Read Sannah, a Stone Age romance by Miriam Newman @miriamnewman #RLFblog #NewRelease # ancient times historical fiction #romanceTaken from her Stone Age camp by a man who is both warrior and shaman, Sannah must find a way to survive in the historical fiction romance, Sannah, by Miriam Newman.

Miriam, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Sannah.

    Sannah by Miriam Newman

    Genre ancient times historical romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Taken captive in a raid on her Stone Age camp, Sannah is abducted by a man who is both warrior and shaman. Memmet believes she was given to him by the spirits and will keep her at any cost.

Why did you write this book?

After writing historical romance set in 1066 at the time of the Norman Conquest of England, I was looking for a little different period in history to explore. And, wow, did my muse respond—all the way back to the Stone Age.

What is your favorite genre to read?

Romance, definitely. Historical and fantasy are my two favorites, and if they are combined, so much the better!

Who is your favorite character from fiction (not including your own)?

King Arthur was always a definite favorite.

What are you working on at the moment?

My historical fantasy trilogy, The Chronicles of Alicia, has just reverted to me and I am assembling it into an ebook and print bundle for readers both old and new.

What books will we see from you in coming months?

Aside from my trilogy, next year should see the release of two historical romances, Flame of Normandy and Clothilde. They are the prequel and sequel to my book The Comet, but can be easily read as standalone novels. Both go back to possibly my favorite time period, the Norman Conquest.

Fantasy poetry driven by myths and legends has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I was published in poetry before catching the romance writing bug. I bring that background to my writing along with a lifelong addiction to horses, an 18 year career in various areas of psychiatric social services and many trips to Ireland, where I nurture my muse. My published works range from contemporary fantasy romance to fantasy historical, futuristic, science fiction and historical romance. Currently I live in rural Pennsylvania with a “motley crew” of rescue animals.

Read the series: Seducing the Darkness by Shiela Stewart @shielasue#RLFblog #Paranormal romanceNo one is safe when the sun is gone in Shiela Stewart’s Paranormal Romance, Seducing the Darkness. Not even the vampires.

Shiela Stewart, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about your series.

Seducing the Darkness in the The Darkness series

    Genre Paranormal Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

An outcast by her kind, Trinity Ford has learned to live on her own…not an easy thing to do when you’re a vampire.

Trinity was once a fragile girl. Being taken by a powerful vampire prince changed her. Discovering him in the arms of another woman changed destiny. Alone, she’s learned fast how to be tough, how to survive, and how to protect the people in her city from the evil that lurks in the dark. She was managing just fine, until Basil walked back into her life.

Basil Hawthorn has been the reigning prince of vampires since banishing his father to the Realm of Dark Mystics decades earlier. When a prophetic dream makes him realize Trinity’s life is at risk, he decides the only way to save her is to push her away. Doing so is not easy. Trinity is the only woman he has ever loved, ever will love, and he can’t seem to let her go.

When rumors arise of a plan to raise the King and blot out the sun, both Trinity and Basil know they must do everything to stop it. Even if it means working together. Despite the betrayal and the threat, they find themselves drawn to each other. Love has no boundaries, especially in the face of danger. But will they be able to stop the ritual before it’s too late?

Or will the darkness capture them both?

Which book is this in the series?

Seducing the Darkness is the first book.

How many books do you plan for the series?

Originally it was only going to be a single book with everything wrapping up in Seducing the Darkness. After my publisher read it, she asked if I might consider making it a series. She was thinking 3 books. I couldn’t let the characters go, so 8 were created.

    How many books are completed?

All 8 books are complete. I was writing one book while editing the other so that all 8 could be released in one year.

What characters are the main stars in your series?

The heroine is Trinity Ford and she’s a vampire as is the hero, Basil Hawthorn. He is also the Prince of vampires. They are the lead in the first six books, then make guest appearances in the last two. There are also 3 other characters that are key in every book.

What is the overall theme in this series?

