Stockholm Diaries 2: Caroline a new #contemporaryromance by Rebecca Hunter #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.
Rebecca Hunter is a writer, editor and translator who has always loved to read and travel. Though she earned a Bachelor’s in English and a Master’s in English Education, most of what she learned about writing romance has come from other sources.
Rebecca has, over the years, called many places home, including Michigan, where she grew up, New York City, San Francisco, and, of course, Stockholm, Sweden. After their most recent move from Sweden back to the San Francisco Bay Area, she and her husband assured each other they’ll never move again. Well, probably not.

    Interview with Rebecca Hunter

Why did you write this book?
When I wrote Caroline and Niklas’s first story, I didn’t plan on writing a second episode. But after getting the question, “What happens next?” from a reader, I thought it might be fun to explore what happens after their first happy ending.
The chemistry between Niklas and Caroline is clear from the beginning, but practically speaking, they have little in common, and their lives are pulling them in different directions. Stockholm Diaries, Caroline 2 is Caroline’s struggle to answer why they belong together.
But in writing this book, I thought a lot about the question in general: Why do two people belong together for the long haul? For me, a good relationship means both people actively help each other become their better selves—though sometimes the act of helping isn’t even conscious. But sexual chemistry and intimacy are also musts, both in books and in real life!
P.S. Fun fact: The setting for the first surfing scene in Stockholm Diaries, Caroline 2 is from my husband and my surfing honeymoon on Kauai… though the steamy details are fictional, of course! We have our own, private Stockholm Diaries romance insteadJ.
What is your favorite genre to read?
For many, many years, I only read literary fiction—I was an English major! However, I went through plenty of periods where I felt too busy/too unfocused to invest myself in this kind of book, so I simply wouldn’t read at all. I picked up mysteries from time to time, but each time I’d think, “I don’t like reading about murder, victims and fear.”
When I finally discovered the romance genre, my understanding of reading shifted. I didn’t have to invest as much time and thought into starting these books; the books pulled me in! Now, my favorite genre is steamy contemporary romance, but I read historical, paranormal, YA, NA… just about everything!
I’m drawn to romance because I honestly believe that love trumps everything, both in romance stories and in life—this sounds little silly on paper, but I really believe it. Romance for me is about two imperfect people struggling to find each other as well as their better selves. These stories bring happiness and hope, which I can’t get enough of as a reader. I hope that readers to find those things in my books, too!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
    Ohhh… Derek Craven!
I think he makes the top of many readers’ lists, but for those not familiar with him, he’s the hero of Lisa Kleypas’s historical Dreaming of You. He’s the definition of rough-around-the-edges, so watching him struggle as heroine Sara breaks through his defenses creates a lot of tension. Something that really works in this book is the fact that the characters get together in the middle of the book, so we spend more time on the depth and intimacy of their relationship compared to many historicals.
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
Last summer, I started a series called Stockholm Diaries, Alice. The idea is four short episodes, set in three different cities, as this couple finds their way from a one-night stand to something more. I wrote the first story and then got caught up in other project… until I started getting comments from readers—“I can’t find the rest of these stories.” Oh no! Time to start writing them! Right now, I’m in the middle of their third episode.
I’m also in the very beginning stages of co-authoring a short non-fiction idea on romance in Stockholm with Kim Golden, to be announced soon!
When I’m done with these two projects, I’ll write Stockholm Diaries, Veronica, the story of Caroline’s best friend.
Please tell us about your latest book.

    Merry Christmas Baby #RLFblog #ContemporaryRomance by @liviaquinn

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.
    About the Author
DC native, Livia Quinn, now lives and writes by the bayou in Louisiana. She’s written ten books in her Storm Lake series, both paranormal and contemporary romance. While working as a plant manager, computer trainer, mail lady, professional singer, and small business owner she stocked her brain full of great characters and fodder for her stories. She can’t wait to share them with her readers. Livia loves all these Scottish and though she’s never met a Tempestaerie, an Aussie gem hunter or a Scottish dragon, she did meet some hunky cover models recently.
    Interview with Livia Quinn
Why did you write this book?
Merry Christmas, Baby is more than a holiday book. I wanted to bring together the characters from the Storm Lake East books to update readers on what’s been happening with the characters from Hard Days Knight, Her First Knight and Thunder Point. You’ll also meet some of the characters that will be getting their own books soon. I’ve already gotten letters begging me to do Beau and Madison’s story next but first we must find out what happens with Jed and Sam. Samantha has a secret from her last tour in the Navy and it will rock the family.
What is your favorite genre to read?
    Lately, historical fantasy, lol.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Matthew from the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness
What are you working on at the moment, and what will we see from you in coming months?
I’m working on the fifth book in the Destiny Paramortals, Take these Broken Wings, which is due out and available now for preorder. Then I’ll be jumping back over to Jed and Sam’s story, former title, Knight in Tarnished Armor. And the boxed set of the Larue books is also available for pre-order at a lower price for a few more days.

