What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
Lady Alexa Vandercruys (aka Captain Dria von Carnelian), early
    30-something, scientist/pirate
Lord Alan Robertson, late 30-something, overseer of Gamma quadrant.

    Interview with Lady Alexa Vandercruys

    Tell us about yourself.
    I am a scientist first
and foremost. Though my family might wish it different, I adore science. It’s precise,
and there are so many permutations in things that you can repeat tests and get not
only the same answer but variations on the theme, depending on the test. I love
exploring the world around me, especially that of the Gamma quadrant, which is where
I make my home. The crystals found on one particular planet of this quadrant are
special to my family and to myself as I made my name with how they work and their
    practical applications in science.
    I take my responsibilities
very seriously, especially those of position within the ranked families of our society.
I might not always agree with how things are done, but I do believe in caring for
those without the same advantages. It does mean however, that I do find myself at
odds with those in power, including the Overseer of the Gamma quadrant.
What do you think is your strongest point?
I stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. I use
my abilities and my rank to better others. Perhaps I can be a bit rash at times,
but my strength lies in the fact I use my mind and my resources efficiently, sometimes
ruthlessly to protect those who fall under my protection.
What do you wish was different about your life?
I miss my parents desperately. Because of what happened in the
past, I didn’t get much time with them after I was ten years old. They were whisked
off for their protection and very rarely do I get to see them. Due to that, I often
wonder what my life would’ve been like to be raised by them completely and not by
    my grandfather.
If you were given your fondest wish, what would it be?
It would be to have a Federated Planets government without corruption
and that truly considered everyone from the least among us to the fully vested.
I know it’s idealistic, but if I could have that wish come true, it would be that
one- I think many things would fall to the wayside because there would be better
balance if we had a clean government where everyone was treated equal and possessed
    equal opportunity.
Describe a place of perfect refuge.
    I don’t know if I have a perfect refuge.
There is a conservatory on Hypatia, my home. When I’m there, I relax as it reminds
me of one of my favourite places on a world I can barely go visit nowadays to protect
my parents. Otherwise, my only other place of refuge is my bedroom. It’s a place
where I let go of myself, indulging in my passionate nature.
What do you wish I had asked you? Please ask and answer it
    now.
    Ride Me Baby
    I wish you would have
asked me about who annoys me the most. The answer to that is easy—Lord Alan Robertson,
Overseer of the Gamma quadrant. Well, him and his staff. I’ve tried for weeks, no
months now to get help for those in our quadrant who’ve been starving or promised
goods from the other quadrants, but have received nothing. Yet, every time I go
to talk to Lord Robertson, his second-in-command, Trag, brushes me off and dismisses
me like I’m a useless woman. Treat me like crap, will you? Just you wait. You’ve
just unleashed something you can’t call back. You won’t deal with one of the foremost
scientists in our universe? Then you’ll deal with people who won’t take no for answer,
people who aren’t afraid to steal from the rich and the greedy. You can deal with
the Pirate Queen, Captain Dria Von Carnelian. Long may she kick your sorry ass.

Interview with Aphrodite, Goddess of Love

    Tell us about yourself.
I am the Greek Goddess of Love, and I adore jewelry, and all
things involving beauty and love. However, I have recently grown bored with the
perfection of my existence. Who can bear to eat ambrosia and nectar every single
day? I decided I would entertain myself by helping mortals find their one true love.
And what better place than Regency London, where they are enamored of anything to
do with the ancient Greek world.
    Tell us about Ares.
I utterly adore him, even though he loves war, and fighting,
and conflict of all kinds. He is the complete opposite of me, which may be why we
are so passionate for each other. It is also what gave me the idea to play matchmaker.
Or maybe I should say “mismatchmaker”. It hasn’t gone as smoothly with
Lord Rakehell and Georgiana as I’d hoped. . . But I’m confident I can remedy everything.
After all, my reputation is at stake here.
What do you think is your strongest point?
    My persistence.
What would Ares say is your biggest weakness?
    My persistence.
What do you wish was different about your life?
I adore my life! I am having so much fun masquerading in Regency
London as Lady Aphrodite Carramont, with only Ares aware of my true identity. I’m
not sure when I’ll be ready to return home to Mount Olympus.
    It could be a while.
If you were given your fondest wish, what would it be?
That everyone would fall madly in love with their one true love
and live happily ever after. BUT, only after I’ve had a chance to be involved, of
course. It wouldn’t be much fun otherwise. I’m definitely looking forward to the
next rogue on my list, the one known as Lord Wastrel. He’s proving to be a bit of
    a challenge.
Describe a place of perfect refuge.
I don’t suppose I can say the bedchamber
I share with Ares, can I? Well, that is still my answer, even if I shouldn’t say
    so.

