    A Highland Ruby #historicalromance @rayburnlady #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

The desire to write historical fiction has long been a
passion with Brenda B. Taylor. Since elementary school, she has written stories
in her spare time. Brenda earned three degrees: a BSE from Henderson State
University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas; a MEd from Sam Houston State University,
Huntsville, Texas; and an EdD from Texas A&M University, College Station,
Texas; then worked as a teacher and administrator in the Texas Public School
system. Only after retirement could she fulfill the dream of publication.
Brenda and her husband make their home in beautiful East
Texas where they enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and
working in Bethabara Faith Ministry, Inc. She crafts stories about the
extraordinary lives of ordinary people in her favorite place overlooking bird
feeders, bird houses, and a variety of blooming trees and flowers. She
sincerely thanks all who purchase and read her books. Her desire is that the
message in each book will touch the heart of the reader as it did hers in the
    writing.

    Interview with Brenda B. Taylor

    Why did you write
    this book?
Since elementary school I’ve had a desire to write stories,
but a family and career took precedent over my ambitions to be a writer. After
retirement, I became interested in genealogy and followed my family line to
Scotland. Stories about the ancient Scots stirred my interest. A Highland Ruby
is a result of research into my Scots heritage and Scotland’s history.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
My favorite genres to read are historical romance and
historical fiction. History is one of my teaching fields, and I enjoy reading
    stories set in the past.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
My favorite character from fiction is Elizabeth Bennet from
    Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I am working on a novella prequel to A Highland Pearl, the
first book in the Highland Treasures series. The novella tells the story of the
love between Andrew’s and Gavin’s parents, Aine and William Munro.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
    She
must choose between a life of adventure with the man she loves or a settled,
secure life with her betrothed. Flora Vass put Gavin Munro out of her heart and
mind until he returned to Scotland after an adventurous five years in the New
World. Gavin left no doubt he returned to make the bonnie Flora his own and
intended to fight for her. Flora’s betrothed, Iain MacKay, and Gavin’s brother,
Chief Andrew Munro, had other plans. Andrew needed her to marry the MacKay to
bring peace between the two clans. Iain MacKay wanted an heir. War with England
looms on the horizon, forcing Flora to choose between her heart’s desire and
    her logical choice.

Meet Picayune from Beloved Unmasked #gayromance @britaaddams #RLFblog

Meet Picayune from Beloved Unmasked by Brita Addams.

    Author Bio

Born in a small town in upstate New York, Brita Addams has made her home in the sultry south for many years. In the Frog Capital of the World, Brita shares her home with her real-life hero—her husband, and a fat cat named Stormee. All their children are grown.
Given her love of history, Brita writes both het and gay historical romance. Many of her historicals have appeared on category bestseller lists at various online retailers.
Tarnished Gold, the first in her gay romance Tarnished series for Dreamspinner Press, was a winner in the 2013 Rainbow Awards, Historical Romance category. The book also received nominations for Best Historical and Best Book of 2013 from the readers of the Goodreads M/M Romance Group.
A bit of trivia—Brita pronounces her name, Bree-ta, and not Brit-a, like the famous water filter. Brita Addams is a mash-up of her real middle name and her husband’s middle name, with an additional d and s.

    Introducing Picayune/David Reid

Welcome to Romance Lives Forever! We’re happy to have you here today.
    Name: Picayune, later David Reid
Age: at the time of this interview, I’m 24.
    Gender: male
    Birthplace: Storyville, New Orleans
    Profession: Survivor.
Describe your body and build, skin tone, height and weight. Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars.
I’m tall, tanned, and slim, with a full head of dark hair that needs pomade.
Who is the significant other in your life?
You’ll have to read Beloved Unmasked to find out. I’m not being coy, here, but it’s best you read about it.
Please tell us a little about yourself.
As a boy, I spent as much time as I could out my mother’s way. She hated me. She named me Picayune, for crying out loud. What kind of mother does that? Said I didn’t deserve a last name. With a great deal of help, I’ve overcome a lot, but something tells me I’ll never stray too far from Picayune. To forget him would do him, and me, a great injustice. I plan a better future, but I’ll always wonder if I deserve it.
    How do you dress?
As a kid, I worked for the ragman, as well as Mr. Anderson, the mayor of Storyville. More often than not, I wore baggy overalls, with one broken buckle, but, what’s that, right? My yellowed shirt itched and was at least two sizes too big. My shoes were something. Nester, the man who took care of all us kids at the Gem, he tied my soles on with rope.
Nowadays, I like my suits and two-tone Oxfords. Emile says I spend too much on clothes, but I tell him that is born of deprivation.
I’m told I’ve got a Cajun accent. I used to talk like everyone else in Storyville—dese, dem, doze, but people don’t take you seriously when you sound uneducated. I’ve spent many hours trying to speak like the people I went to school with. Now I sound like them, except when I get excited, and I still have an accent.
    Are you book-smart, self-taught, widely-experienced?
All of the above. I read a lot and I was a good student. I raised myself on streets where you learn quickly, mostly things you shouldn’t learn. Nester and Miss Effie, they kept me straight. I never got into trouble, though Sapphire, my mother, saw fit to discipline me, mostly for no good reason other than she was angry at something.
On what special skills do you rely?
I draw and play the piano. I have a fair-to-middling singing voice, too. When I draw or play, nothing else matters.
Are any of your skills a source of pride or embarrassment, and if so, which ones and why?
Miss Effie always said we shouldn’t be prideful, but I’m a fast learner. King Oliver himself taught me to play piano and he didn’t mess around. He’d play a few notes, then tell me to play them. I’m proud I learned all I know about music from the king himself, and from hanging out at the Funky Butt Dance Hall. They had a kid over there, Louis Armstrong. Man, could that boy play that cornet of his.
Do you care about what others assume about you?
Don’t we all care about what others think of us? I have more secrets than most people I know, but to defend myself, I’d have to reveal them. Spence calls that a double-edged sword.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you most want it to be, and why?
All my life, I’ve thought about who my father might be, but there’s no way of tellin’. The why in that question is obvious. I’ve read stories about families, but they don’t have anything to do with me.
Can you keep a secret? Why or why not?
Sure, because I have so many of my own.
    What is your biggest need?
I want someone to love and who’ll love me. *Bows head*
    How do you handle challenges?
Straight on. That’s how Nester taught me.
    What is your breaking point?
In the book, Beloved Unmasked, Ms. Addams wrote about it. A man has to make a decision and stick to it. That’s what I did. Let’s just say it has something to do with a broken broomstick.
How emotionally expressive are you to others?
I have my moments. I’ve spent a long time finding my heart.
Who in your life has the power to hurt you the most and why?
The person who loves me. He has my life in his hands.
What would you like to tell your writer?
Thank you, Ms. Addams, for being patient with me. Some of the stuff you pulled out of me wasn’t easy—for either of us.
What would you like people who hear your story to know?
We are all responsible for our happiness, and we have to be a person someone wants to care for.

