Ashleigh Jessup from Leading Man by @elle_rush #RLFblog #romance

    Interview with Ashleigh Jessup

    Tell us about yourself, please.
Hi, my name is Ashleigh Jessup. I own and run Jessup Dance Studio
in Los Angeles, California. Have a seat but watch out for the crutches.
    *cell phone beeps*
    Please excuse me a minute.
    *reads text*
Nick – my boyfriend Nick Thurston – wants me to tell you that
the crutches are not his fault and no toes were broken in the making of this romance.
You’ll understand why he wants to clear that up when you read the book Elle wrote
about us. Actually, my twisted knee is what happens when a dance instructor gets
between two five-year-old ballerinas who are trying to prove who would be the better
    Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Authors call what you want but cannot have “the conflict”
    — what is yours?
I want to expand my dance studio. I’ve worked my ass off for
my success and now that it’s paying off I need to keep up the momentum. Unfortunately
success comes with roadblocks and they pretty much have me at a stand-still at the
moment. I also want Nick. Frankly, getting the dance studio will be easier because
that boy’s middle name is Trouble. Adding Nick to my life actually pushes my dream
studio farther away because lives like ours aren’t meant to intertwine but I’m not
    willing to compromise.
Tell us about your significant other, that person who makes
    living worthwhile.
Nick? Nick is awesome. He’s a second generation Hollywood actor
    – on both sides of the family – so you know he’s got the looks. Unfortunately he
also has the attitude. That’s something we’re both working on. He’s funny and generous
and incredibly talented whether he’s on the stage or in front of a camera. He’s
starred as Ares, the god of war, for all three years of Olympus and he is about
to start shooting their fourth season. Nick is almost perfect… I only wish the boy
    could dance.
What would that person say about you?
He’d say I’m sexy and intelligent and witty and that I’m the
best dance instructor on the planet. I know because we’ve practiced this question
    for the press.
    What is your family like?
I’m an only child. I think I’ve spent a total of an hour with
my parents since I turned eighteen. Next question.
Why are you happy (or not happy) with the way your story ended?
I’m happy with it. The very end was good but the part just before
that sucked big-time because… I don’t want to talk about it. You’ll have to read
the story. Let’s just say you don’t need drama in your life but anything worth having
is worth the effort you put into it. Nick and I did a lot of work on our own issues
and on building something together. Now I think we have a real shot at something
good in the future and we are definitely on the right path to get there.

    About the Writer

Elle Rush is a romance author from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
When she’s not travelling, she’s hard at work writing her contemporary romances
which are set all over the world. Elle has studied several languages and has flunked
poetry in every single one of them. She also has mild addictions to tea, cookbooks
    and the sci-fi channel.
When writing the book, what did you discover about this character
    that surprised you?
I’m very close to my family, and I knew Ashleigh was
estranged from hers. When I introduced her parents into the book, her reaction
    surprised me.
Are any sequels planned for this book?
Leading Man is the third book in the Hollywood to Olympus
series. I hope to have at least one more novel later this year.
What genre(s) would you like to write that you haven’t tried
    yet?
I’d love to try to write a paranormal romance – particularly
a shifter book – because I read a ton of them.
What would your readers be surprised to learn about you?
Every character I write has one of my personality traits. In
this book, it’s Nick’s inability to dance. I can’t dance. At all. Not even a
little bit. I have no rhythm whatsoever. In fact, I’m so bad that Nick makes me
    look good.
Why should readers who haven’t picked up one of your books
before give this one a try?
I think everybody has had a crush on an actor at some point
and I think the fantasy of having it come true will appeal to a lot of readers.
Also, Ashleigh and her friends are hilarious, their boyfriends are smokin’ hot,
and if readers like things a little steamy, this book can provide that too.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your readers?
Hi, readers! Thanks for your support! I’m a romance reader
too, so check out my newsletter for deals and sneak peeks on my books and for
recommendations about other great writers. Please feel free to say
“hi” on any of my social media accounts.