Trinity isn’t your normal vampire. She wants to keep her city safe by taking out as many bad vampires as she can. But when a ritual is performed to blot out the sun over Jacob’s Cove, she has her hands full. Each book introduces a new character that are love interests for the 3 other main characters. With the sun gone, the vampires are taking over. Trinity, Basil and the other characters try to save what humans haven’t fled the city while trying to bring the sun back. In the midst of all the mayhem, love blooms adding brightness to a very dark situation. Each book takes up where the previous ended.

Please list the series titles below, in any order you prefer.

    Seducing the Darkness Bk1
    Desiring the Darkness Bk 2
    Embracing the Darkness Bk 3
    Charming the Darkness Bk 4
    Tempting the Darkness Bk 5
    Penetrating the Darkness Bk 6
Consuming the Darkness A New Beginning Bk 7
Surviving the Darkness A New Beginning Bk 8

What did you like best about writing this series?

The ability to keep the hero and heroines storyline going. Unlike most other romance series books, I give the readers a look at what happens to the couples after their budding romance begins.

What other books (not in this series, have you written?)

To date I have 15 published books with a 16th and 17th on in editing.
Awaken the Demon. Offer the Demon. Conquer the Demon
A Taste of Humanity a 1 Night Stand series.
The Naughty Angel a 1 Night Stand series.
Discovery in Passion. Escape in Passion.

Discovery in Passion by Shiela Stewart

    Genre Paranormal Romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): R

Wanting to start fresh, Cassie Evans relocates to the small town of Passion where she moves into the home of her dreams, complete with dreamy next door neighbor, artist, and handyman Thomas Healy. The only problem is, the house she bought just might be haunted.

Thomas Healy lives a life of solitude and that suits him just fine. Then Cassie Evans moves in next door and begins to turn his peaceful life upside down. He tries to ignore her, but ignoring a woman as beautiful as Cassie isn’t so easy, especially when she shows up at your door, naked, begging for you to paint her. Thomas’ first mistake was to agree to it, his second was to take Cassie to bed, now she’s all he can think about.

When their blossoming love is overshadowed by a ghostly haunting, the curious Cassie launches an investigation into the life and death of her home’s previous owner, uncovering a mystery and attracting the attention of a killer. Where will Cassie’s discovery lead her, to the love of her life or to death itself?

Tell us about yourself as a person.

What makes you different from other people?

Well, I once lived in a haunted house. It wasn’t a malicious spirit. Completely opposite. The spirit of the woman who died in our farm house was very helpful in that she would bring my baby sister a bottle if she woke crying, opened the curtains in the morning to let the sun in and set cups on the table or morning coffee.

What is your favorite subject to talk about?

Anything paranormal. I’m fascinated in others experiences and thoughts of spirits who still remain around us.

    What is your favorite meal?

I’m a meat and potatoes gal. I could eat roast chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy every day if I could.

Tell us about yourself as a writer.

What made you want to be a writer?

I’ve always been a storyteller. As far back as I can remember, I told stories to anyone who listened. As I grew, so did my collection of stories. After filling two boxes of manuscripts, my husband urged me to look into getting them published. It wasn’t easy, but I stuck with it, and to date, I have 15 books published.

When you go to a convention, what kinds of things do you take along?

A nice bright bouquet of flowers. Bookmarks for giveaways and merchandise with my books printed on them.

What’s your best advice for a new writer?

If it truly is your passion, stick to it. Don’t let rejections get you down or doubt yourself.

Janet, welcome to Romance Lives Forever. I’m Kayelle Allen, author and owner of this blog. Happy to have you here! Please tell us about Tangled Dreams

Tangled Dreams by Janet Lane Walters

    Genre Contemporary romance

Book heat level (based on movie ratings): 3

Two reasons bring Cancer heroine Janine Rhodes to Fern Lake. The first is the Masters and Doctors program at the nearby university. The second is a letter from a dying woman.

When Virgo Nate Quinn learns about his son’s medical condition, he can barely hold on. Just a year ago, he lost his wife to cancer. His adopted son has become his entire family. When the doctor asks him about the child’s birth parents, he has no idea. He agreed to the adoption but only signed papers and took no other part in the process. Now he needs to locate two people.

Tell us about yourself as a person.

What makes you different from other people?

