right now I’m working on two science fiction romances.
    What other character from
this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
I truly wanted to write about Tarun and Adrian. It was so much
fun to give them their own story in Fangs and Floggers. I love villains and antiheroes,
so I really wanted to let Tarun tell his side of the story. From his vampiric sons’
point of view, he’s a monster, but like them he has a dark past and his own reasons
    for his actions.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
Thank you so much for your support. I hope you enjoy the stories!

Character Interview: Roman Cardiff from Love Entwined @Danita_Minnis #RLFblog #paranormal

    Love Entwined
    Genre: Paranormal Romance
    Author: Danita Minnis
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Amelie’s goal is the top of the jewelry
designing world. Her orderly life comes undone when jewelry tycoon Roman steals
her away on assignment to a remote English estate. He wants Amelie all to himself
but St. Clair Manor’s ghost has waited for her much longer than he has.
An unseen gunman takes a shot at Roman
and he blames a business rival. But Amelie and Roman are to blame, for falling in
love 200 years before in a time neither of them remember.
    From the heartbreak of pre-Revolutionary
    France
to modern day corporate wars, Amelie and Roman uncover a history of blood jewels,
    lust and demons.
When Amelie discovers her inner witch
she learns the real reason she was summoned to St. Clair Manor. Il Dragone will
kill to get her back. Amelie will kill if they do.

    Interview with Roman Cardiff

What is it that you want,
but cannot have? Authors call this the conflict of the story.
I call it Amelie. She wants me, I know she does, but her inner
demons won’t let go. I’m taking her to Yorkshire
where there won’t be an office full of people for her to hide behind. Just me, her
and about fifty bedrooms. Of course, I’m not a sadist; I’ll give her a running start
and wait until she’s more comfortable with her conscience.
    What’s your internal limitation?
Meaning, what is it about you that makes it so you cannot do what it is you need
    to do during this story?
All things point to Amelie being in league with my business rivals,
the Garamonde family. I sued them last year for patent infringement and now it seems
they’ve enlisted Amelie to take more of my jewelry designs. Am I mad for wanting
this thief? I might be, but then you haven’t seen Amelie. I start out to ruin her
rising jewelry designing career and then … well, you’ll have to see how it goes.
I’m just a man after all and her curves are hotter than Hades.
    What inner doubt causes
    you the most difficulty?
I must say I have always been a warrior of sorts. I’m a practical
man and never would have thought I was a Roman warrior when I first met Amelie.
We were sworn enemies back then, not much has changed in that regard. Add il Dragone
demons to the mix and I’m struggling to remember what they are, what they want with
my family. It’s frustrating, how does a flesh and blood man fight demons? If only
    I could remember.
    What’s your external complication?
In the story world your author created, explain what it is you fear most.
I didn’t have a fear until I met Amelie. Now that I know what
we meant to each other in the past, I know why we’ve met again. I am beginning to
realize a new fear: the Cardiff
legacy of lust, murder and blood jewels and what will happen if I can’t stop the
    cycle in this lifetime.
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
Amelie thinks she is all business on the way to the top of the
designing world. I have to laugh at that. Oh, she’s an excellent designer, number
two, after me, but that’s not all there is to life. When I get her out of that suit
and, say, into the secluded hills of Yorkshire,
she comes alive. Not only is her temper French but so is her inner witch. I don’t
think I will let her go home to the states.
    What would that person
    say about you?
Amelie would call me a playboy and rightfully so, but at least
I know how to have fun. As a matter of fact, I remember a particularly fun swim
session we had one late night. She tried to hit me with a beach ball. She paid for
that. Let’s just say it got me a bit closer to my goal, breaking down that barrier
    she holds up against men.
    What is your family like?
There is a tragic story. My mother died giving birth to my still
born sister. After that, my father lost himself in the business of running Cardiff
Jewels. When he died, I took over and everyone thought it would be a disaster. I
am here to tell you that a playboy can run a business and run it well. Just look
at my numbers. I have no competition. And, would someone please tell me why I’m
expected to get married just because I’m thirty-four years old and the head of Cardiff
Jewels? I know, all you mothers out there are saying; it the money, you need some
heirs. In good time. For now, what is wrong with loving women, and loving them well?
Ah, this question is for the men out there. I already know what the mothers think,
    thank you.
    What special skills do
    you rely on?
I am a wicked businessman, born with the talent to design jewelry
that woman will give their all for (and have). I am not boasting, I don’t boast.
I deliver. Did I mention my silver tongue?
    If someone from your past
showed up, who would you NOT want it to be, and why?
There is a question. I wouldn’t want it to be the High Priestess,
that snake charmer who I seduced one night in the Roman camps. The one who wants
my soul, the one who summons the preternatural enemy of the Cardiff family, the oldest demon who all il Dragone
serves. There is just one problem with keeping the High Priestess away; Amelie is
    the High Priestess reincarnated.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
Is it over? Read it and let me know what you think.

