Genre Historical Fiction

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): Mild

An epic enemy-to-lovers saga that embodies the classic elements of duty, honor… and unexpected love.

History is brought to life in this sweeping Southern novel when a renowned Confederate cavalry officer discovers that the woman he promised his dying brother he would protect, is the Union spy he vowed to his men he would destroy. This timeless love story illuminates the fine line between friends and enemies at a time when traditions and principles were worth defending at all costs.

This is the tale of Colonel Alexander Hunter, a dauntless and daring Confederate cavalry officer, who, with his band of intrepid outcasts, becomes a legend in the rolling hills of northern Virginia. Inspired by love of country and guided by a sense of duty and honor, Hunter must make a desperate choice when his mysterious foe falls into his hands in enemy territory.

Should he keep his promise to his brother? Or continue to fight for his beliefs?

Just when a truce appears to be reached, a misunderstanding takes place that starts a catastrophic chain of events. The result is a vivid, raw, emotional and poignant clash of personalities as both characters fight to defend their beliefs, their principles and their honor.

This moving tale of dueling convictions, impossible choices, and enduring love is destined for an honored place among the classics of the American Civil War.

QUICK

What’s your favorite book?…

The Scarlet Pimpernel

What’s a genre you want to write?…

I’ve written in every genre I want to write in so far, including historical fiction, suspense/thrillers, women’s fiction and Christian fiction. I never know where the “writing muse” is going to take me next.

Best writing advice you ever heard?…

Writing is as simple as A-B-C… meaning, Attach-Butt-to-Chair. No matter how much talent you have or don’t have, it starts with that.

What’s the title and genre of your first book, and where can we find it?

My first book was the Civil War fiction novel Shades of Gray. Duty Bound, the book featured in this post, is Volume I of the new Shades of Gray Trilogy, which is an expanded version of that novel. There are many “lost chapters” and new characters in this release. It’s available as an ebook on Amazon and the full trilogy is also available in print at Amazon and can be ordered wherever books are sold.
