    #Cancer Awareness: It Affects All @AuthorTinaGayle CEO’s Widow #RLFblog

    CEO’s Widow

From Kayelle Allen: This week on Romance Lives Forever I’m sharing stories by
authors who have faced cancer either in themselves, or a family member. The
importance of friends and family, and having a support system is vital. One key
to success is being able to ask for help — and then being willing to accept
it. It’s a lesson I’ve had in my own life during various times. I don’t accept
help well. It’s something I fight with all the time. I’d like to think “I’ve
got this” but sometimes I don’t have as good a grip as I thought I did.
I have a friend who’s dealing with cancer right now. A friend’s brother died
from cancer last year. Cancer affects all of us. I hope I’m even half as good a
friend as those you’ll read about in this series.

I’m presenting these posts as an opportunity for the authors
to share their real life stories, as well as their fictional ones. There’s a
short list of ways you can show your support at the end of each post.

Breast Cancer: How It Affects Us All by Tina Gayle

Even if you have never had the disease,
you probably know someone who has had it or who has lost a loved one to it. My aunt
had it and died back in the early seventies. I remember because my father would
not say anything other than she died of cancer. The sad thing was he didn’t even
learn she was sick until he heard of her death.
Back then if you had cancer of any
kind, people avoided you as if you had some type of plague for fear of catching
    it.
Through the years, I’ve had other
family members who’ve faced breast cancer and have survived. My mother was told
that they found a lump and underwent surgery. Lucky for all of us, it was not cancer.
By sharing my own history, I hope
you can see that no matter whether we personally have the disease or not, it affects
our lives and the people we care for. Each person goes through a lot of emotion
when fighting cancer. That’s why I decided to use the pain of dealing with the disease
in the last book in my Executive Wives’ Club series, CEO’s Widow.
Marianne Clark is the matriarch of
group. She has watched as each woman recovers from the loss of her husband in the
fatal crash that killed all of their husbands. She’s supported them and considers
each of them a member of her family.

    About the Author

    Interview with Tina Gayle

    Why did you write
    this book?
This is the last book in the Executive Wives’ Club series. I
started this series to show how important women are to women. Marianne has been
the glue that has keep these women together. She believes that her family and
friends are enough until she is told she might have breast cancer. Then she is
forced to realize that she may not have much of a life left.
Already in love with Knox, she decides she needs to grab
life by the balls and squeak out every ounce of pleasure she can. Now all she
has to do is face the future with strength and determination.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
Romance. I fell in love with romantic stories at a young age
and can’t get enough. Doesn’t matter what subgenre, I need a romance to make a
story worth reading. The main reason, I believe is because I love the emotion
of loving someone. It is never easy.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
I believe it is Romeo and Juliet. It goes to show how far we
will go to be with the one we love.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
Now, that I’ve finished the Executive Wives’ Club series. I
want to get back to my Family Tree series. The next book is Winter Wonders. It
is not an easy story because of the pain the main character is going through.
Learning to realize we can change certain events in our life is a difficult
pill to swallow especially if you are a psychic.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
After surviving the grief from her husband’s death, Marianne
Clark has built a new life with the help of the other Executive Wives. She
plans to enjoy grandchildren and friends until her doctor tells her he found a
lump in her breast. Her world turned upside down. She re-evaluates her
priorities and decides she grab hold of life with both hands.
Knox Turner lost is first wife to cancer. He’s determined
not to let Marianne face this challenge alone.
Can this couple face the trails ahead and build a future
    together?

I love a great pizza and drag it through the garden please!

There are so many… But my fave would have to be Tack from

For me the perfect vacation would be a sandy beach, an
umbrella for shade, a cold drink, and my kindle full of books. Heaven.

what kind of books do you choose?
I read almost anything but my faves are romance (any kind)

    Peyton Lang from FL.E.S.H. by @daryldevore #RLFblog #eroticbillionaire

Daryl Devore shares details about the creation of Peyton Lang in the book FL.E.S.H.

