    Storm Crazy

Today’s featured book is Storm Crazy by Livia Quinn.

    About the Book
Title Storm Crazy, Destiny Paramortals, Book1
    Genre Paranormal
    Author Livia Quinn
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG

Destiny — is it Mayberry or Middle Earth?
To say I was having a bad day would be like saying Katrina
dropped a little rain on the Gulf Coast. My name is Tempest Pomeroy. I’m a mail
carrier in Destiny, Louisiana, and a Paramortal like my family. Or I’m supposed
to be. If I didn’t have a few little talents, I’d think I was adopted.
I discovered my brother’s amphora missing from the
mantle—that’s genie bottle to you mere-mortals— and on my first delivery, a
handsome scantily clad doctor triggered some sort of hallucination with just a
touch. Pheromones? Then Mr. Jackson stroked while reading me the riot act.
I saved the old grouch with a zap of my Zeus juice, only to
have Destiny’s hunky new sheriff show up minutes later. And again when the
owner of Flowers by Dick complained I dropped a seventy pound box on his foot. Yeah,
I did it, but it was kind of an accident. He put his hand where it didn’t
belong and I… sorta dropped it. Things went downhill from there.
I discovered a dead body in the clubhouse and rescued my
brother’s amphora from a locker, bashing it in with a Greg Norman wedge. I was
caught in the act by…you guessed it.
I’ve denied my heritage as a Tempestaerie for too long. Now,
my mother’s out of pocket, my brother’s missing and the sheriff thinks one of
us is guilty of murder. Is it any wonder I’m calling this the worst MALE day of
    my life?
Oh, and the sheriff? He thought he’d settled in a normal
small town to raise his teenage daughter—like Mayberry?! We’ll see how that
turns out… Things better settle down soon ’cause I’m about to go Storm Crazy.

Visit Storm Lake…where anything can happen! My former jobs as a mail lady, computer trainer, plant manager, professional singer, business owner and salesperson have stocked my brain full of quirky characters I can’t wait to share with my readers.

The Rose Hunter a new #fantasy romance by @ciaragold #RLFblog

This quick interview includes info about the author, and
    introduces the story.

    About the Author

    Ciara wrote her
first “under the bed” book at twenty. Another fifteen years passed before she
bravely attempted another, but she’s been happily writing ever since. A true
Renaissance woman, when she’s not penning lively stories, she’s reading,
sewing, painting, camping, sailing or dancing. A recent empty nester, she and
her soul mate currently live on a modest plot of land surrounded by trees, a
pond, an array of wildlife and seven barn kitties.

    Interview with Ciara Gold

    Why did you write
    this book?
The Rose Hunter is actually a sequel to The Keeper of Moon
Haven. I’ve always had an active imagination. As an art teacher, I felt stifled
with no studio in which to create my own art so I decided to try writing. I
love it. I love creating fantastical worlds with interesting characters and
thus The Keeper of Moon Haven was born and in grand order, The Rose Hunter.
    What is your favorite
    genre to read?
I love historical western romances. They are my “comfort”
read. I figure it’s because I can relate to a lot of scenes. I camped a lot
when I was young and always thought I’d marry a rancher but alas, I married my
    own true love instead.
    Who is your favorite
character from fiction (not including your own)?
I have many favorites, but Benjamin Colter from Joan
Johnston’s Colter’s Wife has always held a special place in my heart. I can’t
pinpoint why except maybe he reminds me a lot of my own husband; he’s honest,
caring, rough around the edges and knows his mind.
    What are you working
on at the moment, and will see from you in coming months?
     I tend to work on
more than one project at a time. Currently, I’ve started another sequel to The
Rose Hunter, but I’m also working on two historical western romances. I will
probably have one of the westerns done before the sequel to The Rose Hunter.
    Please tell us about
    your latest book.
    Lucian Willshire is
plagued by thoughts of a fey world and the disappearance of his aunt some
nineteen years past, but when his friend drags him back to Hamingjur Castle, he
stumbles into Alfheim Haven once more where mystical beings become more than a
    distant memory.
    Lyerra Ahdia is baffled
by the sudden emotional changes she’s experiencing until she discovers she’s
the only witch to suffer “the change” since her mother stole the Rose, a
special talisman with the power to perpetuate life among those in her coven.
Tasked with finding and bringing the Rose home, she begs Lucian’s help in
navigating the human realm. Against his better judgement, he agrees.
                Though
neither set out to find anything except the Rose, fate has other plans. Will
love be more elusive than hunting the Rose?