Character Interview: Nat Seddon from Burning Ashes @HLewisFoster #RLFblog #LGBT

    Burning Ashes
H Lewis-Foster, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. we’re
excited to interview your character, Nat Seddon from the book, Burning Ashes.
    Genre: Gay Romance
    Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
    Cover artist: Leah Kaye Suttle
    Length: 200 pages
    Heat rating: Sensual
Tagline: Sporting rivalry turns to passion in a tale of true
    love and cricket.
Blurb: Intelligent and confident, Australian cricketer Nat Seddon
is one of the world’s best bowlers. He’s openly gay, but keeps his private life
to himself, with everything under control. But on the last day of his team’s Ashes
tour of England, he meets Scott
    Alverley, England’s
promising new batsman. Nat tries not to be attracted to Scott, but he can’t help
finding the privileged young man handsome and endearing. Nat is tempted by a little
end of tour fun, but finds himself playing agony uncle to a virgin. Instead of going
home to bask on a beach, he spends a wet week in the north of England with Scott.
Try as he might to resist, he can’t help falling hopelessly in love.
The hectic sporting calendar is a persistent obstacle to their
growing romance; Nat and Scott are rarely even on the same continent. They make
the most of the time when they can be together, but the months apart take a toll
on Scott, professionally and personally. The possible solutions are nearly unthinkable,
but if they are willing to make sacrifices that will change their lives forever,
they might hold on to the love they found in the Ashes.

    What are your main characters’
    names, ages, and occupations?
Nat and Scott are professional cricketers. Nat Seddon is 27 years
    old and plays for Australia,
while Scott Alverley is 21 and plays for England.

    Interview with Nat Seddon

    Tell us about yourself.
Hi there. My name’s Nat Seddon. I’m a professional cricketer
and, as I’m sure you can tell from my accent, I play for Australia. I’m a fast bowler, which
means I have to keep myself pretty fit, and at six feet five, there’s quite a lot
of me to keep fit. I love cricket, but when I’m not playing or training, there’s
nothing I like more than curling up with a good book and a glass of wine.
    Tell us about Scott.
I know this’ll sound really soppy, but Scott is the only man
I’ve ever loved. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t a virgin when we met, but my sexual
partners had always been friends and nothing more. But then I met Scott and everything
    – and I mean everything – changed. I don’t
mind admitting I was a bit uptight before I met Scott. I was always in control of
my life and I didn’t let anyone get too close. We spend so much time travelling
in this job, I didn’t want the heartbreak of a long-distance relationship, but the
moment I met Scott, well…I tried so hard not to fall for him, but there wasn’t a
damn thing I could do about it.
Scott couldn’t be more different from me. He’s got wavy blond
hair and he’s quite slender for a sportsman. And let’s face it, he could be a catwalk
model. I still get shivers just looking at him sometimes. He’s the most beautiful
man I’ve ever met–and the scattiest. He’s so disorganized and he comes up with the
daftest ideas. You’d never think he passed his exams with flying colours at that
posh school he went to. But he’s also the sweetest, kindest man I know. He’ll probably
drive me nuts when we finally get to live together, but I don’t care. I love him
and that’s all there is to it.
What do you think is your strongest point?
I think most people would say it’s my dedication to my work.
I dread to think how many hours I’ve spent in the gym and the practice nets over
the years. I want to help my team win, whatever it takes, and I suppose I’ve brought
that same dedication to my relationship with Scott. I hate it when we’re apart just
as much as he does. I guess I’m not capable of doing anything by halves.
What was it like where you grew up?
    I grew up in Brisbane.
My mum is a doctor and my dad’s a barrister, so I had a pretty comfortable childhood.
I went to a good school and I had some great friends, so I really can’t complain.
I got a bit of stick when I came out, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Mum was amazing.
She was so supportive, whereas Dad…let’s just say I steer clear of my father if
I can. He’s never come to terms with what he calls my ‘lifestyle choice’. The truth
is he can’t stand the thought of his only son with another man. We’re civil to each
other for Mum’s sake, but that’s as far as it goes.
As a child, who was your best friend? Tell us about him/her.
My best friend at school was Andy—he’s a writer now and still
a good mate. We had so much fun together and got into all sorts of scrapes. I told
Andy I was gay when we were fifteen—he was the very first person I told. He shook
my hand in this really grown up way and said, “That’s all right, mate. Makes
no difference to me.” Then he got together with our other friends, Mark and
Barry, and they swore to beat the crap out of anyone who gave me any trouble. I
was big enough and strong enough to look after myself, but it was great to know
they were all on my side.
Describe a place of perfect refuge.
That would have to be Honeysuckle Cottage, Scott’s parents’ place
in the Lake District. We went there the day after
we met, and we really got to know each other there. It was where we made love for
the first time too, and you never forget that. There’s an open fire and cozy sofas,
and shelves overflowing with books. The views of the countryside are breathtaking,
and the housekeeper, Mrs B, keeps the fridge stocked with delicious food, which
Scott is only too happy to cook. So I’d be glad to hide away with Scott in Honeysuckle
Cottage any time. Good food, good books and the man I love. What more could a guy
    want?

yours, hunt him down and make him sorry.