    About the Book

Title FL.E.S.H. (Flames Electrifying Sexy Heat)
    Genre Erotic Contemporary Billionaire
    Author Daryl Devore
    Book heat level R
When secrets conflict with dreams, love explodes.
After a mistake by a surgeon’s scalpel shattered Fuchsia
Quinn’s dance career, she picked up the pieces of her life and moved forward.
As the owner of a small, struggling dance school in a depressed neighborhood
she supplements her income with a late night job at a dive bar. Haunted by the
fear of humiliation, if her secret is revealed, her life was under control
until the night he walked into the bar.
Peyton Lang, having run from a bad neighborhood, lives the
lifestyle of a successful billionaire. Frustrated that his current
multi-million dollar project is stalled, Peyton drops in to LEATHER-ICIOUS for
a simple drink and late night entertainment. What he saw was a beautiful
redhead. What he found was he wanted her.
After a lusty night with a hot pole dancer, Peyton and
Fuchsia’s worlds are about to collide.

    Introducing Peyton Lang

    Name: Peyton Francis Lang
    Age: 34
    Gender: Male
    Birthplace: Alaska, USA
    Profession: Billionaire
Describe his/ body build, skin tone, height and weight.
Include any unique features such as dimples, freckles, or scars:  Fair skinned, 6’2”, 180 lbs of toned muscle,
    small scar on chin
    Who is the
significant other in your character’s life?
    Fuchsia Quinn
    Tell us about this
    character, please.
Peyton travelled from Miami to East Millburg (which is based
on Detroit) to negotiate a business deal with a woman who was blocking a
multimillion dollar project. The evening before the meeting he drops into a
dive strip club for a drink and some entertainment. He is captivated by a red
headed pole dancer. By chance he meets her in a diner later that night. They
have a hook up at a local inn. Next day he meets the woman and it turns out to
be the pole dancer. She runs a small ballet school for underprivileged
children. She’d been a professional ballerina, but an accident and then an
    unsuccessful surgery ended her career.
Fuchsia Quinn is struggling with the loss of her dream job
and forced career change and the challenges and frustrations of teaching in a
severely depressed community. She’s furious with Peyton for trying to close her
school just to build a mall. But she’s also in love with the handsome and
    charming man.
    How does your hero
    dress?
Tailor man suits – Hugh Boss, Armani
    Does he scrape by,
    live comfortably, live extravagantly?
With a penthouse condo on the waterfront in Miami and a 3-storey
log cabin to retreat to on weekends in Alaska and a private jet to fly from
coast to coast- I’d say he lives extravagantly.
    What is your
    character’s viewpoint on wealth?
He loves wealth. His father ran out on the family and his
mother struggled to raise two children. His father was killed in a bar brawl
and left him a fortune which he then tripled in dollar worth.
    What is your
    character’s family like?
Peyton’s mother is an alcoholic. The struggles of her
younger life were too much and she took comfort in a bottle. Peyton and his
sister have tried to get her sober, but the lure of the whiskey is too much.
Peyton’s younger sister, Lanna, is a proud woman who loves her older brother
dearly. Peyton assumed the male father figure role after his father
disappeared. When the pressure got too intense he took to drinking and started
to run with a gang, but sobered up when Lanna confronted him.
    Is he close to
    family?
Very. His protective of his little sister and her daughter
and has built a lovely home for his mother in Miami and keeps her well looked
    after.
    Does he have
    children?
Not at the beginning of the book. He has a young niece he
calls Princess whom he adores. He adores her enough to sit through her ballet
    recital.
    How do others
perceive your character based upon looks, and is this assumption accurate?
A successful rich billionaire who has a lucky streak a mile
wide. Not completely true. He got a headstart, but he worked hard to grow that
    beginning into a sizeable fortune.
    Does your character
care about what others assume about him?
No. He is his own man. The world can follow him.
    BONUS:
What do you think your biggest flaw is?
My Temper. It has gotten the better of me on several occasions and gets me into trouble quite a lot.
    When there is a
setback, what doubt or flaw surfaces?
My arrogance. When Fuchsia kept tossing up road blocks
stopping the construction of my latest project, my pride jumped forward
demanding “Who is this woman? And why does she think she can stop me? Me!”
    What can I say – I’m human
    How do you handle
    challenges?
I rub my hands together and settle down to work it out. I
have a basic belief anything can be solve I f you throw enough money at it.