    Schemes Gone Amiss a new #Regency by @Collette_Author #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

Bestselling, award-winning Historical Romance Author, Collette Cameron, pens Scottish and Regency Romances featuring rogues, rapscallions, rakes, and the intrepid damsels who reform them. Mother to three and self-proclaimed Cadbury chocoholic, she’s crazy about dachshunds, cobalt blue, and makes her home in Oregon with her husband and five mini-dachshunds. You’ll always find animals, quirky—sometimes naughty—humor, and a dash of inspiration in her novels. Her motto for life? You can’t have too much chocolate, too many hugs, too many flowers, or too many books. She’s thinking about adding shoes to that list.

    Interview with Collette Cameron

Why did you write this book?
Schemes Gone Amiss is the second book in my Conundrums of the Misses Culpepper series.
Readers met Blythe Culpepper in the first book, Wagers Gone Awry, when she and Lord Leventhorpe butted heads from the moment the met.
I couldn’t wait to tell their story.
What is your favorite genre to read?
I love historical romances, especially anything medieval, Scottish, Victorian or Regency.  I got hooked at an early age, and though I read other genres on occasion, historicals remain my favorite.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
I’m rather partial to both Jamie Fraser and  Ross Poldark. See, more historicals!
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m working on Scandal’s Splendor, the 4th book in my Highland Heather Romancing a Scot Series. I hope to complete the 6 book series this year as well as write the 3rd book in the Conundrums of the Misses Culpepper series and another Waltz with a Rogue novella.
I’m going to be very busy!
Please tell us about your latest book.
Intrepid and outspoken, Blythe Culpepper is dragged against her will to London for a Season. To her dismay, her guardian enlists the devilishly attractive Lord Leventhorpe, the one man she detests, to assist with her Come Out. Since their first encounter, hostile looks and cutting retorts have abounded whenever they meet, yet she cannot deny the way her body reacts when he’s near. So perhaps it’s no surprise that upon overhearing another woman scheming to entrap Tristan into marriage, Blythe risks all to warn him.
Haunted by childhood trauma, Tristan, the austere and controlled Marquis of Leventhorpe, usually avoids social gatherings. So why, against his better judgement, does he agree to aid his closet friend in presenting the Culpeppers to the ton? Might it be because one Culpepper stirs more than his interest? Blythe taxes him to his limits with her sharp wit and even sharper tongue. Yet, he cannot deny the beauty fascinates him. However, when an old enemy comes calling, using Blythe to settle old scores, Tristan must decide if protecting his honor is more important than winning the heart of the woman he has come to love.