    Blurb:

Alex Bremen is over Chance Ralan. Ever since his high school
boyfriend ditched him nine years ago, Alex has barely thought of Chance at all.
Sure, Alex attended a concert or two when his ex’s band, Armageddon Showdown, was
in the area, but that was more curiosity than anything else. Who wouldn’t want to
see firsthand how his once clean-cut boyfriend transformed into a pierced and tattooed
    heavy metal god?
But when Chance has the nerve to record a love song Alex wrote
for him years ago, Alex crosses the country to confront him. Revenge becomes a dish
best served sizzling hot. The two men lock horns, but find the chemistry between
them has only intensified with time, and occasionally love needs to do some growing

What are your main characters’ names, ages, and occupations?
Chance Ralan is a twenty-eight year-old lead singer and guitarist
for the heavy metal band, Armageddon Showdown.
Alex Bremen is the same age, and is an up-and-coming documentary
    film producer.

    Interview with Chance Ralan

    Tell us about yourself.
Hi. My name is Chance and I’m a recovering alcoholic. Oh, wait.
    Wrong place for that.
    Tell us about Alex.
Well, he’s hot as hell, for one thing.
Actually, he’s too good to me, but at the same time, he doesn’t
put up with my shit. It works, ya know? He makes me a better person, which is pretty
much how the whole partner thing goes, I guess. Whenever I step on my own dick,
he’s the first one to point it out, but also the first one to kiss it and make it
    better.
What do you think is your strongest point?
Being a killer musician, for sure.
What would Alex say is your strongest point?
Ummm…how great my ass looks in leather? I don’t know. Maybe my
    drive to succeed.
What would Alex say is your biggest weakness?
I’ve been accused of being selfish once or twice. Yeah, probably
being full of myself. But, I mean, can you blame me?
What was it like where you grew up?
    Newburg, New York?
Honestly, it was kind of a hole, if you know what I mean. Some rough crowds. Some
crime. So you get into your own group of assholes and ride it out. Strength in numbers
and all that. Sticking out too far was never a good plan.
What do you wish was different about your life?
If I had a time machine, I guess I’d…ah fuck. Don’t make me answer
that. I’m pretty sure saying that I’d do the same shit over again would only get
me in trouble, and I’m not so sure I’d change.
Describe a place of perfect refuge.
I’d love my own island. White sand,
tiki hut with all the amenities. Just peace and quiet until I feel like making some
noise with my guitar. I wanna play a concert for a bunch of fishes. And Alex. He’d
be one of my amenities.                  Maybe
the dog could come too. Maybe.

Olivia St. Germaine is 26 years of age. She has no formal occupation.
William “Lazarus” Prescott is 28 years of age. He leads a band of
    thieves.

    Interview

Tell us about your story’s world. What is it like in this
    period or place?
An Unexpected Gift takes place in London during the Regency period. It shows a side
    of life in London
outside those of the aristocracy. Both Olivia and Lazarus live on the very fringes
    of Society.
What inspired you to write this book?
I was asked to write a novella for my publisher’s Love Letters
line. In writing that story, Lazarus appeared on the page larger than life. I had
a hard time controlling him and keeping him from taking over the story. It only
made sense that I tell his story as well.
Which character in your current book do you think readers
    will like the most? Why?
I think Lazarus would the favorite. While he does things that
aren’t necessarily legal and right, he does them with the best of intentions. He
goes out of his way to protect those he considers his family and is loyal to a fault.
When you’re not writing, what would we find you doing?
I love to bake bread. I find the whole process of kneading the
dough to be very relaxing. It’s also a great way to work out scene in my head while
doing something constructive. Of course, the smell of freshly baked bread filling
the house isn’t a bad thing either.
Are you a plotter, or do you prefer to make it up on the spur
    of the moment?
I say I’m a combination of both. I write two to three sentence
paragraphs detailing the main points of each chapter, but other than that, I let
my characters have free reign and write where they take me.
    What’s your writing schedule like?
I write Monday through Friday for approximately an hour and half
when I get home from my day job. I have a weekly goal of twenty-five pages of new
material each week. It helps keep me on track and not lose the threads of the story.
When an idea hits you, what do you do to capture it?
I have a notebook where I jot down the idea, character names,
plot points, any scenes or snippets of dialogue and anything else that comes to
me. If I’m out, I have a small pocket sized notebook I keep in my purse for the
same thing, though I have been known to write on the paper napkins when at a restaurant.
Which of your books was the hardest to write and why?
My novella The Muse was the hardest to write. It was the first
short story I’d written and I had a hard time keeping it within the word count requirements
to be a novella. I kept having to go back and delete subplots and the like.
What are you currently reading for fun? Anything for research?
I’m currently reading Fifth Grave Past The Light by Darynda Jones.
It’s the fifth book in her Charley Davidson series. If you haven’t read any of them
yet, I highly recommend them, but read them in order. For research purposes, I’m
reading The Man Who Broke Napoleon’s Codes: The True Story of A Forgotten Hero in
    Wellington’s Army
    by Mark Urban.
    Do you believe in luck?
I do believe in luck but at the same time, I think we make our
own luck by taking advantage of opportunities presented to us.
What kind of music do you listen to while driving? Same question
    when writing?
When I’m in the car, I usually listen to whatever’s currently
popular on the radio station. When I’m writing, I listen to classical music.
Do you play any musical instruments?
I play the violin and a tiny bit of the piano. I would like to
take formal piano lessons some day.
    What’s your favorite movie?
I have two favorite movies – Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and
I Am Sam. Sean Penn was amazing.

