Why did you write this book?

I am a huge scifi geek going back years. My favorite stories always have really strong ties between the main characters. I love the emotions and connections romance allows you to explore, as well as the joy of fated mates finding their HEA. I think we could all use a little more joy.

I also love writing fun, face-paced stories where the action pushes the characters together as they learn to trust each other. This book has a lot of that since Dierdre and Storr need each other to survive on an untamed alien world. I also love adorable alien pets, so I added one of those too.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Space opera science fiction and urban fantasy, both with and without romance.

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

The hard thing here is picking only one! But if I have to, then I’m going to chose Kate Daniels by Illona Andrews to stand in for all the kick-ass heroines I love. My scifi might not have magic, but it always features capable women. [And the sexy alpha men who fall for them.]

What are you working on at the moment?

Possessed by the Alien Warlord. Grol is as grumpy as they come, but he’s met his match in the small but spunky Kira.
