Tell us about yourself as a person.

What is your personality type?

I’m definitely a Type A personality, mostly when it comes to my work and writing. I’m a perfectionist. Even before I sent Note by Note to my editor, I was fretting over the first chapter. There comes a time when you have to let it go. But with others, , my friends and family, I’m more of a Type B, very patient.

What is your favorite subject to talk about?

Besides books and writing, music is probably number one. I’ve been a piano and guitar teacher for 37 years. And I have favorite artists that I listen to – Donny Osmond, Rick Springfield, Barry Manilow, Air Supply, and basically any music from the 80s.

What is your favorite book?

There are so many. It’s probably easier to tell you my favorite authors, Alyssa Day and Sandra Brown. I read Sandra’s books when she was writing for Harlequin. I loved her style. Still do. And she inspires me with her blend of romance and suspense.

Tell us about yourself as a writer.

When you go to a convention, what kinds of things do you take along?

I haven’t done any conventions yet. But I am trying to get out there in my local area to meet as many people as I can – I go to craft shows and coming up, there’s a street festival which will be featuring local authors so that’s exciting. I take my books, bookmarks, business cards, brochures with the blurb and QR code for Note by Note and Memory by Memory. A few decorations like candles, ribbon, music confetti, anything to make the display fun.

What’s your best advice for a new writer?

I am a new writer. I just started on Amazon’s Kindle Vella serial site in July 2021 and released Note by Note as an ebook, paperback, and hardcover in the summer of 2022. I think the best advice is to keep writing, get the words on the page. Find a good editor. And don’t put your dreams on hold. I’m getting started pretty late at age 58, but better late than never.

What are your writing goals for the next year or so?

I started another book in the series following Note by Note called Memory by Memory. It’s currently being serialized on Amazon’s Kindle Vella serial site as I write it. I would like to finish it and have it published within the next year and continue on with a group of books with the same group of family/friends, giving them each their own story. I also have a direct sequel to Note by Note featuring Finn and Jess. I couldn’t seem to let them go at the end so I want to continue their story.
