Welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Let’s play Is It True with today’s guest, Lisabet Sarai. This is a game with yes and no questions. Writers can elaborate on answers as much as they choose.

By Moonlight by Lisabet Sarai

Genre: Historical FF Romance
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): NC-17

I’ll come to you by moonlight – though Hell should bar the way.

In her eighteen years on earth, Bess has never traveled more than twenty miles from her Devonshire village. The raven-haired innkeeper’s daughter has little time to dream of adventure as she labors from dawn to dusk to keep her abusive father satisfied.

Then, at the weekly market in Tavistock town, she meets a handsome dandy who claims her with a single stolen kiss. When the gallant gentleman makes a midnight visit to the inn, Bess learns that her new lover is none other than Kit Latour, a notorious French highwayman who has been boldly relieving the local nobility of their valuables. Well-aware of the risk she’s taking, Bess still offers herself to the seductive outlaw. Even Kit’s darkest secrets cannot quench the flames of her love.

Is it true:

this is your first book?

Definitely not. It’s a bit hard to figure out how many books I’ve published over my twenty-two year career, at least partly because many have seen multiple editions. But I’d say it’s close to one hundred if not more.

this book is part of a series?

No

you lost sleep while writing this book?

No – though I dreamed about it.

you did research for this book?

Yes, of course. It’s historical, set in eighteenth century England, a few years before the American revolution. So I had to do research on language, clothing and culture, but even more about geography, since I’m a Yank with limited experience in Britain. Probably the most intensive research efforts involved studying what the port of Bristol was like during that period. I was fortunate to find a painting of one of the quays, which I used as a basis for my description.

some characters in this book are not human? (pets for example)

No. There’s a horse named Delilah, but I wouldn’t call her a character.

this book has more than one genre?

Yes. Well, I’ve never been sure exactly how to determine the boundaries of a genre. However, this book is a lesbian romance, historical, erotic, with a poetic edge and a bit of adventure.

you speak more than one language?

Yes. Two fluently, several more as a novice.

you grew up where you live now?

No. I live in Southeast Asia now. I grew up in New England.

you love to read?

Yes. That’s an understatement. Even now, when I’m ferociously busy with my day job, I’m usually in the middle of several books. When I was a kid, my mom had to force me to stop reading and go out to get some fresh air.

you are never late?

Hmm. Rarely, but not never. Certainly I dislike being late, and try to plan my arrivals accordingly.

you love pizza?

No. I like pizza, but wouldn’t say I love it.

you love sushi?

Yes. I don’t eat it often because I’m worried about freshness and quality, but I recently spent two weeks in Japan and ate sushi and sashimi every chance I could.

you have a pet?

Yes, two cats at the moment. I can’t imagine living without felines.

Lisabet Sarai became addicted to words at an early age. She began reading when she was four. She wrote her first story at five years old and her first poem at seven. Since then, she has written plays, tutorials, scholarly articles, marketing brochures, software specifications, self-help books, press releases, a five-hundred page dissertation, and lots of erotica and erotic romance – over one hundred titles, and counting, in nearly every sub-genre—paranormal, scifi, ménage, BDSM, LGBTQ, and more. Regardless of the genre, every one of her stories illustrates her motto: Imagination is the ultimate aphrodisiac.
