Dr. Piper Roblin is peeved. She’s pretty sure her new neighbour stole her travel alarm clock. It may not be worth much, but it has sentimental value. Piper hatches a plan to get it back, but her plan relies on Brent Dean, popular forward of the Brighton Edge hockey team, to finagle a dinner invitation to gain access to her neighbour’s house.

Brent thought the invite from the stunningly beautiful cardiologist was based on a thoughtful gesture to welcome new neighbours to Brighton. He didn’t realize the gig included subterfuge, thievery, and a fake engagement. But he didn’t get to where he is without a lot of hustle and determination, and since he’s always up for some fun, let the games begin.

Why did you write this book?

This book starts out with the theft of a treasured travel alarm clock. That is based on a real life experience of mine! I never did get it back, but turns out, it’s a fun premise for the story. I also love doing escape rooms with the challenge of clues to decipher and puzzles to solve. I thought I’d weave that type of white-collar crime mystery into a romance. Add in a smart, sassy doctor and a swoon-worthy professional hockey player, and the stage is set for a fun, clever hockey caper. This is the second of a new series and the stories will all be stand-alone, kisses-only romantic comedies with all the feel of a sexy romance – sweet with heat!

What is your favorite genre to read?

I love reading romance, of course, with the happy-ever-endings. I also enjoy cozy mysteries especially when they’re written in the third person. I just finished Baubles to Die For by Tonya Penrose and loved it!

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

My favorite character is Andy Carpenter from David Rosenfelt’s Andy Carpenter series. He’s a clever, resourceful, independently wealthy lawyer who reluctantly and hilariously takes on clients who are wrongly accused of murder.

What are you working on at the moment?

I’m working on the third story of the Laugh-out-Loud Hockey Caper Romance series. Lately, I’ve discovered how to make my own covers and marketing ads on Canva, and I’m having fun putting those together, too.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

After this release I’ll be concentrating on the third and fourth books in the series. I’m thinking about all the twists and turns I can incorporate!