#Cancer Awareness: No History, No Warning @ShieldsAlly #RLFblog

    Cross Keys
From Kayelle Allen: This week on Romance Lives Forever I’m sharing
stories by authors who have faced cancer either in themselves, or a family member.
The importance of friends and family, and having a support system is vital. One
key to success is being able to ask for help — and then being willing to accept
it. It’s a lesson I’ve had in my own life during various times. I don’t accept help
well. It’s something I fight with all the time. I’d like to think “I’ve got
this” but sometimes I don’t have as good a grip as I thought I did. I have
a friend who’s dealing with cancer right now. A friend’s brother died from cancer
last year. Cancer affects all of us. I hope I’m even half as good a friend as those
you’ll read about in this series.
I’m presenting these posts as an opportunity for the authors
to share their real life stories, as well as their fictional ones. There’s a short
list of ways you can show your support at the end of each post.

No History, No Warning, by Ally Shields

The diagnosis of breast cancer came
out the blue. No family history, no warning. I was too young. But the moment I felt
the lump during a shower, I knew what it was. The news went downhill from there.
Seventy-five percent of the nearest lymph nodes were involved. Prognosis guarded.
Three months of chemo later, they found spots in my lungs. It appeared the cancer
had already spread, and I was reeling when I heard the words…four months.
But I was scheduled to begin immediate
training at the Federal Law Enforcement Academy for a course on identifying and
rescuing abused children. My friends, my cop partner, and employer encouraged me
to go, and I did. I was determined to live up to their faith in me that my time
there wouldn’t be wasted, and it helped me stay positive. I met an incredible group
of people. When they learned of my diagnosis, they went out of their way to make
sure I stayed positive throughout training.
Upon return to Des Moines, my cancer
doctor recommended a lung biopsy. There was a one in a million chance it was something
else. He thought I might be that one. The biopsy revealed the spots were scars from
an unrelated prior illness. The cancer hadn’t spread after all, and I went into
additional chemotherapy believing I could beat this thing.
    Twelve difficult months later-with
friends and family beside me all the way- I was cancer free, and have remained so
for 25 years. Of course the medical team was fantastic, but I credit my recovery
to everyone who was around me at that critical time. The effects of friendship on
our minds and bodies can be a powerful thing, a little touch of human magic.

    About the Author

a career in law and juvenile justice, she turned to full-time writing. Her first
urban fantasy novel, Awakening the Fire was published in 2012 and that series continues.
She loves to travel in the US and abroad and incorporates many of those settings
    into her books.

    Genre
    Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance
    Author
    Jami Gray
    Book
heat level (based on movie ratings): PG-13
Everyone fears what hunts in the shadows—especially
    the monsters…
When the supernatural lurks in the shadows of the
mundane, hunting monsters requires unique skills, like those of Raine McCord. A
series of deaths threatens to reveal the Kyn community and forces her to
partner with the sexy Gavin Durand.
As the trail leads to the foundation haunting
Raine’s childhood, she and Gavin must unravel lies and betrayals to discover not
only each other, but the emerging threat to them and the entire magical
    community.