    About Your Writer

    Why do you think your
writer chose to write about you?
Because I was pounding on the inside of her head demanding
    that my story be written.
    What do you wish your
writer had not told others about you?
The scene where I was an absolute bastard to Fuchsia. It
showed my angry, petty side and I’d rather the world just thought of me as a
    handsome, charming demigod.
    What other character
from your book do you think your writer should write a book about, and why?
My sister Lanna. She had an interesting life being my little
sister, but if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be the man I am today. She made me
sober up and grow up. I owe her a lot.
    Why do you think your
    writer loves to write?
I don’t know that she loves to write. While I was bouncing
around in her head there were a lot of other characters in there – several
people, some not human and even a dragon. I think she writes to get us out of
her head so she can sleep at night.
    Is there anything
you’d like to say to your writer?
Thank you for writing Fuchsia into my life. I was just a
workaholic. The desire to make more money was my driving force. Fuchsia opened
    my eyes and my heart.

    I’ve Also Got Your Front, Hailey a new #romance by @junekramin #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

Wife, Mother, Writer, Lunatic. Not necessarily in that
    order.
“There is a fine line between genius and crazy… I
like to use that line as a jump rope!”
June, who prefers to go by Bug, was born in Philadelphia but
moved to Maui, Hawaii when she was four. She met her “Prince Charming” on Kauai
and is currently living “Happily Ever After” in a small town in Minnesota.
Her son and daughter are her greatest accomplishments. She
takes pride in embarrassing them every chance she gets.
Being hopelessly addicted to 80’s music is her super power.

    Interview with June Kramin

    Why did you write
    this book?
I Got Your Back, Hailey came as a sort of surprise. When the
story took off, I honestly wasn’t exactly sure the role Parker was going to
take. I’ll always confess to being a “pantser”. I usually let my characters run
the show; they haven’t let me down yet. This one was definitely more along the
lines of what I love to read – romantic suspense. Even through my edits, I
found myself wondering how they’d get out of their latest mess. When I sent it
out for reviews, I got the most amazing e-mails from fans, begging for more. I
couldn’t disappoint, so I quickly began working away at the sequel. There is
nothing I love more than a good series, and following a favorite author.
I hope to see many more come from this bunch of misfits!
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
Besides 3 authors, all I’ll read are my friend’s books so
that kinda makes me all over the board. I’ll give anything a shot, but I love a
good suspense or anything that keeps you wanting to turn the page to see what
    happens next.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
Lucas Davenport from John Sandford’s Prey series. Again, I
love following a character from book to book. I’ve read him for years and will
hate to see it end someday.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
My first release was a time travel romance – Dustin Time.
Fans asked for more so I wrote a sequel. I never thought about writing a third
but after I was released from my contract and rereleased them, the characters decided
they weren’t done with me. I was afraid to say anything in case I didn’t see it
through but I’m more than halfway in and still going strong. I do plan on
another book in the Hailey series as well – or several. We’ll have to see what
they do to me. I still have some early books that I keep saying I’ll go back
and beat into shape, but new stories keep getting in the way. I always have a
ton of pots on the fire.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
I’ve Also Got Your Front, Hailey – Follow up to I’ve Got
Your Back, Hailey. (Parker names these things – don’t blame me ;)
With the McMand job behind them, Donny is taking a much
needed vacation at one of Parker’s safe houses. After encountering a woman in
trouble and trying to help her, he’s injured in the struggle. He’s forced to
call for Parker and the rest of the team’s help.
Although the island is normally a peaceful tourist
destination, they soon discover that it is run by a drug lord. He’ll stop at
nothing, trying to get back what is his – the woman Donny rescued. She fled,
afraid for her life, and Donny is determined to get her off the island safely.
Falling in love with her only complicates matters more.
They desperately need to get to safety, but Parker just as
desperately wants to keep his Mexico retreat in the clear. The sudden
appearance of his sister and an old hacker friend they discover in the mix
quickly turns this into their most dangerous job yet.