    About the Book

    Title Leading Man
    Genre Contemporary Romance
    Author Elle Rush
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
Olympus heartthrob Nick Thurston is a leading man with a problem.
His new play opens in a month and when it comes to the pivotal waltz scene, he can’t
lead. When he broke up with his dance instructor girlfriend, it also ended their
professional relationship and now he needs a new teacher. Desperately.
Ashleigh Jessup needs to find a new building to take her booming
dance studio to the next level. She doesn’t have time for a private student, but
she’s willing to make an exception to do a favor for a friend and earn extra money
    for her down payment.
Ashleigh’s success has come at the cost of her love life, so
she can’t believe it when Nick is good with them spending as much time on their
careers as they do with each other. But when Nick’s ex tries to sabotage their relationship,
Nick begins to doubt Ashleigh’s intentions when she benefits from his fame, and
Ashleigh has to decide if she’s willing to risk her business for a relationship
Nick may not even believe in.

    5 Easy Questions: Amy Boyles Rendered @amyboylesauthor #RLFblog #dystopianromance

    Rendered
Amy Boyles author of Rendered answers five easy questions to
help readers get to know her better.

    Author
    Bio

After living in Chicago, Louisville and New York,
Amy finally settled in North Alabama with her husband. Along with writing, she has
a passion for cooking ridiculously fattening food and complaining about weight gain.
She loves to connect with readers.
    What’s your favorite down-home
    family style meal?
    I’m from the South and
though neither of my parents are from the area, they relocated us here when I was
five. However, it wasn’t until I was well into my twenties that I started eating
the down-home food. My favorite meal, without exception, would have to be Turkey
or Chicken and Cornbread dressing. Dear Lord. If you’ve never had cornbread dressing,
you haven’t lived. Seriously. I’ve made it enough times that I don’t use a recipe
anymore, but if you’ve never made it and you love to eat—find a recipe and try it.
Hopefully, you’ll thank me for the recommendation.
    What is your go-to meal
    when you dine out?
    Dining out? What’s that?
I have a toddler and am expecting another child, so I don’t get to do that anymore!
That question just depresses me. Just kidding. If I remember correctly, my go-to
meal used to be Chicken Tikka Masala at just about any Indian restaurant. I love
it. From what I understand, it’s not an authentic Indian meal, but seriously it’s
so freakin’ good it makes me happy just to think about it. Eating some of that with
warm naan bread and I’m in heaven. At least for the twenty or so minutes it’ll take
    me to eat it.
    Who is your “book
boyfriend” (that hottie you read about and drool over)?
This is such an easy question!
Hands down, my book boyfriend is Daemon Sadie from Anne Bishop’s The Black Jewels
Trilogy. If you’d asked me this maybe three years ago I would’ve said Richard Rahl
from the Sword of Truth series because there’s something honest in his altruism.
    But once I read Daughter
of the Blood and experienced the raw pain and deep suffering of Sadie, I was absolutely
won over. His character undergoes such an incredible arc over the span of that book
—from practically broken and brooding to being someone full of wondrous joy. It’s
an awesome journey to have been a part of. And he’s so sexy! It’s not even overt—he
simply is. Oh! And he’s dangerous, too! I wouldn’t want to cross paths with him.
If you’ve never read the book. Go. Buy. It. Now. Sadie is worth every cent.
    Tell us about your favorite
    toy as a child.
Ok, so I had this Wonder
Woman doll that I loved. Adored. I also had Wonder Woman underoos (aging myself,
I know) that I wore as a bathing suit. Why? Because I loved them. No, I didn’t care
that they were underwear. They signified Wonder Woman, and that was all that mattered.
    Anyhoo, I had this Wonder
Woman doll. Loved her…and then I lost her. I don’t know where. I probably left her
in a store or a bathroom or something. But I remember that I dreamed about getting
another doll because I adored her so much. I dreamt that I received this gift at
Christmas. Funny thing is, I don’t remember if I ever got another doll, all I remember
is I lost her and then dreamed I got her back. Ha! That’s sort of the story of a
romance novel, isn’t it? Two people come together, then something keeps them from
each other and then they wind up together in the end. Amen to that.
    When you read for pleasure,
what kind of books do you choose?
    I’ll read anything. Mostly.
I read romance—contemporary, historical, whatever catches my eye, but I mainly just
want a great story. Something that takes me for a ride. I think that’s why I read
a lot of fantasy. I want to live in a world and become part of it, learn how the
magic works and be surprised by the twists and turns that great fantasy writers
    throw into their novels.
    What I don’t read a lot
of is crime/mystery/suspense. Not because I don’t like it, but because I’m not as
familiar with the genre. By all means, if any readers have suggestions for great
books in those categories, throw them my way. I’d love to have more books to fill
    my Kindle.