The Bucket List of Raine McCord

    Name:
    Raine McCord
    Age:
Let’s stick with late twenties and call it good, shall we?
    Gender:
    Female
    Birthplace:
    Oregon
    Profession:
    Taliesin Security Officer/Wraith
    Welcome to Romance
Lives Forever. Your author introduced you. Now we’d like to get to know you
better. Please tell us about yourself.
    What
more can I tell you. No, seriously, there’s not much I can say. Somethings are best left alone, like me. Still, if you
dare rattle the cage, you might get more than you expected. Don’t turn on me,
and you’ll live a long and peaceful life. Cross me, and you might as well start
digging your own grave. It’ll save me time. (shifting in the chair) Of course
Gavin might have a few things to say about it, but it’s not like I have to
    listen, right?
    When
someone dies, we say they “kicked the bucket.” Therefore, a list of
things that a person wants to accomplish, places to go, situations to
experience, and so on have become known as a “Bucket List.” We’d like
to know yours, please. If you haven’t made one before, perhaps now would be a
good time. Who knows? It might inspire another book. While you’re at it, how
about telling us about some of your other favorite things? Here are the
    questions.
    What are two places
you would like to visit before you die, and why?
    Hmmm,
I haven’t really thought about it much, considering a Wraith’s life expectancy
can be cut short rather abruptly. (drumming fingers on table) I wouldn’t mind a
trip back to Europe, maybe check out Ireland, where my mother’s family came
from, see if anyone remembers her. Of course, that may stir up more trouble
    than it’s worth.
    Where is a place you
would never like to return, and why?
    (eyeing
Kayelle) Is this a trick question? Let’s just go with Aaron Talbot’s lab, and
the reason should be self-explanatory. Three months under that mad man was more
    than enough for me, thanks.
    Who is someone you
would like to meet, and why?
    (slow,
spreading smile of grim intentions) Gavin and I have discussed a possible trip
to Turkey, maybe drop in on a few Council members, convey our regards, make our
presence known, that kind of thing.
    Who is someone you
would like to avoid, and why?
    I’m
not much on avoidance, but I might actually step carefully around Rio Castle,
the demon lord of the Southwest. Yeah, that old bugger might worry me a bit.
    If you could time
travel to any date, what would it be, and what would you do there?
    (paling
a bit, lips tightening, looks away) It’s not just one. Having those I love pay
for my mistakes isn’t something that sits easy with me. (inhales and turns back
to face Kayelle) The most obvious answer is the night my mom and I were
kidnapped. I’d make sure Talbot and his cronies thought hard before coming
    after us.
    What is your birth
    order?
    I’m
an only child, which isn’t so bad for me, but my uncle may wish differently.
    Tell us about your
    favorite toy as a child.
    (face
softening) My mother’s dirk. I keep it close, even now.
    Describe your
favorite food and how it’s prepared.
    Hmmm,
Gavin’s pasta primavera, all those grilled veggies and cheese. Yeah, it’s my
favorite dish. (a serene, secretive smile) He’s great in the kitchen and rocks
an apron like no one’s business.
    Tell us about your
    best friend.
    (chuckling)
That would be Xander Cade. That girl. (shakes head) Men see this little curvy
blonde and think they’ve got it made. Boy are they in for a surprise. Never
underestimate the power of a woman, especially one with sharp claws and even
sharper teeth. Her bite is way worse than her bark. Just ask Warrick Vidis.

Character Interview Joe from Princess of the Light @NNP_W_Light #RLFblog #UrbanFantasy

    Princess of the Light
    Princess of the Light
Please welcome author NN Light, who also happens to be a
personal friend, and one of the editors for my business, The Author’s Secret.
Her book, Princess of the Light is helping people everywhere learn how to share
food and to open their lives to help others. This post is a special character interview with Joe Deacons.

    About the Book

    Title Princess of the Light
    Genre Urban Fantasy Romance
    Author N. N. Light
Book heat level (based on movie ratings): PG13
Gabriel, the Archangel and Messenger of God – yeah that Gabriel,
visited Mary Miller. He told her, as the key she is destined to spread the Light
and vanquish the Darkness. Her first assignment is to restore the soul of the Walking
Man. Sounds simple enough until she’s thrown in the face of evil, and then Joe Deacons
enters her heart. This battle just got a lot more complicated. She must complete
her mission without losing all she loves.