    Acting The Part a new #contemporaryromance by @justineromance #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces
    the story.
    About the Author
I live in Canberra, Australia and I’ve spent my professional life
writing legal advice – which some may say is similar to creative writing – but
the lack of sexy heroes and happy endings have led me writing romance. I have
placed in the finals of Romance Writers of Australia writing contests, winning
the Emerald Short Award in 2014.
I love Earl Grey tea, talking about which of Jane Austen’s novels is
my favourite, and searching for the perfect frock. I will read anything, but
    love romance most of all.
    Interview with Justine Lewis
    Why did you write this
    book?
    I write
escapist romance and, without consciously meaning to, my books often feature
celebrities. The idea for Acting the Part came when I wondered about the
children of celebrities and what it must be like to have super famous parents.
That’s where Persephone Greenwood aka Poppy came from. Her mother is a
beautiful actress with depression and substance abuse problems, but Poppy loves
her unconditionally and will do anything to help her overcome her addiction.
Even if that means entering her father’s show business world, the world of
movie making, actors and celebrities. A world she blames for her mother’s
problems. A world she has avoided all of her life.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
It is difficult to pick just one, but if I had to I’d say contemporary
    romance.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
This one is easy though: Elizabeth Bennett. She’s feisty and strong
yet her vulnerability is universal. I love that she speaks her mind and still
    gets the man.
What are you working on at
the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
My next book is due out in the first half of 2016 and is a
contemporary romance about a TV anchor woman who fears she’s reaching her
use-by date and finds herself both threatened and attracted to a new gun
foreign correspondent who becomes her offsider.
    Please tell us about your
    latest book.
Poppy Greenwood needs money fast. Her estranged
father, one of the most powerful men in Hollywood, has promised to help – on
the condition that she work on the set of his next movie. Although Poppy
despises the world of show business, she has little choice but to agree.
Hot-shot director Max Madden has an Oscar in his
sights. He needs this film to be a success but an overblown budget and a
difficult cast are ruining his plans. Not only that, but the Executive
Producer’s daughter has arrived to spy on him. To keep a close eye on Poppy, he
insists she work directly for him.
But as they work together on location in southern
France, the temperature begins to rise. Max knows the boss’s daughter is
definitely off limits – and Poppy does not want a relationship with anyone in
the industry. Yet against their better judgment, an intense chemistry begins to
    build.

    Capturing Christmas a new #romance by @ShannaHatfield #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

    Convinced everyone deserves a happy
ending, hopeless romantic Shanna Hatfield is out to make it happen, one story
at a time. Her sweet historical and contemporary romances combine humor and
heart-pumping moments with characters that seem incredibly real.
When she isn’t writing or indulging
in chocolate (dark and decadent, please), Shanna hangs out with her husband,
    lovingly known as Captain Cavedweller.
This USA Today bestselling author is a member of Western Writers of
America, Women Writing the West, Romance Writers of America,  Sweet
    Romance Reads, and Pioneer Hearts.

    Interview with Shanna Hatfield

    Why did you write
    this book?
It’s the third book in my Rodeo Romance series. I’ve had a
blast with this series and wanted to see if continue.  The heroes are tough, hunky cowboys and the
    women are strong and determined.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
    Historical romance.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
That is a tough question. I can’t pick just one, but one I’m
especially fond of is Essie Sprecklemeyer from Deeanne Gist’s  Courting Trouble. She’s such a plucky
character who marches to her own tune.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I have two books releasing November 12 – Capturing Christmas
and The Christmas Vow. The sixth book in the Grass Valley Cowboys series will
be out soon. Look for The Cowboy’s Last Goodbye after Christmas.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
Life is hectic on a good day for
rodeo stock contractor Kash Kressley. Between dodging flying hooves and babying
cranky bulls, he barely has time to sleep. The last thing Kash needs is the
entanglement of a sweet romance, especially with a woman as full of fire and
sass as the redheaded photographer he rescues at a rodeo.
    Determined to capture the best
images possible, rodeo photographer Celia McGraw is fearless and feisty. Not
one to back down from a challenge, her biggest risk isn’t in her work. Danger
lurks in the way her heart responds to one incredibly handsome stock contractor.
Will Kash and Celia capture the
    spirit of the season?

    Into the Flames
This quick interview includes info about the author, and introduces the story.

    About the Author

N.J. Walters is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author who has always been a voracious reader, and now she spends her days writing novels of her own. Vampires, werewolves, dragons, time-travelers, seductive handymen, and next-door neighbors with smoldering good looks—all vie for her attention. It’s a tough life, but someone’s got to live it.

    Interview with N.J. Walters

Why did you write this book?

I wrote my novella Rescue Me as part of the Into the Flames boxed set. Firefighters are dust and ash-covered heroes who defy the odds and press on in the presence of danger.Firefighter Frank Ellis is a man with a huge secret, and he’s spent his whole adult life trying to atone for past mistakes. Like any man, Frank has secret fantasies. He doesn’t want money or power or lots of women. His fantasy is much simpler, but one he’d thinks he’ll never have—a regular life with one particular woman. He’s given up hope of that ever happening when she comes back into his life, bringing with her hope and new life to his fantasies.

What is your favorite genre to read?
Romance, of course. I love all genres of romance, but my favorites are probably paranormal, contemporary and romantic suspense. I do love a good historical too.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
This is such a tough question. I have so many fictional characters I love. One of my favorites has to be Eve Dallas, from J.D. Robb’s In Death series. She is one kickass heroine, but she does have a softer side, no matter how much she tries to hide it.
What are you working on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
I’m currently working on a new book for my Salvation Pack werewolf series. I’d originally planned on it being a five-book series, but I’m currently working on book nine. I have four Salvation Pack books due out in the next year. It’s exciting.
Please tell us about your latest book.