    About the Writer

    You have the length of
a tweet (140 characters) to describe yourself as a writer. Let’s see what you can
    do.
Paranormal romancer living in the wrong era. I’m more comfortable
around witches, soothsayers and ancient demons to conquer.
    Why did you choose to
    write about this character?
Roman Cardiff literally came to me in a dream and would not go
away. After three weeks of what I can only describe as my muse trying to get my
attention in a very busy, real world, I succumbed.
    Was there anything you
discovered about this character that was a surprise to you?
I always knew Roman Cardiff was a powerful man. What I didn’t
realize was his family’s connection to an ancient demon. As the story unfolded,
it was clear Roman is not just an ordinary man, he is a Warrior of Light.
    When you wrote about this
character, what made you the most happy? What made you the most sad?
Excited about Roman Cardiff’s jewelry empire and how it came
about from a dream his ancestor had two hundred years before. As that ancestor is
an important part of the story, it was that much more exciting to see Roman at the
    top of the game.
It was sad for me to write Roman and Amelie’s tragic past life
love story. It hurt as the truth does. I love these two and thought they’d been
through enough over several lifetimes, but that’s life.
    Why do you write?
Writing is my passion. I enjoy creating worlds. I can’t stop
    writing.
What do you want to write
    next?
I have a family who is bugging me. They have a ghost who lives
with them and keeps interfering in their lives. They love the ghost, he loves one
of their daughters and will leave only if she comes with him. That’s what they need
my help with so far. More to come!

What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
Sarah is a kindergarten teacher, Olivia works in promotions for
the National Museum of Canada, and Dani is a lawyer specializing in wills and estates.
They’re all about the same age at 29.

Interview with Sarah Stevens, Olivia Taylor, and Dani Dipietro from the ‘Left
at the Altar’ series by Jana Richards.