    Interview with Joe Deacons

    Tell us about yourself, please.
    My name is Joe Deacons
and it’s a pleasure to be here. I’m a little out of my element here but the author
assured me this was all for the good of the story, calling me every woman’s book
boyfriend…whatever that means. Anyway, I am an urban planner for the city of Golden
Lake. Oh and I am in love with Mary, the Princess of the Light.
What inner doubt causes you the most difficulty?
    Believing in what I can’t
see or logically explain causes me great difficulty. Take Mary, for example. One
day she tells me she is the Princess of the Light and knowing her as an honest person,
I had no choice but to believe her. She is a faithful person and it wasn’t until
I saw a demon for the first time that I truly believed. Sometimes I am still amazed
that she chose me to love… or maybe it was just meant to be.
What’s your external complication? In the story world your
author created, explain what it is you fear most.
    Losing Mary, either to
death or to Than. Than is a big bad demon, second in command to Lucifer, and I see
lust in his eyes when he spars with Mary. It makes my blood boil and I want to run
    a sword through him.
Tell us about your significant other, that person who makes
    living worthwhile.
    Mary is the most beautiful
woman in the world and every day, I thank God for her. She brings such beauty to
my life and loves me for me, not my parents’ money. She tells me the truth and keeps
me honest. She is brave, braver than me, and she makes me laugh. She’s strong but
she shows me her insecurities too. I’m a better man because of her and I love her
    so much.
What would that person say about you?
    She would say I’m being
modest and too reserved in this interview and that I’m her warrior and her strength.
She boasts I’m her protector and I like that. What man doesn’t want to protect those
he loves? She would also say I have a heart of gold and I’m not afraid of anything.
    What is your family like?
    My father is the king
of decorum and he believes in preserving the Deacons name, at all costs. My mother
is a generous loving soul who could outdo Martha Stewart in a hostess contest. She
has always been there for me and I love her dearly. My younger brother, Edward,
is a historian and theologian. He is more like my father and that is fine by me.
If someone from your past showed up, who would you NOT want
    it to be, and why?
    This actually happened
to me in the book. A few years ago, a gold-digger named Leslie convinced me to marry
her. She pretended to love me and I loved her. Two days before the wedding, she
dumped me for another man. I was heartbroken and I vowed to never let another woman
    get close again.
    Then Mary came into my
life and the walls around my heart melted. I was happily in love and then BAM! Leslie
shows up when least expected. For more, you have to read Princess of the Light.
Are you happy with the way your story ended? Why or why not?
    Yes, I’m happy with how
my story ended. There are a few surprises along the way and I can’t wait for the
next story. I keep nudging the author to have me more involved in the story but
she refuses to listen to me.

    About the Writer

    You have the length of
a tweet (140 characters) to describe yourself as a writer. Let’s see what you can
    do.
I’m a storyteller who loves to write stories filled with high
stakes, emotionally-charged conflict, earth-shaking romance and big bads.
    Why did you choose to
    write about this character?
I chose to write about Joe because I thought the world needed
a hero who was strong yet willing to let the woman he loves be front and center.
Love is not dead and neither is chivalry. He is Mary’s partner, lover and warrior.
    Was there anything you
discovered about this character that was a surprise to you?
I was surprised how caring he was. Even with all that was going
on in the various battle scenes, his first reaction is to make sure people are okay.
    Why do you write?
I write because I’m a storyteller. I have been blessed with the
gift of writing ever since I was a little girl. I have all these stories that need
to be told swirling in my head. I just have to get them down on paper. Finding time
to write is the hardest part of being a writer.
What do you want to write
    next?
I’m in the process of writing book two in the Princess of the
Light series. I also have a mystery swirling around that my muse insists is next
    to be published.
    What other character from
this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
I’d love to write more about Than. He is a demon from way back
and in fact, used to be an angel. In Heaven, he was the Virgin Mary’s Protector.
But that was before the Rebellion. Now, he’s Lucifer’s second in command and he’s
a key player in the battle of good versus evil.
    Are any sequels planned
    for this book?
Yes, I have currently five more books planned in the Princess
    of the Light series.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
As a thank you for your interest in my book and helping to support
food banks worldwide, I am offering Princess of the Light (in both e-book and paperback)
discounted early for Black Friday Deals! It is available for only $2.99 in