It’s a weekend full of love. Larue social media is all atwitter at the return of hometown movie idol, Ducane Beauregard Larue at the only place to celebrate Christmas Eve—the Romanos’. Catch up with the characters from Larue and Thunder Point and get a peek into the lives of upcoming characters.
Beau hates Christmas. It reminds him of what he can’t have. He’s been avoiding homecomings, and the biggest reason is unavoidable this Christmas – Madison Hart, who has loved Beau for most of her adult life. Whenever rumors surface about him returning home, Madison hyperventilates at the prospect of seeing him again.
Samantha Larue’s baby is overdue and everyone is hovering including Jed, who ended their relationship last summer because kids “weren’t in his future”.
Bad guys don’t scare Delilah Burke but Luc’s mother and five sisters do. They have her stalling on setting a date to marry the man she loves.
Nothing could make Buffy Romano happier than delivering some surprises and helping the people she loves find love. Then, a Christmas Eve miracle confirms what she already knows – that with a little nudge, all her love ones’ happily-ever-afters will happen in the not so distant future.

  • Paranormal

    Snowbound With Ghost a new #paranormalromance by @_Ani_Gonzalez #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

I write sexy paranormal small town romance (whew, that’s a mouthful!) set in Banshee Creek, Virginia, the Most Haunted Town in the USA. The books feature feisty, irrepressible heroines conquering strong, controlling alpha males with a bit (okay, sometimes it’s a lot!) of supernatural help.
I love to interact with readers so check out my website for my social media links.

    Interview with Ani Gonzalez

Why did you write this book? Zach and Patricia where the supporting characters in Ghost of a Chance. He’s a bad boy pizzeria owner and she’s a straight-laced baker and they had a lot of chemistry. I knew they would get together at some point. In My Ghostly Valentine they both want the town’s most haunted building, the Rosemoor, and they’ll do anything to get it. They’re hilarious together and things get pretty crazy as the competition heats up. It’s a really fun book.
What is your favorite genre to read? I read paranormal and contemporary romance and I love humor and fantasy. I mix all of these elements in my books.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)? Eve Dallas from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. I think she’s one of the best fictional characters out there and I really hope they bring her to life in a movie or a TV series (along with Roarke who is equally awesome). I also love the characters in Kristen Painter’s Nocturne Falls series. Those books would also make a great TV series!
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months? I just finished the first draft of Fortune Favors the Witch, the second book in my new Main Street Witches series. It’s set in the same world as the Banshee Creek series but features more magic and mayhem (and an adorable fortune-telling heroine). This book should be out sometime in the summer.
Please tell us about your latest book.
Baker Patricia O’Dare wants to buy the famous, but sadly derelict, Rosemoor Bed & Breakfast, and turn it into a luxurious teashop. Only two things stand in her way, bad boy restaurateur Zach Franco, who wants to acquire the building so he can expand his pizza empire, and the B&B’s resident ghost. All’s fair in love and war, specially where the incorrigible Zach is concerned, but as the fight over the Rosemoor heats up, Patricia fears that she may be winning the battle, but losing her chance at love.

    Promising a new #NewAdultromance by @RebelMillerBoox #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

Rebel Miller is an author who overindulges in Pinot Grigio, caramel popcorn and an eclectic mix of movies, music and angst-filled romance novels.
Rebel earned a graduate degree in Communications and Culture from Ryerson University and an undergraduate degree from the University of the West Indies.
Rebel lives in the outskirts of Toronto, Canada with her husband and two sons.

