imaginary) always have some sort of role in her stories.
Lena Hart is the author of sensual
romances with alpha heroes and smart, sexy heroines. She published her first
book in 2012 and have been publishing happily ever afters since. A

cat, Duchess. When Lena’s not writing, she’s reading, researching, or
    conferring with her muse.
Wendy Ely is a USA Today
bestselling author who writes some romantic suspense, really hot stories, and
the wonderful happily-ever-after. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her own
real-life hero, three teenagers, and two crazy cats. When she isn’t busy
writing new stories, she enjoys time outdoors by taking trips to the hot desert
    or swimming at the lake.
Cindy Stark lives with her family
and an adorable Border Collie in a small town shadowed by the Rocky Mountains.
She loves to pen emotional romantic suspense, sexy contemporary romance, and
    sizzling paranormal stories.
Once upon a time, Kristina Knight
spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with local
police–no, she wasn’t a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took
her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer’s
capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Kristina writes contemporary romance with
a smattering of sass, sex and (of course) drama.
Born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y.,
Diane Escalera makes her home in coastal North Carolina. The sultry
surroundings are a steady source of inspiration for her hot love stories. Diane
is married, has two children and a super cute dachshund she can’t get enough
    of. She writes contemporary romance.
Emma Leigh Reed has lived in New
Hampshire all her life. She has fond memories of the Maine coastline and
incorporates the ocean into all her books. She lives in a small town with her
three children, although now it is mostly her and her Springer Spaniel to keep
her company as empty-nesting has started. Her life has been touched and changed
by her son’s autism – she views life through a very different lens than before
he was born. Growing up as an avid reader, it was only natural for Emma Leigh
to turn to creating the stories for others to enjoy.
    Award winning and best selling
author Valerie Twombly grew up watching Dark Shadows over her mother’s
shoulder, and from there her love of the fanged creatures blossomed. Today,
Valerie has decided to take her darker, sensual side and put it to paper. When
she is not busy creating a world full of steamy, hot men and strong, seductive
women, she juggles her time between a full-time job, hubby and her two German
    shepherd dogs, in Northern IL.

Knight turns up the heat under the
Texas sun with three cowboys ready to rope your heart and the feisty ladies who
wrangle them. Enjoy a boot-stomping good time with these captivating couples:
What a Texas Girl Wants: The last
thing Jackson Taylor wants in his life is a down-to-earth girl like Kathleen

his finger? Once they’re back in Texas though, this all-business marriage might
just turn into an all-consuming love.
What a Texas Girl Needs: Matias
Barnes knows all about society women like Vanessa Witte. It’s part of the

    really let her go?
What a Texas Girl Dreams: They are

    Accidentally Writing a Series @authorkristina #RLFblog #western

I probably shouldn’t admit this, but
I never set out to write a trilogy about three sisters who grew up and apart in
Texas. I started out wanting to write Kathleen’s story – the story of a modern woman
who isn’t afraid to take what she wants in business but is very much afraid of admitting
what she wants for herself. Then I started to write that story and new people started
    cropping up, namely her sisters.

There was Vanessa, who was spoiled
and lost and eversoslightly demanding. There was Monica who thought she had everything
    – a great career, a man waiting at home – she could ever want. And neither one would
leave me along long enough to get a firm handle on Kathleen’s story. So I started
writing down bits of backstory for Vanessa and Monica in separate files – enough
to keep them happy, not enough to take the spotlight away from Kathleen – and kept
    pushing forward.
The more I wrote down bits of Vanessa’s
and Monica’s stories, the more I wanted to tell their stories, too. Not because
I didn’t love Kathleen, but because I loved Kathleen. She was getting her happily
ever after and while her story was a fun one to tell, I felt badly that Vanessa
and Monica were stuck in a kind of romance-limbo. So, I fiddled a little more and
wondered what could be the absolute worst thing that could happen for each of them.
And then I did what is probably the
scariest thing I’ve ever done (at least so far): I sent my editor a proposal based
on rough character sketches, a sample chapter and what can never be called actual
synopsis’ – and not just because the final drafts of the stories only loosely resemble
them. The second scariest moment: when my editor emailed to say she loved the ideas
and wanted me to write the stories. And attached two contracts to the email. Signing
a contract for two books that were still mostly in my head? Freaky!
But, I wrote and wrote and revised
and I did get to tell Vanessa and Monica’s stories – and a little birdie tells me
I may even have made my editor a little weepy at one point.
For a limited time, all three of those
original books – What a Texas Girl Wants, What a Texas Girl Needs and What a Texas
Girl Dreams – are available in one boxed set called Texas Wishes ~ and you can put
them all on your e-reader for $0.99! What a steal!