    About
    the Book

    Title Rendered (A Dark
    Revolution Novella – Book Two)
    Genre Romance, dystopian
    Author Amy Boyles
    Book heat level (based
    on movie ratings): R
Ten years ago, Drian Becker underwent the Rendering, a humiliating body
exam imposed upon the masses by her father, a commander in the Patriot Army. Being
a high ranking official’s daughter, Drian thought she was safe from the practice—not
so. Her father’s betrayal left her emotionally scarred and dishonored.
It’s now 2098. Drian hasn’t thought about the Rendering since she became
leader of a rebel faction—mostly because she’s an expert at hiding her feelings
behind a thick outer wall of badass attitude.
All that changes when Colvin Hinton walks into her camp. With his easy
swagger and even easier demeanor, Colvin makes being a rebel look good enough to
taste. But when Drian finds herself tangled in his charms she lets down her guard,
giving an old enemy the chance to take her out once and for all.
If loving a man is this dangerous, would Drian have been better off remaining
in the clutches of her father and living with the scars of being Rendered?

    The Cowboy’s Little Surprise @BarbaraWDaille #RLFblog #romance

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces
    the story.

    About the Author

Barbara White Daille lives with her
husband in the sunny U.S. Southwest, where they don’t mind the lizards in their
front yard but could do without the scorpions in the bathroom.
A writer from the age of nine and a
novelist since eighth grade, Barbara is now an award-winning author with a number
    of novels to her credit.
The first book in The Hitching Post
Hotel series, The Cowboy’s Little Surprise, was just released (April 2015) and will
be followed by A Rancher of Her Own in July and an as-yet-untitled book in December.

    Interview with Barbara White Daille

Why did you write this book?
I loved the idea of a matchmaking grandpa
and was so happy that my editors liked it, too! That was how the new series was
conceived. As for this first book, The Cowboy’s Little Surprise, one of my favorite
romance plotlines is the second-chance story, where the hero and heroine have had
a past relationship that didn’t work out and are now brought together under less
    than the best of circumstances.
A subcategory of second chances is the
secret-baby story, in which the past relationship results in the heroine becoming
pregnant by the hero, who never learns until the current story that he’s become
a daddy. When I wanted a hero and heroine for the grandfather’s first matchmaking
scheme, the secret-baby story just seemed like a natural.
What is your favorite genre to read?
         Romance!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including
    your own)?
This is a tough question as there’s
such a long list to choose from. So…I think I’ll regress a bit and pick someone
from my favorite childhood books—Nancy Drew. She solved so many fascinating mysteries
and, later in the series, traveled to so many wonderful places with her friends.
And she was smart at figuring out clues. I always wanted to be her when I grew up.
What are you working on at the moment, and what will we see
    from you in coming months?
I’m currently working on revisions for
book 3 in the Hitching Post Hotel series. It has no title yet but will be out in
December 2015. This is the story of Jed Garland’s middle granddaughter and the one
he’s almost certain is going to spoil his matchmaking record.
Andi was recently widowed and left with
two small children. Mitch is an L.A. cop recovering from an undercover op gone bad.
He returns to his hometown of Cowboy Creek to recuperate, and there he finds his
teenaged crush back again, too. He wants nothing to do with the girl who walked
off and broke his heart one summer…but of course, our matchmaking grandpa doesn’t
intend to let that stop him!
Please tell us about your latest book.
The Cowboy’s Little Surprise is book
1 in the Hitching Post Hotel series.
    The Long Way Home
A guy like Cole Slater is hard to forget.
Tina Sanchez should know—for years since high school she’s tried to bury the pain
of Cole’s cruel betrayal. But it’s impossible to ignore the man she sees reflected

child he never knew he had.
Returning home to New Mexico, Cole is
determined to put his playboy reputation to rest. Especially now that he knows there’s
a little boy looking up to him. And seeing Tina again reignites all the feelings
