Read Her Montana Man by Cheryl St John @_cherylstjohn_ #RLFblog #westernromanceDiscover #Heartreads: In 2022 I am taking on promoting my entire backlist of books at the pace of one a week. I realized early on that this is a big job, but those early books are still dear to me, and readers are still enjoying them. This week I’m talking about Her Montana Man, a western romance I loved creating and writing.

Cheryl, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Her Montana Man.

Her Montana Man by Cheryl St John

Genre western romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13

After covertly watching Eliza Sutherland’s daily walks to the tea shop and suspecting she has a secret, Jonas Black breaks his number one rule: He gets involved. He has never minded a good fight to clear the air. But she makes him feel out of control, and this time the fight is personal.

QUICK

Do you write more than one genre? If so, what are they?…

Yes, I write historical western romance and contemporary romance.

How do you come up with ideas?…

I usually have a concept that intrigues me, and I develop the most interesting characters I can think of to populate this story idea. Characters come first, along with their traits and flaws.

What is the single most important part of writing for you?…

Conflict. When conflict is the character himself, the story is stronger and there is more tension.

When did you write your first book?…

When I was fourteen, I wrote a book about a gang from beginning to end. It was really terrible and obviously adolescent. I could say that about my first few books before I learned to write to sell with a plot and character development.

FUN

Leather or lace? I like leather purses and wallets, but lace clothing itches.

Black or red? Kind of love black. Especially next to pink or teal.

Satin sheets or smooth cotton? Cotton all the way.

Ocean or mountains? Midwest girl here. Have seen both, but not drawn to live near either.

City life or country life? I’ve written so many ranch and farm stories, but I’m a city girl all the way. I want to run to the store or see a movie or eat out at the drop of a hat.

Party life or evening at home? I love gathering with family and friends, but I’m most often comfortably at home.

Dogs or cats? Both really, but if I had to decide…cats.

I agree–lace is itchy. I don’t remember this book. I’ll have to pull it out and have a read. :)