    What is your go-to meal
    when you dine out?
Chicken Fajitas! We eat a LOT of Mexican food and authentic fajitas
are the best…but even the fajitas made at chains like Max & Erma’s are amazing.
    Mmmm…now I’m hungry.
    Describe the perfect vacation.
It would include a warm-but-not-suffocating beach, RadioMan,
probably a strawberry daquiri. Plenty of family time with bebe, but also plenty
of Adults Only time, too. :D
    Tell us about your favorite
    toy as a child.
Gosh, there were so many…the one that always makes me smile,
though, is my first pair of ‘real’ roller skates – you know the kind that were actual
boots, not those plastic-y, stretchable skates that fit over my shows. Oh, I skated
    everywhere that year.
    What are your hobbies?
I love swimming, in fact I teach a class (aqua aerobics and deep
water run) at our local Y. And travel, although I don’t think I travel enough to
actually call that a hobby, lol.
If the hero of your latest
book called you on the phone, what would be a perfect ringtone for him?
Gonna Wanna Tonight by Chase Rice. Alex, my hero, is kind of
coming back to live in the book and this fits him. For a long time he hasn’t wanted
to do anything and now it’s all coming back and he wants everything…

    About the Book

The Daughter He Wanted, Contemporary Romance, Kristina Knight,
    R
    The Daddy Surprise
Since the loss of his wife, Alex Ryan has been living a half-life.
But with one phone call, Alex discovers he’s the biological father of a four-year-old
    girl…and everything changes.
As far as single mom Paige Kenner is concerned, it’s a nightmare.
She wanted a family without the man. Now suddenly there’s Alex, who desperately
wants to be a father to her little girl. A gorgeous, kind and committed father.
Letting a stranger into their lives is far too dangerous-especially if his presence
stirs a part of Paige that she longs to forget…

Interview with Kristina Knight author of Light My Fire @kristinaknight #RLFblog #contemporary

Light My Fire by Kristina Knight

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Lily MacIntyre’s life is offtrack, and she knows exactly how to right it: shed her America’s
sweetheart image in a big way. Getting down and dirty in a limo with rocker Nate
Lansford seems like the perfect solution. Plus, she’s had a mad crush on him practically
since birth. The only problem? Nate is her brother’s best friend…and he doesn’t
see her as anything other than a surrogate little sister.

    Interview with Kristina Knight

Why did you write this book?

I’ve had a love affair with music all my life. It started with
the Beach Boys (which my mom introduced me to when I hit high school) and then the
pop stars of the late 80s/early 90s (with some hair metal thrown in). Rock stars
fascinate me, so when Nate popped into my head I knew I had to write his story!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I read across genres, depending on my mood…but probably 60%
of my reading is contemporary romance. Because who doesn’t love a boy-meets-girl
    story?

What is your favorite character from fiction (not including your
    own characters)?

So many! But Samantha Jellicoe, from the Suzanne Enoch ‘Billionaires’
series is right up there at the top. She’s feisty, spunky and just a little bit
broken, but she also has a code and she lives by it. Love that!

Do you enjoy films and/or TV shows? Which are your favorites?

Yes, to both! A few of my faves are NCIS, Revenge, any chic-flick
film …and I love the Romancing the Stone movies from the 80s. They’re a little clichéd
and some of the acting is silly…but they’re still so good!

What are you working on at the moment, and what are we likely to see from you in the coming months?

I have 2 more rocker books, coming out in a few months with Harlequin
E and I just put the finishing touches on my very first SuperRomance from Harlequin,
which should be out in early 2015. So I’m in a little bit of editing/revisioning
limbo, but in my spare time (HA!!) I’m working on another contemporary about a cowboy
and a masseuse that I’m having so much fun with!