    Interview with Nathaniel Clairmont:

I’m excited that Captain Nathaniel Clairmont is here to chat
with us for a bit. I’ve pulled him from the pages but he can’t stay long. He’s
the handsome hero from No Turning Back, a respected ship captain, friend and breeder
of horses; he loves to ride, but loves the ocean just as much. And here’s a secret
    – he’s also a Duke!
    Nathan, your home in Scarborough,
England sounds like a wonderful place, overlooking the ocean. How long has the castle
    been in your family?
The fortress has been in my family for over one hundred years.
A castle’s structure is cold and damp so I do what I can to keep it warm and comfortable
inside. I’ve done some reconstruction inside and out due to the age so it won’t
crumble down around me. I’ve collected tapestries from around the world and those
hang on the walls to help keep the heat inside. I enjoy walking out on the parapets
that look out onto the water, to listen to the crashing waves on warm summer evening.
    With all your travels
and time at court with the King, I envision all types of women wanting to get to
know you better. Tell us what you look for in a woman who might interest you.
*Nathan rubs his chin as he thinks about an answer* I would have
to start with height. I like tall women, with a nice smile but doesn’t constantly
giggle and chatter. Is that a good start? I want to be able to read her eyes, the
windows to a woman’s soul. I’m a fairly good judge of character. I like a smart
woman who is able to hold a conversation; beauty is nice but there is more to a
    female than good looks.
Well that gives us a list
of attributes to start with. Our readers place themselves in the heroine’s character
you know; they all want to be in my story with YOU! Are you the type of man who
doesn’t like getting tied down to one relationship, play the field, so to speak?
    Never Surrender
*he has a deep laugh* I don’t have time to play the field, Deanna.
The King keeps me pretty busy at court or traveling on his behalf and when I’m not
doing that, I’m at my home where I breed beautiful horses. The woman of my dreams
will share that love with me. I like to think of myself as a one-woman man and our
love will last a lifetime, if I’m lucky enough to find that.
    So, have you found the
    woman of your dreams, Nathan?
I can’t answer that without giving things away, now can I. *he
gives me a sexy wink* I’ve had my share of women in my life but I want to settle
down one day, to have children, someone to leave my home to.
    When you’re on the ocean…sailing…are
you at home there? Do you feel in control of something larger than life?
I was raised aboard ships. My father took me with him when he
sailed and I learned how to read the water, to know when I don’t have control because
the sea takes orders from no one. A captain depends on a good crew to help keep
the ship safe and I have that in my crew. I trust them with my life.
    We all have enemies. Care
to enlighten us about a few of yours?
    Hmmm…Langley
has been a thorn in my side since childhood. We didn’t necessarily run in the same
    circles of London
society, but he did attend some of the same entertainment and events such as a local
ball or two. He was jealous of the ease at which I could talk with women and there
were a few females I guess one could say I turned in my direction. His jealous nature
is also part of the reason he can’t keep a woman; that and he’s bloody greedy.
    Nathan, thank you for
taking the time to be here with us. I know our readers have been thrilled to know
you a little better. Can you stick around for a few questions?
I can do that. I can’t wait to hear what questions they might
    have for me!
    We can’t be responsible
for their actions or questions, you know! So be prepared…we look forward to it.
    Again, thank you!
    My pleasure!