Jana:              Tell us about yourselves. Why don’t
    you go first Sarah?
Sarah:            Okay, sure. Well, I’ve been a teacher
for about seven years and I’ve been married to my husband Will for almost two years.
Olivia:             (laughs) Why don’t you tell the folks
how you met your husband, Sarah?
Sarah:            Funny story. He was the best man at my
wedding. His brother was my fiancé, the one who dumped me at the altar. Fortunately,
we can laugh about it now.
Dani:              As I recall, you weren’t laughing then.
Sarah:            No, not so much. It was the most humiliating
experience of my life and practically everyone I knew was there to witness my groom
become incoherent with fear at the thought of marrying me. Good times!
Olivia:             Unfortunately, I know exactly what you
went through, Sarah. At our first wedding, when Tony stopped the ceremony to tell
me he couldn’t marry me, I was mortified. But in a strange way I was also relieved.
I was barely twenty and I wasn’t ready for marriage, even though I loved Tony desperately.
I never stopped loving him during the eight years we were apart.
Dani:              If you never stopped loving Tony, who
happens to be my brother, why did you become engaged to someone else?
Olivia:             (shrugs) It seemed like a good idea
at the time. By the time I turned 28, I wanted a family, kids. Stuart was solid
and dependable, or so I thought. It turns out, we were both kidding ourselves.
Sarah:            Liv, do you realize that Dani is the
only one of us who hasn’t been dumped at the altar?
Dani:              (snorts) That’s because you can only
get dumped at the altar if you actually get engaged. I haven’t even had a date in
    six months.
Olivia:             I’ve got a feeling that’s going to change
    for you very soon.
Dani:              So are you psychic now?
Olivia:             No, I just have a good feeling.
    Dani:              You’re delusion.
Sarah:            You really need to get laid. You’re getting
    grumpy.
Jana:              Okay, play nice, ladies. Here’s another
question for you. What do you wish was different about your life?
Sarah:            I don’t know if I’d want to change anything.
My life is pretty terrific right now. Will is a wonderful, loving man, and he has
a fantastic body. Handsome face, buns of steel, six-pack abs. He’s the whole package.
And what a package he’s got.
Dani:              Sarah! There could be children reading
    this!
Olivia:             No, there’s not. Geez Dani, I didn’t
know you were such a prude.
Sarah:            Told you she needs to get laid.
Dani:              Is this gang up on Dani day or something?
Olivia:             Of course not. Okay Jana, to answer
your question, I think the only thing I’d want to change about my life is that I’d
like to have a family. Maybe not seven kids like Tony and Dani’s family, but a few.
Having a baby with Tony would be so wonderful. We’re working on it. And I really
hope we keep working on it for a long, long time. My husband is amazing in bed.
    Last night he–
Dani:              (sticks fingers in ears) La, la, la.
I can’t hear you. For cripes sake, Liv, this is my brother you’re talking about.
Olivia:             Well, he is amazing. In a lot of ways.
    (winks)
Dani:              Ever since you two got married, all
    you think about is sex.
    Sarah:            Yeah, pretty much.
    Olivia:             Sounds about right.
Sarah:            Dani, someday when you find the right
guy, you’ll understand where we’re coming from.
    Dani:              The right guy. Sure.
Olivia:             You haven’t answered Jana’s question,
Dani. What do you wish was different about your life?
Dani:              Thanks, but I’m good. I don’t need
    to change anything.
Olivia:             Do you mean it, or are you just saying
that because Sarah and I didn’t want to change anything about our lives?
Dani:              Okay, maybe there’s a couple of things
about my life I’d want to change. I could always stand to lose a few pounds. Or
    twenty.
Sarah:            The question was what do you wish was
different about your life, not your body. You’re always so hard on yourself, sweetie.
Dani:              Maybe. I guess if I could wave a magic
wand, I’d want someone in my life who would love me just the way I am, warts, love
    handles and all.
Olivia:             It’s going to happen for you, Dani.
    I know it will.
Dani0:            (grins) Are you having a feeling again?
    Olivia:             Absolutely!

    About the Author

When Jana Richards read her first romance novel, she immediately
knew two things: she had to commit the stories running through her head to paper,
and they had to end with a happily ever after. She also knew she’d found what she
was meant to do. Since then she’s never met a romance genre she didn’t like. She
writes contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and historical romance set in World
War Two, in lengths ranging from short story to full length novel. Just for fun,
she throws in generous helpings of humor, and the occasional dash of the paranormal.
Her paranormal romantic suspense “Seeing Things” was a 2008 EPPIE finalist.
In her life away from writing, Jana is an accountant/admin assistant,
a mother to two grown daughters, and a wife to her husband Warren. She enjoys golf,
yoga, movies, concerts, travel and reading, not necessarily in that order. She and
    her husband live in Winnipeg
with their Pug/Terrier cross Lou and several unnamed goldfish. She loves to hear
from readers and can be reached through her website at www.janarichards.com