My name is Miriam Miller and I am the Princess of the Light.
I am in my late twenties and I work as a manager of a bookstore. I try to live
a normal life but with angels and demons popping up, it’s hard to explain
sometimes. My favorite thing to do in my free time is to curl up with a good
    book. I love books.
    What’s your internal
limitation? Meaning, what is it about you that makes it so you cannot do what
it is you need to do during this story?
Hmm, I would say my biggest limitation is to ignore the
inner demons within and to have a pure heart. Battling with demons is not as
hard as you might think. I can wail on demons all day but to stay pure, to
focus on the Light is a constant struggle. It’s the true test of evil versus
good and for me, my heart needs to be pure. If not, I am no better than the
    demons I face.
    What inner doubt
    causes you the most difficulty?
For me, it’s believing that I can’t do what needs to be
done. I have been chosen to be the Princess of the Light. Who am I compared to
others? I am not a pious woman like Mother Teresa. I’m just me, plain-old
Miriam. What if I fail? Will God send me to Hell?
    What’s your external
complication? In the story world your author created, explain what it is you
    fear most.
Dealing with the constant attacks by Than and Lisbeth is
enough to fear but what I dread most is becoming a warrior for darkness. I have
been blessed with all these abilities and yet the temptation is so strong to
give in to Than. Becoming a weapon of darkness is my worst nightmare.
    Tell us about your
significant other, that person who makes living worthwhile.
    What would that
    person say about you?
Joe Deacons is the love of my life and he is the most
caring, wonderful man in the world. Even though he came from a wealthy family,
he is filled with compassion for those in need. He shows kindness to others and
strives to make a difference in the world. He has shown me what it means to
love another unconditionally and I wouldn’t know what I would do without him. His
love gives me the strength to fight the darkness and together we cannot be
    defeated!
Joe would definitely say that I am his angel and I can do no
wrong. He would probably also mention that I have an inner strength that defies
explanation. He would gush about all the ways that I give to others without
regard to myself. He would finally mention that I am a faithful woman.
    What special skills
    do you rely on?
I have many skills ranging from athletic ability to weapons
training but the greatest skill I have to let go and be an instrument of the
Light. Pushing aside my ego and needs, being one with the Light is the greatest
advantage I have against the darkness. The Light defeats the darkness. Knowledge
is also a terrific skill. Knowing how to defeat the demons and how to spread
the Light is almost as good as a sword.
    Are you happy with
the way your story ended? Why or why not?
Yes, I was thrilled with how it ended. I thought my author
did a fantastic job and even threw in a few surprises that I was not expecting.

    About the Writer

    You have the length
of a tweet (140 characters) to describe yourself as a writer. Let’s see what
    you can do.
I’m an inspirational writer who makes the world a better place.
I create interesting characters who take the reader inside their head.
    Why did you choose to
    write about this character?
I chose to write about Miriam because she is the Princess of
the Light and the reader wants to know more about her. She is my favorite
character in the book and I hope that readers will love her as much as I do.
    Was there anything
you discovered about this character that was a surprise to you?
I discovered that even when the chips are down, she rises up
like a phoenix. She has an inner strength that I wish I had.
    When you wrote about
this character, what made you the most happy? What made you the most sad?
I loved writing the love story from Miriam’s point of view. It
reminded me of my own love story with my husband. I also loved writing the
    final battle scene.
What made me cry was when Lisbeth gets the upper hand on
Miriam and Miriam thinks she has failed. It’s the lowest point in her life and
    she feels such despair.
    Why do you write?
I write because I have something to say and if I don’t get
it out, I will suffocate. Writing is like breathing for me and I have been
blessed with the gift of writing since I was a little girl.
    What other character
from this book do you want to write about? Care to tell us why?
I’d love to do the back-story on Than. He is a powerful
demon and was once an angel like Ethanial. I may have to write a prequel
    telling his story someday.
    Are any sequels
    planned for this book?
Yes, I have outlines for four more books and have started
    writing book two.
    Is there anything you’d
like to say to your readers?
I first wanted to thank you for taking time out of your busy
lives to read my book. I hope you are inspired and enjoy the world I have
created. There is a message here and I hope you will join me in spreading the
Light. Just like Miriam, we all can make a difference.
I also wanted to let the readers know that a portion of each
book that is sold will go directly to food banks and other services so that
people like the Walking Man are cared for. Together, we can end hunger and help
    those in need.