I’m not sure I’m much different from most people though for most of my life I’ve been a book worm. I was married for sixty plus years to the same man who considered my passion for writing as an obsession. He was a psychiatrist so he might have been right. I have an eclectic family. Three children by birth and one a biracial child by adoption. I have four black grandchildren and three Chinese. Guess that might be a bit different. I’ve lived in anumber of states and fell in love with the Hudson Valley of New York. Many of my stories are sited here. I kind of dabble writing mysteries, contemporary romance, fantasy romances and a fantasy series for young people. As well, I’ve written paranormal stories with history in the background. There are also several non-fiction books, two written when I was ghost writing for doctors and one on writing fiction with a good friend. I’m into Astrology and once earned enough money to make a trip to Ireland doing charts for others. I’ve composed music with several being played at the church I attended. So that’s my very almost ordinary life. I’ve been published since 1968 with time out to return to work as a nurse to help children through college. I also have a BA in English and a BS in Nursing.

    What is your personality type?

I’m rather kind of mixed in personality. There are times when I’ m an introvert and bury myself in words, mine and others. I can also be an extrovert enjoying interacting with people. Lately with the Corono virus, I’ve been more introvert.

What was your favorite childhood game?

As a child during WW II, the games we played were all about planning for an invasion. We ranged the hill in front of our house and dug hidden pits in the ground. We also spent time spotting planes. We became adept with Morse Code. There were also the usual childhood games. Telling ghost stories at night and putting on plays for the neighbors. On the street where I lived, there were 2 girls and eight boys of the same ages. Needless to say things were geared to boys.

Tell us about yourself as a writer.

What made you want to be a writer?

Pneumonia is the culprit. I had been married for a few months and during a regular check-up at the hospital where I worked, they found pneumonia. Back then antibiotics were rare and I was allergic to penicillin so the search went on. On my way home, I stopped at the library and took out a heap of books. My aunt brought some more and my sister-in-law sent a shopping bag. Many of hers were medical romances. After reading a half dozen of them, I tossed the books aside and decided I could do better. They knew nothing about nurses, doctors and hospitals. I remember some of the premises even today and shudder. That’s when the quest began and I started reading books about writing. A few years later, I published my first short story and then went on to writing novel lengths.

What’s your best advice for a new writer?

Finish the book. Don’t keep rewriting the first chapter or chapters over and over until you lose sight of what you want to write. Yes, there are things you know aren’t right and things you may have left out but continue to the end. The end almost always makes you realize when you are finished how much the story and the characters have grown. Then it’s time to start revising. As you continue to write, you will find a system that works for you but this comfort doesn’t start the moment when you first begin writing. You will learn by doing and by trial and error.

What are your writing goals for the next year or so?

Goals are a great thing to have. For the next while I’ll be concentrating on two series to finish both. One is a contemporary Romance Moon Child series and there are seven out of twelve finished. They are books in the 40,000 to 50,000 length. I am also concentrating on a fantasy series Moon Rising that will have six books in total. I’m on the third. These are longer books.

How long have you been writing?

Pretty much forever, though not as a fiction writer. I have a degree in journalism, so started out in the newspaper business.

What was your first published book?

Shades of Gray, which is an epic historical fiction novel set during the Civil War. I never thought I’d write another book after finishing that one, and it’s still one of my bestselling books with almost 1,500 reviews.

Tell us about your writing space or home office.

Well, it’s pretty much the reason I bought my house twenty-five years ago. It’s the entire first floor of the original stone house (which is more two hundred years old). I had to build an addition so I would have a kitchen, living room and bathrooms.

    Anything special about your space?

It’s old and has a lot of character. It’s a comfortable and welcoming space.Do It Write: Where Jessica James writes @jessicajames #RLFblog #thriller

What office equipment do you use most, other than your computer?

I bought an extra wide recliner with proceeds from winning a book contest. I do most of my writing in that.

What book or books about writing do you recommend for new authors?

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. The writing process is kind of magical to me, and Elizabeth explains it in a way that is interesting and entertaining.

What do you like to read for relaxation?

I enjoy reading just about anything historical or military-related. I don’t read a lot of fiction, but Vince Flynn (Kyle Mills) novels are a definite exception.