    Interview with Rebel Miller

Why did you write this book?
This question always stumps me! I think the reason is because the story had been percolating in my mind over a number of months, demanding that I write it.
I envisioned developing a New Adult romance that was set against an intensely dramatic backdrop and was unexpected in every way, yet would still resonate with readers of the genre – whether lovers of contemporary or futuristic settings. For me, that meant creating a world set hundreds of years in the future where I could challenge the female lead, Kira Metallurgist, in her assumptions about her social class, identity, sexuality and what it means to be in love. As Kira starts out on her career path and finds herself in a tangled love triangle, I include a lot of thematic notes that readers will be able to identify with while enjoying her out of this world journey.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Hmmm. Well … let me think. LOL. Anything romance, of course! I also love thrillers/suspense. Having now started on my third book and plotting for future novels, I can see where my reading preferences are coming through my work!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
There are so many! All right, if I must choose, the character that first comes to mind is David Strorm from The Chrysalids by John Wyndham. I love this book so much that I referenced it in my first novel, Awakening. While it isn’t a romance, the story has stayed with me since I first read it for English Literature class in high school. In fact, I have a copy on my bedside table right now!
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m well into writing the final book in The Realm Series, which will be the final instalment in Kira’s story. In this novel, I place Kira in even more challenging and emotional situations. She’ll be confronting a lot of her secrets and fears and, of course, make a decision on who to be with – whether Gannon or Tai … or, hey, maybe she’ll end up with both! I’m excited to see how it all works out!
After that, I head right into writing my first stand-alone novel. It will be a contemporary romance (suspense). Following this story, I’ll head back into The Realm Series, but writing the story for Liandra Ambassador who we first meet in Awakening. Stay tuned for details!
Please tell us about your latest book.
Promising, the riveting follow-up to Awakening by Rebel Miller.
Faced with diverging loyalties — between those she loves and her responsibility to the Realm — Kira has to make heartrending and strategic decisions that threaten to jeopardize her future.
As her connection to Tai deepens and turmoil in the Realm builds, so does Gannon’s frustration at being unable to call Kira his own.
Worlds at War … A Heart in Conflict
While the Realm stands defiant amidst rising unrest, Kira is thrust into a role that puts her at the forefront of her system’s governance and law, supporting a landmark position. Following a devastating turn of events, she turns to Tai for a shoulder to lean on after making a painful choice to ensure Gannon fulfils the role he was meant for.
As she becomes a reluctant – yet inspiring – voice for her caste, Kira learns about one of the Realm’s most well-kept secrets and how far leadership will go to prevent it from being revealed. What she doesn’t know is how much the decisions of her past have the power to bring enemies into her path, threatening to destroy everyone she holds close to her heart.

  • Suspense

    Illusions of Death #romsuspense @LaurenLinwood #RLFblog #TuesdayBookBlog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

Lauren Linwood’s historical romances use history as a backdrop to place her characters in extraordinary circumstances, where their intense desire for one another grows into the treasured gift of love. Her romantic suspense novels feature strong heroes and heroines who unite to defeat a clever antagonist and discover a deep, abiding love during their journey.
A native Texan, Lauren is an avid reader, moviegoer, and sports fan who manages stress by alternating yoga with long walks. She plans to start a support group for Fixer Upper addicts—as soon as she finishes her next piece of dark chocolate.

    Interview with Lauren Linwood

Why did you write this book?
Although I enjoy reading romantic suspense, I usually write historical romance (medieval and the American Old West eras). Every now and then, another type of story calls out to me. That was the case with Illusions of Death, my second romantic suspense novel. I envisioned a serial killer who would be impossible to catch because he had no set murder pattern. He kills victims from every gender, race, and socio-economic background—and equal opportunity killer!
What is your favorite genre to read?
I enjoy thrillers that have some type of historical connection. Steve Berry and Brad Meltzer do a fabulous job of weaving history into action-packed stories that keep a reader guessing till the very end.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice gets my vote. Lizzy is intelligent, compassionate, loyal, witty, charming, and feisty—everything I love in a heroine.
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m excited to share that I’m launching my first series after nine standalone novels. The Knights of Valor series will debut with Word of Honor in April, followed by Marked by Honor in July and Code of Honor in October. Three more books from this medieval historical romance series will be released in 2017.
Please tell us about your latest book.
Best-selling author Karlyn Campbell is ready for a new start after her recent divorce from a temperamental artist. When she receives word that her father had a stroke, she heads for Walton Springs with mixed feelings. Broderick Campbell wrote Pulitzer Prize-winning literary novels and denounced his daughter’s work as pedestrian and commercial, causing a rift that finally heals on his deathbed. Karlyn chooses to stay in the small Georgia town to write her popular Matt Collins series and decides to try her hand at true crime when Atlanta’s Rainbow Killer, Roy G. Biv, captures her interest.
Detective Logan Warner’s marriage didn’t survive after he lost his twins to a crazed killer who was never caught. He returns to his hometown’s police force and runs for police chief, happy he’s escaped big city crime and corruption. Emotionally dead, his interest in life is renewed when he falls in love with Karlyn and begins to build a new life with her.
But the Rainbow Killer moves beyond Atlanta, leaving a trail of dead bodies painted in bright hues in several towns north of the city. Leaving no trace evidence or DNA and choosing random victims with no apparent rhyme or reason, Roy proves unstoppable. Then he arrives in Walton Springs, threatening the peaceful town with his murder spree. With a serial killer in their back yard, Logan and Karlyn unite with the FBI to find the killer—before he finds them.