The Thin Person Inside a new #contemporary romance by @RochelleWeber #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

Rochelle Weber is a Navy veteran
with a BA in Writing from Columbia College in Chicago. Her novels Rock Bound
and Rock Crazy are available in both e-book and print. Her third book, The Thin
Person Inside, is available at MuseItUp Publishing, Inc. Ms. Weber edits for
Jupiter Gardens Press, The Author’s Secret, and publishes the Marketing for
Romance Writers Newsletter, winner of the 2013 Preditors and Editors Readers’
Poll for Best Writers’ Resource. She also started Roses and Thorns Reviews
    and currently has two partners.
    Ms. Weber battles bi-polar
disorder, quipping, “You haven’t lived until you’ve been the only woman on the
locked ward at the VA.” Her song, “It’s Not My Fault,” won a gold medal in the
National Veterans Creative Arts Competition. She has lost over a hundred pounds
and kept it off for over three years. She lives in Round Lake Beach, Illinois.

    Interview with Rochelle Weber

Why did you write this book?
    The Thin Person Inside: Kristen
Jensen never expected to fall in love when she got help for her morbid
obesity—let alone with a rock star. I started to write a book about a secretary
who meets a rock star. Originally they met at an AA meeting, but I just
couldn’t get the conflict there. First he relapsed. Then she did. Then I
decided a story about a person in recovery relapsing was just too trite. Then I
decided to put it in the future and have them meet in Rockton on the Moon. Maybe
the conflict could be that he lived on Earth. Then they were going to honeymoon
    up there. Nothing worked.
    Then someone said, “You should
write about your weight loss.” Bingo! I changed Kristen from an alcoholic to a
food addict, described my experience in treatment, even copied my homework from
treatment, and the whole thing just flowed. I decided Sean should lose his hand
because I already had a hero with crushed legs in another book. I’m not a heavy
metal fan, so I didn’t know there was a drummer out there who lost an arm and
came back to the band. I met a veteran who lost his hand in a farm accident and
played piano, and that’s where I got the idea Sean could manage keyboards with
    one hand.
What is your favorite genre to read?
Do I have to choose one? I love
    sci-fi, mystery/suspense/thriller, sweet romance, some paranormal—pretty much
everything but erotica and BDSM. I find erotica boring and BDSM just isn’t my
thing. I just don’t get the concept of deriving pleasure from pain. I’m a wimp.
I don’t want to feel pain, and I’m empathetic so I don’t want to read about
    anyone feeling pain.
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?
Again, must I choose only one? I
think I can narrow it down to three.
Professor McGonagle and Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter series, and
Maureen Johnson Smith, mother of Woodrow Wilson Smith, aka Lazarus Long, created
by Robert A. Heinlein. All three are strong, independent women who protect the
people they love and stand up for what they believe in.
What are you working on at the moment, and what will see from you in
    coming months?
    My current WIP is languishing
somewhat, as I’m busy with promoting my new release and various editing
projects. It’s an historical book set during the Vietnam Era called Full Circle
about a girl who dates a bad-boy biker wanna-be.  She thinks he’s dumped her when he stops
showing up, not realizing he’s been arrested and gone into the Marines. She
joins the Navy and becomes a Hospital Corpwave and meets him again when he’s
admitted to her hospital after being injured in Vietnam. I guess I seem to be
forming a pattern of injured heroes. I’m running out of body parts to maim. ;-/
Please tell us about your latest book.
    Kristen Jensen, a Navy veteran,
tips the scale at a crippling three hundred pounds. In desperation she asks her
VA therapist if she can go into addictions treatment with the guys where she
meets Sean. With black hair, blue eyes, and a perfect body she figures the
reason he’s speaking to her is that she’s the only other person in the room.
    The Haystack told their lead
singer, Sean Wesley, to get clean or get out. But none of the big-name clinics
worked. Sean’s a Desert Storm vet, so they send him to a VA in the middle of
