Why did you write this book?
Unforgiven is book four in a nine book series of short Romantic Suspense series. Regret and forgiveness are the two unrelenting emotions we all struggle with. Over and over we analyze what we could have done, should have done better. This is especially true of our military personnel. Many of my family have served and come back battling these feelings.
I was invited to join the Heart of the Wounded Hero series. My Hardcore Inc books are a spin off of my book Unscathed, from that series.

Oh so many.. Gabriel Sinclair from Double Dealing by Jayne Castle: Dane Hollister from Dream Man by Linda Howard: Jack Reacher from Lee Child; Jack Ryan from Tom Clancy….
What are you working on at the moment?
Book five in the Hardcore series is Unseen. This will be Doc’s story. I’m also working on another sexy short for my upcoming New York Knights series.

What’s in your character’s pockets, backpack, or purse?
What does your character always carry?
It depends on whether he’s going into battle or going to work at the radio station. Given the current set of circumstances, he has donned his full-length black leather duster with internal pockets that hold platinum spelled daggers and poison wrist arrows. A pocket in the back holds a leather scabbard for his sword. Then there is his ankle holster that houses a 9mm semi-automatic weapon.
Vampire’s use their speed, strength and thrall most of the time, but when enemies come equipped with an arsenal of their own, other means are necessary.
Is there an item your character carries for good luck and if so, what is it?
Crazy or not his 9mm is his lucky charm. He’s never had to use it.
Does your character carry money and if so, in what form (cash, credit, etc.)?
He carries cash depending on where he is going and how long he’ll be gone.
What else besides pockets does the character use to carry things?
Holster and a full-length black leather duster created to carry a cache of specialized weapons in inside pockets.
What is one thing your character wouldn’t be caught dead carrying?
A leather whip. That’s a story for another time.
Has anything in your character’s pockets ever gotten them in trouble?
Only if someone finds out what he is carrying. In the little town he now calls home, he doesn’t usually need his arsenal. However, things are changing and the woman he’s attracted to has attracted something every dark and sinister.
Has anything in your character’s pockets ever saved the day?
Numerous times, most recently when a dark demon disguised as a receptionist showed up at the radio station and things went south quickly.

What does your author always carry?
Her conceal carry permit and what it allows.
What does your author dislike carrying but has to?
Promotional items related to her books. They always get bent and tattered in her backpack rendering them useless.
What does your author carry for luck?
Not sure if it’s for luck, but she carries a Leatherman tool. It really comes in handy in a lot of situations mortals get themselves into. Especially her, she is a trouble magnet.
How organized is your author’s backpack / purse?
Very! Her backpack has four pockets on the outside, two on the inside and a large open space, Everything has a place and she keeps it there.
What does your author prefer to use when it comes to items like backpacks / purses?
Backpacks with lots of pockets. Or cross-body purse with a long strap.
If your author could buy an item to carry things in and money was no object, what would it be?
Her purple backpack. Or her orange cross body purse. I think she’s attached to those things.

Why did you write this book? After finishing Hometown, book 1 in my series, I knew I had to write Nora’s story next. If Hometown has a villain, it’s Nora. But no villain thinks of herself as a villain. She says what she says and does what she does out of love—and in Nora’s case, out of deep hurt caused by a tragedy in her past. After watching her brother Jonas find happiness, Nora deserved her own happily ever after, and she gets it in the most unexpected and delightful way.
What is your favorite genre to read? Do I have to choose??? I love romance of course, but I also love middle readers, YA, historical fiction, and romcoms!
Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)? Lately, I’m obsessed with the audiobooks of Diana Gabaldon’s brilliant “Outlander” series. Davina Porter’s narration is brilliant, and I love Claire Fraser! I love her smarts and her resourcefulness and her spunk!
What are you working on at the moment? Shooting Sunshine, book 3 of the Hearts of the Ridge series is in the early stages. As with the other two, it will feature a romance between one Amish and one “English” character. I’m also in the editing phase of a middle reader ghost story which is lots of fun!
What books will we see from you in coming months? Look for Shooting Sunshine, next! I’m also working on a Hearts of the Ridge novella which I’ll give away free to my newsletter subscribers. In Heartsong Hills, readers get to know Amish pretzel maker Annie Amos. I think her rebellious youth and tempestuous love story will give fans of the series a big smile.

Why did you write this book?
These characters are so strong their story begged to be told. I’ve always been fascinated by nature’s elemental powers and along with the idea that when crazy things happen in our lives we still have to get up, do laundry wash dishes, and I wanted to tell a story in which character’s are facing crazy circumstances but again, someone has to meet the kids at the bus, you go to work…even if there’s a goblin in the pumpkin patch.

Good question, there are so many. I think Blackberry from Watership Down, I like clever characters.

The second book in the Elemental series!

Over the past two years, Rory has learned that other people aren’t the best of company, that the guilt of causing the Apocalypse is a heavy burden, and that monsters only see him as a meal. Until Rory met Inkiri, who sees Rory as his mate.
Now, Rory has to navigate what it means to be with someone who not only isn’t human but who also is from another world altogether… and since Rory finds himself in that otherworld all of a sudden, he has to adapt fast. While Rory is beginning to wrap his head around liking the new place and the new customs, he can’t relax into a peaceful happily ever after because whatever connection Rory has to the magic that unleashed the Apocalypse, people want that, meaning they want him. Where Rory and his newfound family ran to may not have been far enough to escape their pursuers’ clutches.

First, what is your name and how old are you?
Hi, I’m Rory, and I’m twenty-three.
What is your favorite meal?
Mmh. I’m not sure what it’s called. Inkiri–that’s my not-quite-human mate, took me to his world the other day, and they have this stuff, which is like a gel. A little like aloe I guess, but it tastes flowery and a little spicy. I really liked it, but I never asked what it was called. There is lots of interesting food on Aër, the monster world. Also some stuff that I don’t care for.
If any, what food do you refuse to eat?
Massacre buns. They are actually called massa buns, and they are vile. They’re super oily and taste like cilantro and raisins, just ugh. Cannot recommend.
Tell us about a meal or food that says “home” to you.
It’s not any specific food, but sometimes when I get to watch people cook and they enjoy it, I totally get nostalgic vibes that take me back to my childhood and the really good au pairs. Oh, I have to mention Nokim’s banana bread of course. Nokim is part of our monster and human found family unit, and sometimes what he cooks up is strange, but it’s usually tasty.
When you find yourself with some type of unknown food on your plate, what do you do?
Yeah… after the massacre bun incident, I’m really careful now. I suppose if I didn’t know it at all, Inkiri would taste it first to check if it’s something I’d like. He’s all caring like that, you know.
What is the worst meal you’ve ever eaten?
Massacre. Bun.
Do you skip breakfast or is eating that a must-do for you?
Breakfast is okay. I skip it sometimes, but not usually, because it gets Inkiri upset and all worried about me.
Do you keep snacks on hand, and if so, what are they?
I don’t, but you know what? Inkiri always carries some nuts on him. It’s for the birds though! He’s a real bird whisperer.
How much coffee or tea do you drink?
I like coffee, and living in the Apocalypse really makes you appreciate stuff like that. I savor it more than I did before.
Who are your favorite people to share meals with?
My guys. They are the best. I know we aren’t related and we couldn’t be more different what with them having horns, but they’re family.