    Interview with Samantha Brown

What is it that you want,
but cannot have? Authors call this the conflict of the story.
Hello, I am Samantha Brown, and I managed to persuade Sherry
Gloag to share my story, Name The Day, with you. In answer to this question though,
trust in a close and loving relationship is something I have fantasized about all
    my life.
    What’s your external complication?
In the story world your author created, explain what it is you fear most.
Close relationships is something I have learned will only turn
round and bite your butt. Therefore, I suppose you could say the thing I fear most
is losing my hard won independence.
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
When I first met Rafael Santini he was a pain in the posterior.
Always phoning up, demanding I paint his portrait in time for Christmas. I mean
I was booked solid and He refused to accept I would not cancel another commission
in order to fit him in.
But, as I got to know him, he intrigued and infuriated me in
equal measures. He loved his family nothing was too much for them. I treasure my
solitude. Don’t get me wrong, I like people, as long as they shut the door behind
them when they leave at the end of my working day.
It took me a long time to trust Rafael, and when I did, he left.
I was devastated. But his leaving forced me to look into my future with new eyes.
    I didn’t like what I saw.
    What would that person
    say about you?
Now there’s a question! *Samantha laughs*. Uncooperative would
be his first impression, because I refused to cow-tow to his outrageous demands.
Spoilt probably, because he has no idea how much work, time and effort goes into
creating an excellent portrait. As he got to know me better, I hope he’d recognize
my strengths, and probably, though I don’t like the thought, he sees my weaknesses,
too. He is, underneath that obsession to please everyone and to do it his way, a
kind man. I have a hard time with that. We argue a lot, so I suppose he’d mention
that too. If you asked him, I hope he’d say he liked me.
    What is your family like?
I’m sure you’ve heard about the ‘family form hell’? Well, that
describes mine perfectly. My father forbade me to call him by anything other than
his given name. From my earliest memory he has claimed, when he feels like it, that
he is not my father, and yet when something goes wrong in his life he never hesitates
to tell everyone ‘his daughter is to blame’. He is a controlling, and self-centered
man. And as I was to discover, those were the least of his crimes.
My stepmother, while pleasant enough is not a person to go to
when in need of a cuddle or support.
It took me several years before I could break free and make my
own way in the world. You may think under those circumstances I would find nothing
positive to say about them but I have. They taught me to be independent and that
stood me in good stead when I left home to make a life for myself.
    What special skills do
    you rely on?
I am a successful portrait artist, so I relay on my ability to
sum up my client fairly quickly. I have to be a good listener, which includes the
silent sub-text of any conversation they offer about themselves. Looking at my client
is not enough to see into their souls, and to create a unique portrait that depicts
the inner truth of my client entails reaching into the depth of the person sitting
in front of me so I can transfer that to my canvas.
    If someone from your past
showed up, who would you NOT want it to be, and why?
My former fiance, Harold, who accepted money from my father as
a bribe to marry me, and become my father’s heir to his business.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
Oh, yes. *sigh*. I love the seaside as much as I hate Christmas,
so when I found myself alone on Christmas day I jumped in my car and headed for
the coast. I didn’t relies Rafael followed me, but that scene on the beach? Christmas
has become my favourite time of year. I found love, heart and soul-deep happiness
and family. *Offers a huge, wide smile* Yes, I’m delighted with the way my story
    ended. Thank you for asking.

    About the Writer

    Sherry Gloag

    You have the length of
a tweet (140 characters) to describe yourself as a writer. Let’s see what you can
    do.
Since 2006, Sherry Gloag writes to
The Heart of Romance. Spanning the elegance of Regency to the freedom of contemporary,
    with a touch of mystery
    Why did you choose to
    write about this character?
Samantha brown turned up, gave me just a enough information to
catch my interest and proceeded to change her name almost every day until we settled
    on Samantha Brown.
Was there anything you discovered about this character that was
    a surprise to you?
I am a ‘pantser’ writer so everything about my characters and
their actions is a constant surprise, and often a real inconvenience too.
What do you want to write
    next?
I am working on several projects right now, One is a series of
storiesunder the umbrella title of The Magpie Chronicles, and the other is Born
Again. The first is based on superstitions and myths the second on the heroine’s
discovery that the life she held so dear was based on a pack of lies.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
Thank you for joining me on my writing adventure. I treasure
your company and love hearing from you.