Please tell us about your latest book.

Light My Fire is a friends-to-lovers/brother’s best friend book
set in the glamorous Hollywood world. Lily is desperate
to change her image, and she’s had a mad crush on Nate, her brother’s best friend
and a rock star, for years. She thinks he’s the ticket…but she doesn’t count on
    falling for him…

Lily MacIntyre needs to shed her sitcom teen-queen image if she’s going to carve out a real career in Hollywood. A tabloid-worthy fling with rocker Nate Lansford—her childhood friend and new cohost of a reality talent show—should do it. As long as she can accept that the notorious player will be moving on to the next eager conquest when the season wraps. Long before Nate’s hard-hearted image took hold, he and Lily were each other’s protectors and allies. No one knows him the way she does—and he doesn’t want his messed-up past to muddy up her potential. For once, the bad boy is trying to be good. Not easy when the good girl is getting wicked with him in the back of his limo, and every white-hot kiss proves they can never be “just friends” again…

Character Interview: Esmerelda from Saint’s Devilish Deal @authorkristina #RLFblog

    Saint’s Devilish Deal
    Title The Saint’s Devilish Deal
    Genre Contemporary Romance
    Author Kristina Knight
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R
Esmerelda Quinn has been looking for a place to belong since
her parents were killed in a car crash when she was young. The closest thing to
home has always been Aunt Constance’s villa in Puerto Vallarta, so after a string of dead-end
hotellier jobs, she’s coming home to run the villa.
Santiago Cruz has called the villa home for as long as he can
remember. In between surfing events, Constance
has always had a room for him. Color him surprised when Constance decides to retire
    – and leaves a joint interest in the villa to both Santiago and Esme.
Esme isn’t thrilled to share ownership of the villa with the
youngest Cruz brother – especially when she learns Santiago’s brother has been after the villa for
    years. But Santiago
has grown up while she’s been away at school and soon she finds herself falling
for the rich surfer down the hall — all over again.

    Interview with Esmerelda

    What’s your external complication?
In the story world your author created, explain what it is you fear most.
    Santiago,
in a single word. Oh, I love him — always have — but he’s…complicated. And he’s
burned me before. So when I returned to Puerto
Vallarta and found him — literally — sleeping in my bed,
    it was…freaky!
    Tell us about your significant
other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
    Santiago,
again! I already mentioned that he’s complicated but at the heart of him is the
most wonderful belief in the people he cares about. He didn’t have the best childhood
and his family is, well, dysfunctional. But he has created a family in the people
    at the villa and me.
    What would that person
    say about you?
He would say I’m wound a little too tight, but that this sundress
I’m wearing will help cool me off. Ha!
    What is your family like?
My parents died in a car crash when I was young, so there was
only me and my aunt, Constance. She is everything to me, and now we’ve added Santiago to our family unit
    and I couldn’t be happier.
    Are you happy with the
way your story ended? Why or why not?
Yes, I got the guy, didn’t I? And together we saved Casa Constance.
Things aren’t perfect, but we’re working on that.

    About the Writer

    Why did you choose to
    write about this character?
I couldn’t not write Esmerelda’s story. She and Saint deserved
to get things right. They were both wounded by their childhoods and it was so much
fun to help them set things right.
    Was there anything you
discovered about this character that was a surprise to you?
How unbusinesslike Esme really is. She puts up a good front,
but at the core, she’s fun and silly and adventurous.
    When you wrote about this
character, what made you the most happy? What made you the most sad?
Seeing her come alive again, try new things again made me the
happiest, and even though her childhood still makes me sad, seeing her come to terms
with it and learn from what happened also made me extremely happy.
    What other character from
this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
I really want to tell Tobias’ story next. He’s Santiago’s brother and he’s
very tightly wound, but in a different way than Saint is. I need to figure him out!
    Are any sequels planned
    for this book?
As a matter of fact, yes! I’m just now digging into Tobias’ story
and I’m hoping to have it out to readers in the early spring.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
I love and appreciate you all so much! Thank you for coming along
    on this crazy, writer ride!
